Because to tell the full story would be to dismantle the entire japanese government. The Yakuza are embedded so deeply into japanese politics that it would be the end of their current regime its so bad.

Tokyo Drifter is yakuzakino

Don't worry Yakuza kino is coming

I can't remember the last time I watched a show or movie about the Yakuza. It's honestly a shame because they're more interesting than the Cartel.

just play the games

second post i've seen tonight that mentioned this movie.
looks like i have to watch it

It's not the same. I want a serious show, just imagine a show with the same caliber as The Sopranos but detailing various Yakuza clans in the 80s along with other interesting things like the vibrant biker scene that existed in Japan at the time.

That was me though. I have it on my mind for some reason.

Play the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku games. Pic related.

>Yakuza drama with only two characters
Hollywood isn't ready

This. They control all the pornography in Japan as well.

Just watch the battles without honor and humanity series

...

Refn is a big fan of 80s Jap gangster films, he was going to deliver unto us yakuzakino with the avenging silence and complete the autistic goose trilogy but cancelled it in favour of a cop drama with miles teller.

why can't they get it uncensored

cause that's the law

>Tfw no more Japanese Yakuzakino like this in the boring year 2017 AD.

NOOOOOOOO

THIS ISNT FAIR

REF WAS SUPPOSED TO SAVE CINEMA

This

>Miles Teller

why would they want to kill their own market for uncensored pornography?

You need to be a true degenerate to go up to some court and lobby for uncensored porn. That takes some guts because you'll be forever known as the guy who liked jerking off so much he's changed laws to get better jerk off material.

kek. Truly the People's Champion

You CANNOT make movie/series/games about Yakuza without being "consulted" first about how to portray them.

Yakuza game series is prime example of this.

the surgeries would be expensive
the nihonjin or the japanese as i like to call them are born with pixelated genitals

But there's already plenty of Yakuza kino...

waiting for Outrage 3

Just watch the next best thing: triad kino

>its a pleb knows nothing about japanese cinema of the 1960s & the 70s thread

>there will never be a kino about the 14K

Is there some kind of box set torrent my man, I can't seem to find anything reliable, or more than a single movie?

Fukasaku is great pic related is one of my favorites

When Asians become intimidating.

When we speak their language.

yeah on one hand you'll be that guy, on the other hand you'll be "that guy"

do you care about the quality?

There aren't any Jap gangsters with the same level of fame in the US as Escobar. Narcos also appeals to American audiences because of proximity and how closely it relates to our problems like the war on drugs, not to mention the involvement of the DEA.

>americans can only relate to sweaty mexicans

atleast we have yakuza games

>14K
Never heard of these chinks. Just wiki'd them, and they seem legit as fuck. Crazy how low notoriety they are for being that big.
also
>Allies with terrorist organization
fucking hell

This the only famous asian criminal i can think of is shrimp boy

Just watch some Kitano movies
Hana-bi, Sonatine and the two Outrage are just pristine yakuzakino

How the fuck am I only just hearing about this film?

sounds great

honestly, nobody does it like Kitano.

Also, some unknown yakuza kino, Another Lonely Hitman

youtube.com/watch?v=z-CjLgPJ8Zo

This gets little love.

>Chow is the only co-defendant of 29 to publicly profess his innocence and ask for an expedited jury trial.

Lol. Guess he was eager to get out of jail and into prison

>get a book on the Yakuza

>Billed as the best english language book every written on the subject

>first 200 pages are boring recaps of fascism, communism and the CIA

>next 200 pages are about unions and politicians

>last 100 pages are brief overview of their criminal behavior

Very gay. Very, very gay.

They're basically just Yellow Nazis meets the Sopranos with more corruption and less shooting each other. Rip off.

Early Yakuza would be interesting too. All of the fascism/samurai/CIA/war criminal stuff.

They could do like 5 seasons, with some characters carrying over at different ages.

Pre WW2 Samurai/Fascists/War Criminals

60's CIA asset right wing criminals

70's political corruption criminals

80's big business/banking criminals

90's decline into loan sharking and drug smuggling and pornography and illegal immigrants.

There was that Japanese director who made a comedy mocking the Yakuza in the 80's. They chopped him up with a samurai sword and threw the parts out of his apartment window.

It was a suicide.

This series is unironically fantastic. Went in expecting cheap HK action kino, got feels.

What's with the stupid names?

When I was a kid, there was a gang that ran things here called 5T - they really liked those Young And Dangerous movies. They all got killed or deported which was good, because they were unpleasant.

>Originally there were fourteen members who were part of the Kuomintang, hence the name 14K. However, some say that 14 stands for the road number of a former headquarters and K stands for Kowloon.

what movie is that

The movie was called "Minbo". Pic related is the poster.

I've never seen it. This is the trailer;

youtube.com/watch?v=TM6ACCUJw5I

Whole movie is apparently on youtube too

youtube.com/watch?v=21AWfiDY9TM

>A former member of the Goto-gumi faction told journalist Jake Adelstein in 2008, “We set it up to stage his murder as a suicide. We dragged him up to the rooftop and put a gun in his face. We gave him a choice: jump and you might live or stay and we’ll blow your face off. He jumped. He didn’t live.”

lel

Me on the far right

Speaking of triad kino: might as well post this. To is making a third one after all these years. Hopefully it's as good as the first two and not a subtle parody of the us 2016 election.

>Wanting a show

Forgot pic

at least a DVDrip would be nice, but hasn't someone ripped it from a box set?

The Election series is so fucking good.

But I think the Trump character already got killed in the first one.

WOOAAH watch your spoilers kidd

>no tv show based around street racing in japan

So it tells nothing about their history and their fixation with the Sanja festival?

Yeah, it covers all of their history. Covers their actual history and also their imaginary history.

yea i have the whole bluray box set torrented but it's over 120gb's

i'll upload a small dvdrip to mega for you of the first one.. wait a few minutes

Gotta love that roll-shoot move.

The Yakuza has been declining for years now. Every movie, show, or video game about them and their influence is an extreme exaggeration for dramatic reasons. Japan is also known for having a tiny crime rate, which clearly reflects how unimportant their criminal organizations are.

You're just going to watch some balding middle-aged Jap file documents and deal with gossipy bullshit for an hour an episode.

>You're just going to watch some balding middle-aged Jap file documents and deal with gossipy bullshit for an hour an episode.
Sound comfy

yakuza seems to be very boring actually. When was the last time you heard them massacring each other in a gangland strike? Never, because even japanese criminals are boring and timid.

You never hear them bringing illegal whores in country, you never hear them having a huge cannabis growing operation (japan doesn't even have any drugs except stimulants) You never hear them having huge number of firearms

Do they even have parties? I doubt it, they seem more like a corrupt white collar worker than anything else. Their headquarters is probably just regular japanese office and their typical crime is some kind of yawn-inducing racket or tax fraud

>You never hear them bringing illegal whores in country, you never hear them having a huge cannabis growing operation (japan doesn't even have any drugs except stimulants) You never hear them having huge number of firearms
you are aware they work outside of Japan too, right?
There are dispensaries in California controlled by the Yakuza. They are also involved in sex trafficking in various states throughout the USA.

yeah makes sense, I was thinking about yakuza film that would depict crimes in japan

comfy crime

And how often do you hear of them doing anything notable?

There are no killings, no wars for control of anything. Japan actually managed to turn their organized crime into a corporation.

>this is what organized criminals look like in Japan

youtube.com/watch?v=Q7qKlYjaqjc

>Japan actually managed to turn their organized crime into a corporation.
well, you're not wrong.
however, that in itself is extremely notable, no? They are a internationally active and heavily involved in white collar crime, so they're not going to be running around like spics in east LA shooting at each other. This is more interesting to me than some ghetto gang shit.

for some strange reason, that sounds extremely depressing. No wonder japs don't want to live anymore. Every wild and animalistic thing in their society is reduced to some mundane boring shit

Not actually Sup Forums, but still interesting and relevant.
boingboing.net/2010/08/10/yakuza-3-review.html

Seems like a fun bunch, honestly. Makes me wish I had a cool group of silly friends.

I would kill for a Yakuza Sopranos

>Crusty old boss with a gold digger wife, annoying hypocrite daughter, and otaku son

Writes itself

Maybe you should look up the countless films that have already been made about the subject.

Ooooh it's that guuy

>I know a guy

It's notable, but it's hard to make into a compelling TV show. People speak about the Yakuza with awe, because they own office buildings and do business with contracts. But they don't seem to realize, contracts just aren't that interesting. The inner workings of an office aren't fun either, even if that office is ultimately a part of a crime network.

Compared to Narcos, where cartels were literally about to overthrow entire nations, and would massacre people in the street both in Colombia and the US, it would be dull.

>that sounds extremely depressing
Welcome to Japan. Even foreigners that live there for around 10 years or more begin to see why it's so shit.

Didn't know I wanted this until now

Awesome poster art, in mexican tv in the early 2000's at midnight they used to put some movies that they just called "Japanese mafia" it seemed to be a trilogy at least because i remember there were various of this films aired and they had some continuity, any one have some idea what are those movies? Ive been looking up for years without luck.

>getting your butt cheeks tattooed

bretty gay if you ask me

battles without honor and humanity, most likely

see

I can if I'm in America. The fuck are the little Japs gonna do to me over here?

mega.nz/#!hrYh0RoQ!YrFwA4Vvh1dcKT68CePTQrUR7JIBuyZ6-L1JN1NxsvY

Peace drives people crazy

Humans need struggle and drama to feel fulfilled

That's why Europeans invited in 3rd worlders, it was getting boring without the thrill of combat and conflict and woe

what does the Yakuza DO excatly? Just extortion and corruption?

Thanks man, ill check it out
This statement seems dangerous, i mean you just reduced the political affairs and problems of a whole continent to "human nature" and yet stills seems so true

The Yakuza are far more powerful than the Narco's, in as much as they actually controlled Japan and Japan was a first world, powerful nation, not an irrelevant South American dump.

But I mentioned it above - I picked up a book on their history and practically fell asleep every night trying to read it because it was 99% political and business corruption.

they used to do assassinations, contract killings, drug trafficking, arms dealing, gambling.

i think the main focus is white collar crime now.

>Japan actually managed to turn their organized crime into a corporation.

I would much rather watch this than the same gang war shootouts every other crime series has already done.

Thanks a bunch. I can clear up some space for the whole thing, if can give me a link for the box set?

also heavily involved in the JAV porn world.

wait...they also control gay porn? how does that work

is that Tomohiro Ishii in the middle?

it's not on public trackers bro, i can't just send you the link.

i uploaded the dvdrip to mega though.
link is here
