>Is
Was

Today the same place is probably a ghetto with mexican criminals and drug addcits

If you were a WASP, definitely

I'd like being an abusive functional alcoholic 50s US cop. Beating niggers by day, wife and children by night.

It is kinda weird how in 3 decades, Americans became people who considered niggers as niggers to nigger-lovers.

I love you

Niggers had jobs at that time, now they just rob ppl on the streets.

>had jobs
>great depression
lad

>great depression
>50s

What depression in post-WW2 US?

Oh whoops, thought that pic was from the great depression

what the fuck went wrong

Attached: 342.gif (500x500, 1.29M)

Hold on boys I was talking about the picture, it's from the great depression

What town is this? Would like to see what it's like today.

Only if you were White

unironically directed cultural manipulation

Not even, you had to have majority Anglo Saxon ancestry, a Biblical name, and practiced Protestantism

That picture is not from the 30's you retard.

The 1950s actually had more spartan living standards than is generally believed--recovery from the Depression was slow. By the 60s, things were booming in part because Europe had completed recovery from WWII and trans-Atlantic trade was fully rehabilitated.

If you were white or looked white, middle class, a post GI, and weren't some kind of weirdo
then 50s America was probably really nice

probably was pretty boring though. If I had lived during the 50s I'd probably go climb mountains to stave off boredom

Then why you post great depression picture in 50s thread?

Yes it is u knobhead 1937 (I think at least)

You replied to that picture, why not reply to the OP thread in general if you weren't talking about the pic?

the 1950s weren't the 1890s, there were plenty of rat bastard catholic irish-italian mutts wandering around suburban communities

That poster was used in 50s to represent American values over "wrong" socialists values

It's from the Depression--the car in the poster is 1930s, not '50s.

dumb ivan twat

It's also just a very famous photo, there's a lot written about it if people want to look into it

>The dog doesn't have a gun
You disappoint me

The cars are clearly from the 50s, stop

>50s USA looks so aesthetic. Is is really great place to live?
It's just kodachrome.

Juden

Harvard pointheads in the government actually believed Khrushchev's boast that the USSR would overtake America by 1980. The inherent failures in a command economy never occurred to these guys and anyway, the '50s was a time when centralized government was in fashion. They also complained that Americans were lazy and materialistic and we needed more nuclear power plants and submarines instead of TVs and cars with tail fins. In a 1959 interview, Admiral Hyman Rickover complained that the American school system was shoddy and we should instead copy the Swiss system and have longer school years.

>nuclear fucking everything

Yes

>50s USA looks so aesthetic. Is is really great place to live?
Supposedly but I wasn't alive then. You could support a family as middle class with only a high school degree. You could be a dropout and still support a family but at a lower class level. A lot of neighborhoods were safer and not locking your door and leaving the keys in the visor wasn't a meme. On the other hand kids had to practice nuclear drills for when Ivan lost his mind.

No.

It still looks like a nice town.

>If you were a WASP, definitely
If you were anything remotely white and not a communist it was.

>Not even, you had to have majority Anglo Saxon ancestry, a Biblical name, and practiced Protestantism
That must explain why my father's ethnic German/Scottish/Irish family was upper middle class. Because they were Anglos.

My mother's father was a h.s. dropout and WW2 vet whose parents were Polish immigrants (his father actually had hidden Jewish roots) and still managed to be at least be working class with a house and new cars. They'd be fucked these days.

It was the pre-rapeugees Scandinavia of the time

My grandfather came back from Korea and the only jobs he could get were low wage factory ones--it was another 7-8 years before the good aerospace industry jobs opened up.

That was in the 1930s.

They obviously didn't have things like cell phones or 21st century medical care, but considering what the capabilities of the time were, we had a really high standard of living between 1945-1974 or so. Wages were much higher and unionization was much stronger. Consumer power was strong so an average working man working at a factory could afford a car, house in the suburbs, consumer gadgets like TV and radio, and the basics for supporting a family.

Irish and Italian people were fairly integrated at the time. Housing contracts still could segregate Protestants from Catholics though.

Not really, it was mostly because the US controlled most of the world's manufacturing for about 20-25 years after WWII. And as I noted, .

Did you know that real GDP growth in the 50s averaged only 2% a year and there were three recessions? (1953-54, 1958, and 1960).

>Bob's Army store changed into Bob's Outdoor
Hmm.

Many neighborhoods until the late 60s forbade blacks and Jews from living in them and entertainers who had overly Jewish or Eastern European-sounding names had to Anglicize them.

Fucking hell. One thing they kept unchanged all these years was the Cola billboard.

Small towns in flyover country change very slowly with the times.

I assume the wife and dog just don't open carry.

2 major recessions, standard of living was shit compared to today, lead in everything, it was not a good time.

Depending on where you lived, the 30's though the early 90's sucked. The 90's things got better for a while than turned to shit again in '08. Things have gotten a little better.

t. East KY escapee

>things look better on the silver screen
Who would have thought.

that is photoshopped

also, the original photo is from relief given to a block of homes after a fire

(((They)))

Muh military complex.

America was beautiful before niggers and Mexicans destroyed it.

Depends. If you were:

>non-white
>poor
>female (HUGE addiction to mental health medications because they were trapped as homemakers with little to do)
>gay
>southern
>appalacian
>didn't want to work in a factory all day but couldn't afford a higher education
>rural
>wanted a life with more meaning than slaving away in a factory and having a wife with the mental age of a child

Then it was pretty shit. The 50's was good for 'simple living' types who were born into areas with jobs, but that's about it.

Attached: slug.jpg (300x120, 11K)

JAJAJAJAJ fuck you

America was beautiful before wewuzzing NEETs started to destroy it.

Europe rebuilt itself, Asian countries also grew manufacturing. If you wanted it to be the 50s-60s ways all the way, America should have had constant proxy Wars throughout Europe and Asia, just enough to level the manufacturing but stable enough for wageslavery.
