VENOM 2018 -- SONY'S MARVEL UNIVERSE (rated R)

"Venom, along with another standalone film Silver & Black are to be in their own entities, yet take place in the "same reality" as the MCU without any official crossover happening between the two movies and the Tom Holland iteration of Spider-Man."

> take place in the "same reality" as the MCU without any official crossover happening between the two movies
For literally what purpose? All this will do is make the question 'where the are the avengers during this whole shit' come up. Why can't it be a just separate universe, what is the point of the cinematic universe meme if it's not even a shared universe. Why not just make every movie set in the Marvel universe but with 'no official crossover'

Just like Netflix Marvel

because they are doing something else, noob. the more questions you add don't make your point better.

>Venom origin movie
>does not have any overlap with Holland's Spider-Man
>set in the same universe

That's a fake trailer, dumbass.

Real movie though

Marvel paid for Spider-Man the character, not Spider-Man the IP. Sony Pictures and Amy Pascal, being the dumb jews they are, kept everything else like Venom and probably stuck a ridiculous price point on them. So they're moving on to an extended Spider-Man universe, without referencing Spider-Man or the MCU themselves.

So Marvel can have Spiderman with no Spiderman villains, but Sony has a Spiderman universe with no Spiderman?

It's a sequel, since the MCU is going to be destroyed by the Beyonder during Secret Wars, and Holland is coming back to Earth with the Venom suit

Marvel gets Spider-Man villains, but any project and characters that Sony decides to pursue regarding their envisioned Spider-Man universe is completely separate because Marvel isn't going to work with them on it (Black Cat, Venom etc.)

So there will be no villain that appears in both a Sony movie and an MCU movie? Do Sony just get to choose villains as they go along, preventing Marvel from using them in the future, or did they already arrange which company has custody of which villains beforehand?

What a clusterfuck this is turning into.

Its probably already been worked out, like how Fox still owns the XMen and any mutants (Deadpool, Cable), but Marvel and Fox share Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver since they're mutants and avengers

I can't wait for the Diamond & Silk movie. Sony are doing really great things with their extended Spidey universe.
I haven't been this optimistic since when Fox announced the X-Men F4 crossover film.
Imagine each of the Sinister Six getting their own origin movie, then building to a S6 movie.
Do you think the Maximum Carnage will be a trilogy?

Who is gonna be stopping all these villains in this Spiderman universe without Spiderman?

This movie will never actually get made I bet.

It'd be funny if Sony started ruining the MCU with this shit.

Where's my Aunt May solo film?

He literally wouldn't be able to ask so many questions if he didn't have a good point, pleb

>yet take place in the "same reality" as the MCU without any official crossover happening between the two movies
What does this even mean?

It's been 11 years since they annpunced it.

Good god can this capeshit well dry up already? Someone take out the executives responsible for this out back and shoot them

The Sony execs are the worst because they try to piggyback on MCU/Disney's success but at the same time pretend like they have the integrity to do their own thing and make demands that piss off Feige. I almost want this to keep going because Amy Pascal embarrassing herself in those interviews was hilarious to watch

It's a marketing ploy to get good reviews and normies in the cinema.

Same thing happened with the spiderman movie.

>Good god can this capeshit well dry up already?
Doubt it. Them and Disney remakes are the only surefire way Hollywood still has to make money.

>started ruining the MCU with this shit.
>started ruining

Can someone explain Do they share the same world or not? If they do, how is that made clear without crossover material?

false

>Sony

Guaranteed to be complete and utter fucking garbage.

They don't share the same world, but they have legal grounds to claim that they do which makes their movies more popular.

>how is that made clear without crossover material?
You just slap a Marvel Studios sticker on the posters.

fucking n00b, it was announced shortly after Spider-Man 3

That is a fake trailer dumbfuck
