The continents were named Eurocentircally by Europeans and Europeans don't see how they can be classified as a part of Asia because they let their cultural differences with Asia influence their views of geology and geography.
And yet some Europeans classify North and South America as the same continent although they are both much larger than Europe individually, connected by less land than Europe and Asia, and each have their own tectonic plate unlike Europe.
