Not out of contempt, don't get me wrong. I've had a great time with this board over the past few years. I've lurked and posted almost daily in that time. Sup Forums has been a significant part of my life and has shaped who I am, but I feel it's time to pass on the torch.
It really is amazing how much this place has changed. All the happenings, the memes, the raids, the banter, the new and the old. The ebb and flow of ideas is no better captured by this place.
It's come to the point where I just scroll through this board out of habit. The kick I used to get out of it is gone. Maybe I've just aged, who knows.

In the end, you don't come here for the news, none of us do. We come here to get the illusion of being informed, which facilitates the feeling of security as well as a sense of solidarity with each other. Someone's always making a humorously cynical comment, or advertising their semi-significant post with pictures of Ron Paul, or making some sort of controversial remark. We get to watch these things bounce around, feeling like some holier-than-thou spectator, wondering why the world is so full of negativity and conflict, because on this board, it looks that way. This is a gloomy place, filled with infinite windows to the next dramatic example of humanity's weakness. But here, we see that we aren't so bad. See you tomorrow.
