Pretty much all communication tech in the US was a direct result of government funding and research. They were later privatized. Then those corporations used slave labor abroad to mass produce the tech, and used offshore accounts to not pay taxes, giving them a further edge. That's why Apple is so rich. All unfair advantages.
And all this - the money for gov funding, the access to foreign workers, the ability to not pay taxes - is the result of being a superpower. Which only strengthens it's superpower status.
