Just curious why do Japanese love/obsess over Moomin so much? And how do Finns feel about Japs obsessing over one of their most beloved characters?

Why is Autism so big in Japan?

Very good

>the author Tove Jansson hated Japanese animation since character design was vastly different from his original
because the Moomin animation was made in Japan

Finland and Japan are made for each other.

Those things tend to cause autism

How? Ok I get it, its an island, but still there are like five million in one city, I'm pretty sure they can find someone who is not closely related to reproduce

Not cousin inbreeding, but still inbreeding if you consider there is little to no new DNA coming in. Not a big issue unless it's compounded over thousands of years like Japan during it's isolation periods.

It seems that Finland and Japan have quite a bit in common.

Moomins are loveable and the comics have good teachings even for adults

It's great that they like them, and I welcome all Japanese into our country and hope they will keep buying our products in the future as well

Glorious Nippon

I wouldn't expect high achieving American - who worship gold over everything - to understand. but Moomins are really laid back and chill. Not in a stoner way, but more with zen-like touch to the layers of life.

the Japanese didn’t even exist 2500 years ago, just like how Mexican mestizos didn’t exist 600 years ago

So the Yayoi and Jomon people weren't Japanese?

It's probably a really easy shape to make plushies out of. Sellin' that merchandise.

yeah... probably we love snoopy for the same reason.
We also love them printed on bags, shirts, stationary, etc., though.

Vitun ruma, jopa suomalaiseksi.

>he didn't watch moomin with his mum as a kid

Sad desu

Moomin never caught on in Amurica

Its hard to keep my cool in a Mumin thread

Why?
