He's just a typical centre-left Blairite who's pro-enterprise and pro-globalism (as all London mayors are). He's anti-Corbyn and basically stands for very little besides the practical applications of trying to run the city.
He never should have won, but the Conservatives put forward Zac Goldsmith who is completely unelectable, the race for London mayor was completely devoid of political talent.
I hate muzzies, he's not as bad as Sup Forums makes out, but what he stands for, the significance of it is. He's incredibly boring in reality.
