Michel Thomas isn't a meme, its actually pretty good. Rosetta stone isn't worth your time.
I would also do duolingo, its not great but i use it when i wake up / go to the bathroom etc, so productive downtime. Other than that I would honestly just buy a french dictionary to learn vocab and a basic textbook you can do exercises from. Once you have the basics down you will want to supplement it by doing French stuff. I recommend cooking from French language recipes, listening to French radio/reading news (they have French basic stuff for learners) and shitposting on /fr/ on int.
