Wut happened?

They clearly didn't use the right Papier-mâché to build the bridge with
This is worst than 911

bridge fall down

aparently a bridge collapsed in florida

Pray for miami
This is 7/11 over again
Bush did 7/11
7/11 was a part time job

Why didn't a good guy with a gun stop this?

If engineers had guns none of this would have happened

The only thing that can stop a bad bridge is a good bridge with a gun

>Florida
ah yes, USA's Brazil

Ok, I know I'm going to get called out for this, but I see you guys post stuff like that ironically all the time, when you really shouldn't be. Most events CAN be avoided if the victim had a gun. If the teachers had guns in Sandy Hook, Adam Lanza wouldn't have killed anybody. If all the people in Aurora had guns, James Holmes wouldn't have killed anybody. There was a story not too long ago about a small child, under the age of 10, who shot and killed their neighbor for not letting them look at their new dog. Now a lot of people ragged on us for that, but what if the neighbor was a criminal? Or a pedophile? The child would be safe, along with many others, because the criminal/pedophile was killed. Yes, I know, sometimes accidents happen that result in loss of life, like the one above, but this is sadly, the price of freedom.

Are you trolling or this is a copypasta?

I'm pretty sure most of the dead are cagers. you can see many flattened cars sticking out under the collapsed bridge.

Nice fucking referal link.

why are you even reading Australian media?

true, the US gov should contract it's military bulletproof vest supplier to provide vests, helmets and backpacks to public institutions

a news article about the collapse linked the tweet.

Of course not

Loading during some steps of construction can be a lot higher than the expected load when in use. Different support conditions, concrete creep and shrinkage etc.
Honestly this construction looks fucking stupid if it was actually built only from concrete.
Pedestrian bridges with spans this large can be built a lot lighter with composite or steel construction since the don't carry a lot of live load.

A couple of Americans started walking on a bridge and it collapsed.

We accuse China of having shitty infrastructure.

Tell me how many US trains crashed last year. Now tell me how many Chinese trains crashed last year.

The answer may surprise you.

Why does so much fucked up shit always happen in Florida?

Name one bridge that collapsed in China with dozens of people on it

I can name two on Thailand.

Also Belgian roads are shit

>Build bridge, not wa-
If they had built a wall, over which people could walk; instead of this too-hard-to-math girders; this would never have happened. And Mexico would have paid for it.

heh

I have no idea. How many trains crashed last year?

God, infrastructure in this country is a joke. I just want nice roads and a high speed rail system.

Bridges (and other huge structures) astound me honestly

It looks like the problem is it's supposed to be cable-stayed but someone decided to put a load on the bridge before the cables were actually installed.

Attached: university-bridge-19.jpg (760x428, 72K)

it looks very different from the plan
was the bridge under construction?

american engineers are a joke

haha holy shit

Pretty populated place
Things are bound to occur there

But why don't I hear similar shit from New York, California, or Texas?

Three. Two amtracks and the Berkshire Hathaway one. Amtrack killed like ten people last year.

China? None. Zero. Nada since 2011.
They even have HSR while we are stuck at 100mph.

Subway runs through it as well

That's what you get when you put quotas for low IQ races + women on engineering schools

This is what happens when you let the government build roads.

I work in Skanska and helped constructing this bridge

>they had to build a new engineering building because the old one started sinking on one side
>there is a pedestrian bridge linking the two engineering buildings together

The chinks at least execute the engineers that fuck up with government money

It's actually interesting, will any modern structure last a thousand years?

With regular and sufficient maintenance some things might, however without that no. If humans just disappeared today a lot of modern structures would be worse of in a thousand years than Roman structures over a thousand years. Although I don’t think it’s fair comparison really, what’s left from the Romans is the stuff that was built well, who knows what was lost.

Not with mutts, niggs and women has engineers

Attached: Aqueduct_of_Segovia.jpg (3446x2412, 1.97M)

>With regular and sufficient maintenance
I bet that the modern infrastructure that requires the least maintenance will outlive that which do need lots of it, on the principle that you just don't know if that maintenance will be done appropriately, with the required frequency, and with the ideal budgets.

No everything is made out of cheap material that won't last nowadays. Stone is stone, metal and glass won't stand up to it when it comes to longevity.
