Unwavering support for Israel on by the Right seems to be a neo-con phenomenon in America. I read somewhere that this is because Evangelicals (and those who pander to them) dominate neo-cons. And Evangelicals believe that Israel is necessary to bring on the return of Christ and the Rapture, or some bullshit like that.
But a true Conservative wouldn't support Israel, because this support necessarily leads to our continued entanglement in foreign affairs and violence that we have no business being involved in and that threaten our own freedoms at home.
