We need Horror suggestions

Are there any horror movie buffs here? Me and my friendo wanna watch a horror movie. We do have some rules, though.

>We do not want any pseudo horror movies that take a more psychological approach to horror.
>We want a spookass movie, preferrably with monsters, ayy lmaos, or ghosts.
>Human monsters like serial killers can count if the movie is considered scary enough.
>We are extremely desensitized to the classics like The Shining, The Exorcist, etc. Those are great movies, but they do not scare us.
>We prefer if the movie is on netflix, although every suggestion is considered and appreciated.

We are desperate to get legitimately scared. Can you help us, Sup Forums? Sorry if we are too picky. We want to make sure we are getting spooked.

I created that skeleton gif.

No movies are scary unless you allow yourself to be spooked, user. You can always simply remind yourself that this is a film designed to entertain and break any sort of spook immersion.

That being said, I like (parts) of v/h/s 1 and 2, too bad other parts are super shite to the point of ruining the spook.

VHS1 vampire and ayylmao are legitimately terrifying

OP, have you seen The Poughkeepsie Tapes? They are disturbing

Well, I have no way of knowing if that is true, but if so, cool gif friendo.

OP here. Dude that fucking movie was awesome

Who's we? The Strangers is one of the few films I found to be legitimately scary.

Me and my friendo

Also, how do you feel about gore?

The Butcher, Korean film, is pretty stomach-churning IMO even if it's pretty much torture porn.

There hasn't been anything scarier than the Shining or the Exorcist in the past 20 or so years that hasn't been 90% psychological, there have been some terrifying psychological horrors (Jacob's Ladder, The Mothman Prophecies, Under the Skin) but if that's not what you're after then you wont find any movie that can spook you anymore
Crucify me if you will but my honest advice, get a PC and play Penumbra or Silent Hill or Outlast or something, in the dark. Horror is the one and only genre video games do better than movies and literature because you have to actually go into the spooky room yourself, manually, you can't just shut your eyes and let it play out, you have to actually face your fear

The others spooked me good when I was a lad. I'm quite certain it would spook me again

Gore is pretty coolio, but does not inherently mean horror. Thanks for the suggestion.

OP here, good suggestions and I respect your opinion. I am into horror games.

Have you seen The Grifter?

I have heard of that before, good suggestion

I like audition but it doesn't really fit your criteria, plus the pacing is slow as fuck.

Last Shift on Netflix surprised me. Nothing particularly revolutionary, but pretty well done with good visuals and actually got me a couple times.

He's lying I created it.

Rip, no proof no nothin', B

could still be alright, thanks for the suggestion
I was wondering about that one, thank you

Babadook, I liked it.

There's hidden spanish gem called
The Baby's Room
I know it sounds bland as fuck, but its very solid movie with good characterers and good buildup.

>on Netflix
sheiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Man VS is alright kinda, can't tell you why it is kinda shit without spoilers
Babadook is comfy spoopy with slow pacing
Houses October Built is kinda cheesy with an ok aesthetic with a comfy payoff
the V/H/S trilogy is hit and miss because of the anthology feel, but when it hits it is fucking s p i c y, first two are the best but 3 has some comfy content
Archivo 253 looks like it might be ok, havent watched it yet though planned to this weekend

If you can handle the pacing of Audition (which really is fantastic, btw), Kill List is another good one that unexpectedly goes from 0-to-Batshitwhatthefuckishappening.

>Kill List
checked and rekt, Kill List is so goddamned good

Jacob's Ladder (1990)

user pls, the memories are coming back, i don't need this shit right now man I watched that as a kid

...

tourist trap

> Sitting on comfortable couch
> with group of friends
> C'mon tv screen, spook me
You has to be 12. Video games do spook job better.

Recently watched the green inferno and was pretty good. Kinda funny too. Slow to get to the horror aspects though

Hellraiser is fucking great, and often gets forgotten in horror generals

It comes at night was edge of your seat tier, but not ayyy lmaos or anything

[Rec] is a personal favourite
