Anakin was the "chosen one" so a fair bit of mary sue was par for the course and people didnt like it then. Rey's entire story appears to be that she is some sort of "way more chosen one" and wouldnt you know it, people still dont like it. I personally am just waiting to see if the leaks are real and she turns out to be some sort of reincarnation of the "first force user" in which case i can safely roll my eyes so far into my skull that i wont be able to see the next scene where JJ actually physically has the cast jump over a shark.
