What's his secret...

What's his secret? Why is he so funny and criminally underrated compared to most of his SNL golden age peers such as Sandler, Ferrel and Tracy Morgan? Is it because he never had a big movie hit because I thought Dirty Work did pretty well.

i still watch dirty work. top notch

because hes a degenerate gambler and pill abuser

He's a conservative who hasn't drunk the liberal kool-aid.

In the Larry King interview he openly denies being conservative. However he does have a really modest opinion on politics in general.

he is lazy and not very ambitious, and that's why we love him.

Screwed is pretty good too.

He doesn't censor himself

he's too unpredictable

time?

Just finished this baby. What did I think of it?

dirty work was a made for comedy central graveyard hours movie

he has no filter. He just says things without thinking of the repercussions. That's his secret.

Politics are always devisive. Hes just playing it easy going which is smart

Jesus christ fucking rape yourself. Either watch the interview or don't. Why should anyone give you a timecode you fucking waste of humanity?

These days, playing it easy-going makes people hate you even more.

normies can't into dry humor (no pun intended)

i already watched the ep and i dont remember that. was hoping you had a rough time.

He's apolitical he has no political affiliation and hates all politicians, he only likes trolling people with politics.

2 sitcoms.

1 "daily show"-type sports show.

1 sketch comedy pilot/special.

he's not underrated. normies don't like his style of humor.

i know. old fag here. his weekend update spots bombed or often got boos and that was way before the sjw-take over in media.

his jokes often cross lines for normies and he doesn't give a fuck and doesn't apologize. that's why he isn't successful.

I dunno i feel like that only happens with far far left people which i dont think is his target audience anyway

I rate it 9/11
reminds me of that tragedy

Can you give some examples? I've only ever watched his podcasts but I can feel that there's more underneath

I remember his interview on the nerdist podcast happened towards the end of the election, and he only started to mention the previous night's presidential debate saying something innocent like, "boy did you see last night's debate? I couldn't take my eyes off the guy" and was immediately cut off by Hardwick's nervous laughter and steered into a different topic.

youtube.com/watch?v=d5kpXhq5nHM

That's because Hardwick is terrified of upsetting one single fan, and also terrified of politics and anything resembling real, adult life.

He's really smart. He's able to apply his actual intelligence to comedy and that makes him a literal comedy genius. He never achieved more because he cares more about gambling and drinking than he does being successful.

I submit as evidence to my claims that time he went all the way to the million dollar question on who wants to be a millionaire but decided to back out of the last question instead of answering it even though he knew the answer because Regis pressured him to.

on the side note, is there any comedian who made fun of Obama? All I see is comedians making fun of Clinton, Bush, and then 8 year of silence.

on weekend update he made jokes about OJ being a killer, michael jackson being a molester, other celeb/politician crap, and the snl studio audience reaction was either shock, silence, or boos. i thought it was hilarious.
old 80s letterman was the same. he often bombed, and the awkwardness made it actually funnier.

if they still have weekend update bits still up on youtube realize they've edited out all the bombing jokes. he was 50/50 laughs or bombs/boos.

Not without it being preapproved and acceptable.
The closest you get is like fucking Jon Lovitz complaining about tax hikes

Weird, isn't it?
There was that one guy, a rodeo clown in some nothing town, who wore an Obama mask during a rodeo. He was fired and sent to sensitivity classes.

norm doesnt drink

Shit then you're really gonna love me!

"I remember back when the Harlem Shake was just a black fella holding me upside-down off a fire escape trying to collect his money"

I found his skit special/pilot!

its pretty bad. enjoy!

> "some gold-plated chains would make a nice retirement gift for a very very good slave"
> super dave's eyes pop out of his skull

It's not "smart" at all, comedians have made careers off political content including Carlin, Colbert, Stewart, etc

Being apolitical is just a choice norm made, don't read anything into it

why would you go around believing what norm says about himself?

15:28

You have to be intelligent to find him funny. That is why he is considered a comedian's comedian rather than a normie entertainer.

Carlin never took one side or the other.
Stewart was good, and now has gone full retard.
Colbert also has a swollen amygdala which has ruined him as a comedian.

Yeah if he got super into politics hed be just like every other "comedian"
He'd lose his charm

Norm is a smart and reasonable guy. He doesn't associate himself with one political group but in the current political climate he would be considered conservative, 20 years ago he was probably considered a liberal.

Lol, carlin absolutely took a side, just not the democratic or republican one. The idea that there are only two sides to politics is an American delusion.

I agree that there are way more than two sides.
I challenge you to identify which side Carlin took, smart guy.

Centrist. Absolute moral high ground but zero applicable solutions to any problem.

Anti-imperialist/anti-capitalist, I might say socialist if I could remember more of his work but he was more of a critic than an evangelist, in any case opposing something is taking a side, even if he did not elaborate on his preferred alternative

In Carlin's own words, the main driving force behind his political philosophy was that "people come before property"

So, nobody important? Hm...

he is boring. most comedians are
