...

He didn't defeat shit, it fell apart from the inside.

what are you trying to communicate based Hungary?

>USSR
>Defeated
Putin only needs an excuse and he will start picking off ex-soviet countries piece by piece. He's already started.

Reagan didn't really use any sort of special tactics either. He simply outspent them heavily.

>reagan
>defeated USSR
ayyyy USSR imploded on itself because of oil prices, chernobyl expenses, and afghanistan fail together with failed idea of gommunism
murica has nothing to do with collapse of ussr

>He didn't defeat shit, it fell apart from the inside.

the real person to blame is Rooservelt and Truman they should have massacred the reds at the end of the war

>Implying Ukrane dosent belong to Russia

do you mean that abomination of butthurt cunt trees called BRICS? anyway russia don't have money to pick up ex-soviet countries
they will be lucky if china don't take siberia and they will be lucky not to have third mudslime chimpout on caucassus

he didn't defeat it, at least not alone
also i just wanted to bump with that 10/10 pic

Claiming Reagan "defeated" Soviet Union is silly but so is ignoring how much trying to keep up with America in the arms race hurt the commies

>oil prices
The pleb does not know the Reagan administration made an agreement with the Saudis to saturate the market with oil in the 80's to collapse the USSR economy
>afghanistan fail
The pleb does not know the Reagan administration armed the rebels that defeated the Russians in Afghanistan

That's like saying the USA belongs to the UK.
To a certain extent, sure. If he takes smaller territories over a longer period of time though, it's more manageable. It didn't work with Georgia, but with Crimea it certainly did.

>at least not alone
agreed based Bill Casey and George Shultz were deeply involved

>Sup Forums doesn't give Reagan credit for choking USSR economy with arms and space race

that's why ukrainians fighting with russians and wannabe russians on eastern Ukraine?

here's the true hero who crashed that plane... with no survivors

why are you still up, bro?
Sup Forums is a scary place at night. The average IQ ~15 points lower

>It didn't work with Georgia
they lost also some territory like Osetia and Abkhazia and with that pace in Ukraine it will be russian somewhere around 2800

Did Reagan summon meme magic?

>implying we won
>implying we haven't become irreversibly subverted in our own nations by cultural marxism

>le Gorbachev ended the cold war meme
Yea he ended it because he couldn't compete with the Reagan Administration anymore

>Why do people still shit on Reagan when when defeated Americas most powerful enemy

Because he gave citizenship to several million illegals and hastened the degeneration of American society itself.

That's because it's daytime in Shartland, they keep lowering the IQ levels dramatically

>Sup Forums is a scary place at night.
It's night only for yuropoors

Capitalismâ„¢ finds a way.

>That's like saying the USA belongs to the UK
More like the other way around when you think about it

Having trouble falling asleep lately

he ended it by saying USSR is no more
absolute madman.
then again he's now in US of Ayy so there's room for tinfoil hat theories and conspiracies

>hastened the degeneration of American society itself.
How? He didnt even give a shit when all those fags were dying of their degeneracy driven GRIDS

this, listen to yuri bezmenov
problem is, nobody won, marxism is a road straight off the cliff.

congratulations

yes sadly. shart genocide when

Why is Sup Forums so dumbed down when all the mart sharters are online?

Minimal shitposting when it's euro time and you can actually have an intelligent discussion.

This was already the case right after the break up.
Unbeknown to most Americans, the straw that broke the camels back were the various ethnic tensions and conflicts that sparked over the USSR as central authority and order faded with Gorbachev's reforms.

Western press likes to meme about Russia starting all these pseudo conflicts when they are real and begun long ago, Russia just uses them to its need.

Cold war ended in 1989.
Gorbachev, well Yeltsin actually ended USSR in 1991.

>That's like saying the USA belongs to the UK.

Ukraine was the nucleus of Russian territory for a thousand years.

Millions of Ukrainians identify as Russian, often speaking it as their first language. Combined with border desputes due to poor administrative boundaries from the soviet era Putin actually has a pretty good claim for intervention.

Hey bud I'm diaspora from Russia year away from murican citizenship so there's not need for that tone.
tension and conflicts were fueled by Russia (ammo and weapons for rebels, supplies, intelligence, training) and all of the russian presidents since the collapse of USSR were supporting those "causes".
Basically it's important for Russia to have neighbours with weak economies or in a constant state of war.

Rus != Russia

>Millions of Ukrainians identify as Russian
yeah and all of them are located in those regions that now have military conflict
wew lad putain surely defended """his""" own ethnic russians or wannabe russians with ukrainian/soviet passports

lol this dude looks like me

Ukraine is a non-country. Western parts belong to Poland, eastern ones to Russia.

reagan didn't do fucking anything

And then they really ruined those countries with their jew economic "advisors" going out there

The whole cold war was a massive sham

America LOST to cultural marxism, now we're the reds

fucking hell he even was born exactly 100 years earlier

You being Russian diaspora really doesn't add anything to this.
>tension and conflicts were fueled by Russia (ammo and weapons for rebels, supplies, intelligence, training) and all of the russian presidents since the collapse of USSR were supporting those "causes".
This is how the world works, it's not some special Russian quirk, that was my entire point.
>Basically it's important for Russia to have neighbours with weak economies or in a constant state of war.
No, what's important for Russia is to have leverage over geographically and strategically important neighbors. Fueling a conflict limited to that area is one of the most effective techniques, as you can see by the middle east.

Strong neighbors are desirable for any country as long as those neighbors don't align themselves with your biggest geopolitical and military threat .

I know you're memeing but Ukrainian national identity pretty much came from the feeling of alienation caused by mistreatment of Ruthenians and Orthodox Poles by Commonwealth's corrupted and over-privileged nobility. Serfdom was bad in general, but the poverty caused by it in the eastern part of the Crown was just awful. The uprising against Szlachta should've been nation-wide, not just limited to Sich. Maybe then we would've actually had a country in 19th century.

He didn't defeat jack fucking shit. The GDR was growing more upset about their lack of freedom. One day (9th of november, 1989) the people decided to peacefully protest at the Brandenburger gate. The lack of communication with the communists actually made the border guards relent, and decided to let one of them (some old hag who had more guts than any of the other cucks in the other germany) cross it, and people just started going through. But literally all of them returned in the same night, claiming they only wanted their freedom to leave, instead to actually leave their homes behind, no matter how bad it was in the GDR.
youtube.com/watch?v=3bN9ZRj3NBs
After that, everything started to fall apart in the country and the ties to the communists broke.

America needs a powerful enemy my friend.

>America defeats the Soviet Union
>Breaks the balance of power in the world
>Liberals and democrats are left without their precious Evil Empire bogeyman
>Without anything to keep them in check they start pushing for more and more extreme and ridiculous issues (gay rights, multiculturalism, Islamization)
>The West collapses on itself
Toppest kek

West has devolved after the Cold War. No one cares about economics and policies anymore, the 21st century """"marxists"""" haven't even read Marx, they don't know shit about any struggle. I mean, for the love of God, the current leftism doesn't even come from the working class but from the academia. People don't understand capitalism or socialism anymore. It's horrifying to see academics' identities revolve around their race and religion these days. We've been reduced to what we are at birth.

>located in those regions that now have military conflict

...well duh? But man, these issues aren't just memed up by Putin.

Ukraine has long historical ties to Russia. The whole boundary between Russia and Ukraine is very grey, there isn't even a clear cut between the languages, near the borders it's a Russian/Ukrainian hybrid language.

Not to mention over the last two centuries Ukraine was systematically and unintnetially Russified, ethnic Russians were brought in to Crimea, then industrial cities in Stalin's time. Boundaries of Ukraine were only set post WW2 under the assumption it would remain with Russia.

>there isn't even a clear cut between the languages,
and you probably know both of them like I do to tell difference.

ethnic russians were brought to Crimea somewhere in 19th century before that it was uninhabited mostly territory with some turks and tatars and only in 50s-60s ukrainians were forced to move there to develop infrastructure.

It's not daytime retard

>and you probably know both of them like I do to tell difference.

My mother's from Sumy, Ukraine and my father from Moscow. The language thing is something I'm familiar with.

The language between Russia and Ukraine changes by region, on how close to either it is. In the middle it's neither Ukranian or Russian. This is similar on a cultural level. before the recent Russian diaspora in Ukraine it was already vague on establishing who was a real Russian and who was a real Ukranian, especially in the east.

For a long time Ukranians were simply referred to as "little Russians." I'm not saying Ukraine isn't real. But if ever there was a place for ethnic troubles Ukraine seems the best place for i

Even the spokesman for russian minorities dosent want to join russia here

His wife was a crazy witch and he was a stooge

>murica has nothing to do with collapse of ussr

>afghanistan

>oil prices

>reagan

>America defeats the Soviet Union
a Pyrrhic victory. we sacrificed our universities

>For a long time Ukranians were simply referred to as "little Russians."
referred by russians lol

>it was already vague on establishing who was a real Russian and who was a real Ukranian, especially in the east.
not especially but only on the east and in crimea
but oh well hope they enjoy that special kremlin love and treatment

Check out John Le Carre's books about the Cold War intelligence services, namely the Karla Trilogy of novels. Great spy (semi) fiction writen by a guy who worked for MI6. Gives good flavour for what the Cold War was like.

It's slow, dry, and demands your full attention, but it's authentic (seeming) as fuck.
