What does Sup Forums think about The Art of War?

What does Sup Forums think about The Art of War?

Is it red pilled?

Garbage generic obvious war advice, like "don't let your enemy see your true plans" and "have good supply lines" and "fight your enemies using tactics" and "make sure your troops don't hate you". It's literally a fucking ancient chinese secret meme book, don't bother with it.

never read it.. stopped on the part where he talked about how he trained the female soldiers to march and never found time to continue..

seems like a good book though

No thanks. Dated material.

it's mayhbe common sense to you family, many struggle with it

fpbp
OP if you want good milstrat books read "Attacks" by Erwin Rommel

Why would anyone value his advice?

"the art of war: by random general who never achieved anything worth mentioning"

>generic
Would it qualify as generic if it was one of the first or does that just mean everything afterwards was a cheap imitation?

Shouldn't be too hard to find books where the authors apply it to modern political or military conflicts, give one of those a try instead if you must.

48 laws of power is the only pol material needed at this moment

What good book you can recommend me on this topic burger user?

UNLESS IT'S A FARM

wait......

I need the most red pilled book you have

I recommend pic related just because how much it pisses off the leftists

The fact that the earth revolves around the sun is obvious fact now, but it was once revolutionary

As is with this. I'd say give it a couple read throughs, it's not too long and you can download it for free in multiple places, or get it probably for less than a buck on the google play store (I just got Plato's Republic for 20 cents). The official versions are better because they offer annotations and different opinions from professors and generals and the like.

The album is Sabaton's best

They should make children read it in elementary school.

lol get a load of this dumb faggot pretending like he knows jack shit about any fucking thing.

toppest of keks.

sounds intriguing, should i get the PDF or audio version from piratebay :)

Better stragedy book

the one i mentioned and his counterpart "War As I Knew It" by George s Patton is a great insiders read on the mind of a stratagem

>a literal rip off of the Art of War and The Prince, written by a jew

stay blue-pilled faggot.

If you haven't read On War by Carl Von Clausewitz you don't know fucking shit about anything.

>Mao
> Step 1: kill off all the birds

>cool cover
Tldr?

>referencing The Prince like its some sort of worthy piece, and not a load of egocentric garbage

>implying that the globalists aren't Orwellian Machiavellians.

Come the fuck on

>tl;dr
War forces nearly all technological progress

Babby's first military theory book. If you like your strategic advice to sound like a fortune cookie, have at it.

Clausewitz is better.

t. West Point grad

>t. West Point grad
Shut up POG

Chinese military history is filled with hilariously one sided defeats where they have massive advantages in resources, manpower, and technology and lose anyways. I'd say Sun Tzu didn't know shit.
This really. If you really want to read a book about "war" go for Carl von Clausewitz OP, Prussians know their shit.

Haha what a waggud. This can't be true

I hear he's like the Chinese Prince Matchabelli.

>OP if you want to be edgy like the rest of us read this Nazi book

Totally garbage compared to any other Chinese classics, such as Chuang Tzu. The Art of War is only popular because it's simple enough for normies to feel good about themselves and pseudo-intellectual enough to feel substantial.

So that explains why vietnam won

No. It's not that great... most of what Sun Tzu says is obvious... the book got popular not because of its content, but because of its origin. Westerners prized Oriental thought as being deep and wise.

>simple enough for normies to feel good about themselves and pseudo-intellectual enough to feel substantial.
Implying that's always a bad thing though

Spoiler alert* he decapitates one

he said worse things, like that he wont """recite PI to the 19th DECIBEL to win the election"""

I read that far.. they marched perfectly afterwards

It's bad because it lacks substance. Sun Tzu is "feel good" pseudo-philosophy. Kind of reflective of our current culture, no wonder it's more popular today than ever.

its common sense that alot of people dont seem to have.

The main lesson I got from Art of War was just to randomly kill your own men for minor infractions to keep them in line

Some stories from the book:

>General leads army through town
>Tells them not to loot it or disturb anyone
>Soldier takes leaf from tree to shield his eyes
>Executed on the spot

Another one

>General demonstrates his training style to the emperor
> Uses the Emperors concubines as a mock army
>Gives them instructions
>They don't take it seriously
>Behead the Emperors favourite ones so the rest stop joking around

There are a bunch more that follow this pattern

I read it a year ago and felt dumb because most things were so damn obvious to me.

Eh, I always thought it was popular not because of substance but because he's good at word play and making irrelevant things sound profound. I might be giving too much credit to the plebs though

Too Chinese.

He was killed for being anti-Nazi you stupid fag

Rommel is pretty recognized as an excellent general, it has nothing to do with Nazi's. Even Patton acknowledged this.

I didn't get the feel-goods when I read it over.
Nor do I get the feel-goods when I read Bruce Lee's material on fighting.

I get the sense of, "Oh shit.. I will have to, as i'v always known, to get my knuckles busted and bloody to accomplish my task. Sacrafice and pain are necessity to success and accomplishment. There are infinite possibilities, but the truth is not good story material nor photogenic, it simply is."

Basically you gotta crack some eggs to make a fucking chili kind of deal.

Reading it right now, it's mostly applied game theory, strategic theory that is always true (except every exceptions) and advices pointless in an age where any concentration of troops is a plea to get "rod of god"'d from orbit.

Still a good read.

No wonder chinks don't win most gold medals while trying the hardest. Harsh discipline only gets you so far.

Quran is wayyyyy better

Not as much as "The Subtle Ruse: The Book of Arabic Wisdom and Guile"

Sun tzu isnt only battle related. KBG agents read it as a part of their curriculum to prepare them for deception of foreigners

Well, yeah.
Now we should just follow that advice and start killing feminists and niggers randomly so they get in line.
I think he was onto something

come on dude, they only have some disciplines in which they can be competitive whilst being manlets

It's stupid shit

either the advice is obvious "faced with the threat of death. soldiers will fight better" or it's retarded and not applicable to modern times "if there are crows on the enemies citadel, it has been abandoned"

only stupid hipsters take it seriously. Read the Three Kingdoms if you want real chinese literature

It's on my list of short good books to read when I'm stuck waiting around with nothing to do. Currently working down "Between two Ages" by Zbigniew Brezinski.

maybe

Come on, it's mostly pretty bad, except for the first few parts involving the ruses of God, Angels and prophets, which are hilariously silly.

>pseudo-intellectual

Why do idiots keep using this term? There is nothing pseudo about the book.

There are tons of manlet disciplines and weight classes where they can excel. If it was free for all, I would understand this argument but we even seperate men from women. You won't find many fly weight 1,60m balkan people, which is also kinda "unfair".

Your way of thinking led to the results of pic related

General Rommel commanded the respect of friend and foe alike. Rare to see people like him, but you do see some throughout history such as him, Saladin, and others. He was a brilliant general and also treated his enemies as humanely as possible. Hitler got rid of him after all. It's not like Rommel was a hardcore Nazi or anything. It's like you think 100% of the German populous was pure evil during WWII or something. If you have seen Gundam that's who they based Ramba Ral off of and he was bro as fuck.

Also you should learn something that hits prime targets like the US before your part of the world. They are breeding superchinks now. Most of them are still tiny lightweights, but it's increasingly typical to come across one that's as tall and built like the chink equivalent of a strapped black dude.

You will be seeing more of this in the future.

I prefer this one.

>You see, killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down

cant stop progress bro.. maybe they could breed women with testicles to dominate the women disciplines

well yeah, but more disciplines are better suited for taller people

And the Chinks lost to Vietnam after the US left. Nothing to do with the art of war when the country that made the art of war lost

vietnam = chhina

Faggot

>showing modern tech
>thinking it'd go the same way today
>being this retarded

>Garbage generic obvious war advice
Maybe because that publication set the precedent? Honestly don't know why I'm surprised a dense Sup Forums fuckwit thinks this way, of course you do.

>Is it red pilled?

wtf do you mean by that? it gives legit advice, with some things that are outdated and some that are too idealized. If you have a brain then you can use that info to benefit your own career.

>A country with more man power, more tanks, more air support, more everything

>loses against a country of farmers

>Being this retarded to accept this but saying that things today would go differently

Jesus,,,, how much idiot can you be?

Honestly it seems like a lot of "What to do in a best-case scenario where nothing has gone wrong for you".

His advice seems pretty fucking useless when you're at any kind of actual disadvantage.

Am I right?

exactly

>Thermal tech, policy that allows us to kill in other countries and 40 years seperation to learn how to fight guerrillas.
Yeah it would be a different outcome

This is somewhat accurate but at the same time I find TAoW really interesting as a window into ancient China, like the fact these niggers had to be told not to treat their soldiers like complete shit and this rather simple advice led to them turning Tzu into a god-like figure. And then the fact that even today people read through it and say things like, "This really turned around my business and taught me how to be a better manager!"

Romance of the Three Kingdoms is mostly propaganda written by a faggot Shu apologist jewcuck

The fact that you still lose against a bunch of gooks is laughable, especially when you had much more of pratically everything.

It's all because of the Jews, really. They would still be a tiny people living in squalor if not for the Jews.

He was involved in the plot to assassinate Hitler
>flag
oh whoops
(you)

Also if our people weren't such anti war cucks we could have won back then, the tet offensive crippled the southern forces. We were on a winning path.

>Be General is the Wehrmacht, the normal military
>Being labeled a National Socialist 80 years later
>thanks post war propaganda

I mean seriously, how am I supposed to be impressed by him?

He only tells me how to win when nothing has gone unexpectedly wrong for me.

I'd be much more in awe of him if he could tell me how to repel a surprise attack where the enemy has numerical superiority.

...

If it helps Rommel is pretty well reveared here in the states

Citing yourself doesn't relly help your argument

this book is what made that shit obvious you idiot

No, we wouldn't have won. We still needed a political settlement and the South Vietnamese regime was hated. In the end, it would have fallen anyway.

maybe he was referring to the border war of 79 ?

maybe you are the faggot?

Not redpilled, Art of War gives more of an outline that leads into redpills though.

The fact that you still jobbed it against a bunch of Abyssinians is laughable, especially when you had much more of practically everything.

Funny thing is, the relevant Nazis and military officers, hell often even the wehrmacht and SS itself, are often "well revered" (if one could call it that)... except in Germany. I wonder why....

If you notice i cited myself and your comment because i forgot to cite you the very first time.

Maybe youre the faggot for losing more than 58000 man against some farmers?

There it is, the leaf that talks without knowing history. Another shitpost i guess.

Fucking leaf.

this one is good for daily life

this one too

wtf are you on about?

the Italians wrecked Ethiopia, they only became free after WW2 when the Brits and French liberated the region

the Abyssinian's didn't do jack shit

Dumbfuck doesn't know about the war between Vietnam and China, what do they teach you in school over there? How to please ahmed cock?

It was plagiarized in the creation of the qu'ran.
