Why is the EU anthem in German?
(krauts will defend this)
Why is the EU anthem in German?
Because many of the best composers were Germans
Anthem is instrumental. It is based on Ode to Joy of which the music was composed by a Beethoven but the words were written by someone else.
This , you mongoloid
realy makes you think....
\o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o

The official text is in Latin, isn't it?
youtube.com
No it's not but It very well could be.
I know that EU decided to go with >muh every language included because of practical reasons and to avoid bickering
But Good Fucking Lord not reviving latin language for use in inter-EU relations was such a fucking mistake and a travesty to humanity.
Latin language is THE european heritage if there any ever at all. It should be fucking mandatory on every level of education.
And they're singing in proper church latin instead of the stupid restituta pronunciation. Fuck it sounds great.
Poland should also return to the original XIII century anthem in latin
youtu.be
protestcucks hate latin
>Latin language is THE european heritage
t. catholic cuck
don't you have some refugee feet to kiss?
wrong.
t. Lutheran
Excellent post, mate.
I've had Latin in high school for five years and I definitely wouldn't want to miss it.
I prefer restituta though.
Why would you revive a dead language to help communication instead of you know, using a certain Germanic language almost everyone inside and outside Europe speaks?
Also this. I feel no real attachments what so ever towards latin.
do they really teach you another pronunciation of latin that isn't the italian (church) one?
2bh I don't like church Latin very much, I am actually triggered by it.
I think it sounds like an Italian who tries to speak Latin but hasn't much clue of it. Like Americans trying to speak Italian

>non-italians want to teach italians how to speak latin
Gott strafe England und das treulose Italian!
So beautiful.
Church latin is not italian latin. In Poland we're taught the polish pronounciation of latin which seems to be the same across most slavic nations. The differences are minor though.
We actually pronounce "h"
"g" is pronounced as hard g versus soft g like Italians do.
and "qu" is pronounced "kv" rather than "kw"
>Like Americans trying to speak Italian
That's precisely what I would decribe restituta as.
I actually remember very well that my first contact with pronuntiatio restituta was when I was playing Fallout New Vegas and there was this faction called Legion that larped as Romans in the post-apocalyptic universe of the game.
And they used some latin words but they were pronouncing it wrong (ave was /aweh/, vale became /waleh/ etc).
And I was like - that's fucking awesome, authors of the game made a very realistic guess of what would a tribe of inbred savages emerging from post-apocalyptic tribes with no contact with latin try to pronounce words from latin scripture they found buried in old libraries and was genuinely amazed that they've even thought of this.
Later I learned that this is how americans are taught to pronounce latin and I burst out laughing. Its just sounds so fucking weird man
>Church latin is not italian latin
stopped reading there
t. latin emerged in italian peninsula so everything latin relates to contemporary italy because I suffer from an extremely heavy case of a "non invented here" syndrome.
fuck off
churh latin has not an italian pronou...
oh an it's worth noting that the polish way of pronouncing G is more in line with what it is assumed that period-correct people pronounce it rather than the gay /dʒ/ performed by it*Loids
He pronounces ts in the Polish pronounciation.
At 1:23 he starts the Lord's prayer in which he clearly pronounces the word qui as "kvi" rather than the italian "kwi"
Okay, maybe we mean something similar. Here in Germany church Latin (Protestants mockingly call it Monk Latin) is always seen as a contrast to classical Latin. I thought that Restituta was "modern" classical Latin.
What we call church Latin is very similar to the Italian emphasis.
>Fallout New Vegas
I didn't know that. But I'm amazed that the creators added such a fraction. And here the pronunciation fits.
In my personal experience, however, I must say that Americans rarely try to pronounce other languages correctly.
But the Commission and Germany could arrive to the meeting with different approaches.
The German official said that there is “some room for discussion” and suggested that Altmaier could bring some proposals to the negotiating table, but did not give further details.
However the Commission insists that the Union “will not negotiate our exemption”, an official said.

Because e""""u"""' is their bitch
And the italian went off to kill himself because da best pope kept it REAL nigga.
>"kvi" rather than the italian "kwi"
in italian there isnt a difference between w and v. alo he pronunced it in perfect italian
It is not, but it should be I think. It's sad to have an anthem and to not be able to sing it
To be fair they're singing it with a German accent (ex. Oiropa instead of Europa)
Just face it, Enzo, Italian Latin is shit-tier. 4/10 at best
I learnt restituta pronunciation as well
>in italian there isnt a difference between w and v
But there is a difference in english, which is the language we're currently talking in.
Damage control.
