In the thread it was someone saying they didn't understand Irish pronunciation because they didn't live in the UK, which is a different matter entirely.

In all fairness,it took me a while to know how to pronounce it properly as well

It's fair enough that a non-Irish person would have trouble with Irish pronunciation, but the issue here was someone implying that he would be able to understand it if he lived in the UK.

How are you celebrating blessed Traveller Day /éire/?

Have my finest Dutch Gold and wearing my skinniest tracksuit trousers
Might go and have my sister record me talking shit about some other traveller with her phone and upload it to youtube

There was something about traveller culture and Michael D. encouraging the government to make it easier for traveller teenagers to finish secondary school or something.

Desu, you just let it run in the background or overnight. It isn't that difficult, and just pause it if you need the bandwidth.
>only for you and Lux to have moved on by the time I'm done
Maybe you should've downloaded it last weekend then when we asked you? Just a thought, you know.
Don't feel obliged to download it and play though, I'm certainly not in to forcing people to do something they don't want. Especially excruciating things like downloading and installing software (except Linux and VirtualBox because they are worth it).

Me too, perhaps because it feels a bit more casual and there is no actual progression through levels, you can just hop in whenever you feel like it, meaning that even if Prinz and/or someone else were to join us later, there wouldn't be an equipment gap

Also, killing people is very satisfying
>Bit lewd.

I actually feel is though there isn't enough incentive to play in a way. I like how PUBG has done it, all cosmetics, earn points for every game and spent points to get crates with cosmetics.
Seems like there are hardly any cosmetics in Fortnite unless you play.
>You usually don't ask if the other person is "ready"
Good to know. I guess this also follows on from the not asking them to consent to sex in the first place?

Less, but still a good bit.

There's a housing shortage on at the moment.

Is it easy to find someone to share flats with? Surely that would make it more manageable
How much per month does the average person spend? I want to see if I'd be able to live there with a shit job

Well that explains that.

I don't think Varadkar should be allowed do foreign trips because he always acts like an idiot abroad. Let Coveney handle that stuff and keep Leo at home.

Attached: 1518611830370.jpg (375x514, 38K)

The point would be lessened if someone other than the leader of the country went to Washington. What don't you like that he did this time?

>The point would be lessened if someone other than the leader of the country went to Washington
I know. And Coveney might not suck up to world leaders like Varadkar always does. Can't be having that.

>What don't you like that he did this time?
Putting aside that embarrassing disclosure he made about the Doonbeg Golf Course planning row today, Varadkar always looks either bored out of his mind or completely starstruck when he goes anywhere other than to EU HQ.

Like, I'm not one to be foaming at the mouth every time Trump does literally anything, but the way Leo was sucking up to him today when Trump really couldn't care less, it came across as really sycophantic. I was more worried about what Leo was going to say than Trump while watching the news report.

Attached: 1507282351687.png (1020x1242, 1.22M)

>Varadkar always looks either bored out of his mind or completely starstruck

>the way Leo was sucking up to him today
If it makes you feel better it will really piss off the PBP crowd that are always giving out to him in the Dáil for not sanctioning Trump or something.

>Doonbeg Golf Course
Wonder how the trip will go down? Plenty of student protests surely.

>it will really piss off the PBP crowd that are always giving out to him in the Dáil for not sanctioning Trump or something.
Yes, but now they'll just screech even more.

>Wonder how the trip will go down? Plenty of student protests surely.
I will never understand where students find the time and motivation to protest over non-issues.

Attached: 1502677946575.jpg (582x528, 30K)

>I will never understand where students find the time and motivation to protest over non-issues
It's not like they have lectures to attend or assignments to work on or anything.

>completely starstruck
That's a very apt description from the two photos and five seconds of video I watched of him.
Like he treats it as a sort of game, popularity contest or reality TV show, rather than actual politics and that he represents actual people.

>I will never understand where students find the time and motivation to protest over non-issues
To be fair, if he was anywhere near me I'd be out protesting as well. Can't be seen to tolerate such shit.
We're Irish, we have values and we're not going to roll out the red carpet whilst you're out sightseeing your colony.

Attached: 1506249310895.jpg (1700x2000, 1.8M)

I imagine it's mainly people studying meme degrees that attend protests.

I'm not saying I was some model student at college, but my free time was valuable to me. I wasn't going to waste it protesting about non-issues.

>Like he treats it as a sort of game, popularity contest or reality TV show, rather than actual politics and that he represents actual people.
Remember his cringeworthy comment about Love Actually when he went to Downing Street?

>Can't be seen to tolerate such shit.
What shit exactly? The President of the USA visiting Ireland like almost every other president in modern history?

Attached: 1505568799785.png (1216x1076, 1.27M)

>I imagine it's mainly people studying meme degrees that attend protests
Even if they had the time I can't imagine the engineers and physics students attending protests. How many arts students are there in the country do you think?

>How many arts students are there in the country do you think?
There must be a lot because they were everywhere when I was in college. Despite my use of the term "meme degrees", I generally don't like to shit on people based on their course choices (unless they're doing something legitimately stupid like Gender Studies). But it has to be said that many arts degrees are almost like free money for universities because they can often just build a course around classes that already exist for other courses, or just have a bunch of different arts courses sharing the same pool of classes.

Attached: 1492145739355.jpg (775x720, 80K)

>What shit exactly
Everything he does and says, it destabilises Western society and are not the ideals which we have to come to expect from the supposed centre of Western democracy and such.
My issue is Americans, or the large demographic of Americans that Trump represents, think we support them and recognise their "values". They don't seem to actually understand how Europeans think on things. Things like the Britain First incident just go to highlight that, those are completely fringe views.
The leader of Ireland going to Washington, standing beside Trump, smiling and having a great laugh, makes it seem like we approve or tolerate Trump and his ideals, which we overwhelmingly do not.
Mind you, that doesn't mean I totally disagree with the trip to Washington, or his visit here, but if he were to visit I'd certainly be in favour of protests and would attend if I didn't have to drive for more than an hour and there was going to be a monumental crowd there.

Attached: 1500212288975.jpg (800x1131, 337K)

>My issue is Americans, or the large demographic of Americans that Trump represents, think we support them and recognise their "values"
Based solely on what Varadkar did today or for pre-existing reasons?

Also, do you really think the average Trump voter gives a shit what we think of their President?

>I'd certainly be in favour of protests and would attend if I didn't have to drive for more than an hour and there was going to be a monumental crowd there.
This seems like very conditional condemnation.

Attached: 1494950948879.jpg (1180x1054, 332K)

>They don't seem to actually understand how Europeans think on things
I think that's true about Americans in general.

Americans have no idea that their entire lives are completely different than the lives of people in other countries. Things they think are normal, "everyday", or acceptable are anything but once you cross the border.*
t. Someone that has learned this the hard way.
*Canada doesn't count since it's just US-lite.

>Things they think are normal, "everyday", or acceptable are anything but once you cross the border.*
Like being morbidly obese and sharting in the mart?

>Based solely on what Varadkar did today or for pre-existing reasons
Well pre-existing I suppose. They just naturally think their best friends Ireland, the land of my great-great-grandfather, has exactly the same values of them, because we're all Irish right?
This just serves to reinforce it as such. At least Enda made a bit of a speech standing up for the Irish immigrants in such in American, and tried to challenge and stand up to Trump somewhat. Not that I agree with illegal immigrants and such, of course.
Leo just seems a bit awestruck by the whole thing, which is somewhat natural one would imagine.
>This seems like very conditional condemnation
Well otherwise you/ye might accuse me of being a crazy leftie Commie with nothing better to be doing...

>They just naturally think their best friends Ireland, the land of my great-great-grandfather, has exactly the same values of them, because we're all Irish right?
Isn't that just the Irish-Americans, who usually vote democrat anyway? (they are considered a swing demographic though).

>At least Enda made a bit of a speech standing up for the Irish immigrants in such in American, and tried to challenge and stand up to Trump somewhat.
Not that I for a second condone how Varadkar acted today, but Enda was on the way out - he had nothing to lose. It was no secret that he wasn't a fan of Trump anyway.

>Leo just seems a bit awestruck by the whole thing, which is somewhat natural one would imagine.
He should have more cop-on that that.

>Well otherwise you/ye might accuse me of being a crazy leftie Commie with nothing better to be doing...
Nah, I know you're one of those faux-Commies. You won't be attempting to seize any means of production. Can't be bitiing the hand that feeds you.

Attached: 1502824113927.jpg (622x1000, 72K)

First one sure.
They hate paying taxes because they feel the government is just stealing their money, and they see higher tax rates in other countries as an offensive personal attack. While itself mostly true the government is stealing your tax money, that's not true in most developed nations. I give and the community receives (which includes me).
Vegetables are not commonly served; and if they are, they're almost always deep-fried or covered in sugar (see point 1).
To go with that point, Americans think """salad dressing""" is normal when you put olive oil and maybe some seasoning or juice(s) on your salad in Europe.. and everywhere else (vinegar in some areas).
Driving and owning a car is NOT normal not even in Canada. Most Americans don't know public transportation exists or are afraid to use it due to stories of people getting murdered or having something stolen on the bus. There are no passenger trains in the US; I see/hear trains every single day and have never encountered one that carries people.
Many parts of American life are due to """lobbying""" AKA legal public government bribes. Some examples: minimum $100 cell phone bill (my family's is over $200 a month for 4 people), a similar bill for cable (my dad insists on having it) and internet, I'm sure there's less public transport thanks to oil companies and car manufacturers, everyone is required to file their own taxes thanks to companies that could do them for you (this only happens to business owners in real countries), and I'm sure there are others I've forgotten or haven't realised yet.
You can get anyone you know a gift for Valentine's day. Seriously. Everyone I've asked outside of the US (even in the middle east) thinks that's super bizarre. Found this one out by ordering something for a friend in Denmark.
Oh yeah and inches, miles, am/pm, and farenheit. I go out of my way to use proper date format, 24 hour time, and celsius. Fuck being a special snowflake when talking about measurements.

>Isn't that just the Irish-Americans
No, I don't think so. Majority of Americans no doubt are fond of Ireland to some degree.
>who usually vote democrat anyway
Plenty of Irish-Americans in the Trump team. Pence, Bannon, blonde lady and so on. Number of them voting Rep may also be increasing, Pence and/or Bannon family were all Kennedy Union Democrats, changed to Republican.
>It was no secret that he wasn't a fan of Trump anyway
Is anyone a fan of Trump? Weebs and Healy-Raes aside (don't think even they like him, to be fair).
>Can't be bitiing the hand that feeds you
Just you wait desu, the time draws near...

Attached: 1496008138286.png (2480x3507, 2.97M)

>Isn't that just the Irish-Americans
A lot of Americans identify as having Irish heritage. A lot.
>Enda was on the way out - he had nothing to lose
I think you're taking away from Enda's words by implying he only said those things because he was leaving. It's not like he went on a rant about Trump or anything, he just brought up some things about Irish emigrants.
>Can't be biting the hand that feeds you
But how can one hope to be a commie if they don't stop the food coming in?

>I see/hear trains every single day and have never encountered one that carries people
That sounds kind of extreme but many railways around the world have been dying for some time. The American motor industry contributed to its decline.
>24 hour time

To the first point about cars I meant that for other countries. Kids here want their own car as soon as they can drive (~17).
>Well I mean it's not like we say "It's half past 16" in normal conversation.
While I wouldn't word it that way exactly, I would; but I'm a hipster faggot.

>>"Usual Prinz quality, am impressed"
Am very flattered.
>typical nugget of Prinz humour to ruin it all
Do you not like my humour?

>I think that might be a little bit naive
Outside of old WASP propaganda, do you ever hear of Americans at large hating Ireland? I mean they have Paddy's Day parades all around the country, even in areas without large amounts of Irish heritage. I get what you're saying but I don't think the vast majority are just keeping up appearances.

>the fact that he wouldn't have to deal with any potential backlash long-term definitely played a role in his decision
Also the fact he had been to Washington before and was a much more experienced Taoiseach who had to work through difficult years.

>and he has taken a stand on abortion (not exactly as good, but showing leadership, firmness).
