Who do you think has the best origin/transformation story?

-Psylocke for me, from a mystic sheer to a ninja assasin-

It could be anything Sup Forums related

Wasnt she a ver, very normal white english teenage girl that got stuck in the body of an older japanese woman?

Did she slowly transformed in mind and style, into a stereotype of ninja, just because her mind is in a japanese woman body?

Did any character ever pointed it out to her?

>mystic sheer

what?

Boosty also has a very interesting one

Bump

Yes, she's was blonde, but people love so much her nippon transformation that it is almost a retcon.

Forgot the pic.

elaborate, i dont follow the avengers history

Moonstone
I like her dark past

> Who do you think has the best origin/transformation story?

Who else?

How do you explain Magik's origin to a normie that will encapsulate everything that is important in her lore?

It is hilarious how her personalitty changed so much to look like she is rigjt now.

It is like a nerd american character getting stuck in the body of a big and tall russian, and start talking and acting like he was a russian tank all the time.

She actually did get some of Kwannon's personality and memories mixed in.

Best thing is, Betsy only turned into a ninja slut because Jim Lee really badly wanted to draw a ninja slut, so Chris Claremont accomodated.

If you were going to start from zero with this character, would still make her Asian? Would she still be Brian's sister?

Yes and yes. Make her one of those Southeast Asian kids adopted by rich white people whose reasons for doing so come off as somewhat virtue signalling. It'd be a good place for character drama.

You could always make her (or rather, her parents) from Hong Kong. her parents died, and with the Braddocks being British gentry it's likely they would have known people in the colonies.

The talk is what you said though. It's not so much that the truth is secret, so much as the truth isn't as important as the rumor.

Doesn't quite work if the Braddocks knew her parents, since it implies a great deal of closeness between them.

That's sort of the point. That the perception is more important than the truth.

This sense of mistaken identity and honesty would also tie in to her character.

The problem is that can only work from an external point of view. Otherwise it'd mean that the Braddocks would have to be legitimately shitty parents. I could see it working in the context of flashbacks to her childhood though.

That doesn't mean they were bad parents, just very short sighted and perhaps a bit foolish.

That their heart was in the right place doesn't really help things down the road.

All sorts of rumors could start flying from a small Asian girl turn up, including infidelity.

Just having characters say they're siblings with inverted commas would serve a great subtle piece of thematic representation, as well as having a very wholesome family atmosphere as the backdrop to all the negativity.

Though there is the idea of her being called "Elizabeth Braddock" despite her birth background and how she feels about it.

It's not uncommon to see people from Hong Kong with English names.

How does a Japanese chick get an ass that great?

I've fapped to this a few times back in the day

>Not posting Doom

the only time she has appeared in American comic as a blonde was in a flashback during the body swap issue.

her change in attitude was expressed as a concern for like the first 2 or 3 years but once Revanche hit the scene and Betsy took her memories and Cyclops and Jean got married that part of the story ended.

this incorrect, Chris Claremont had Betsy facing ongoing concerns about her ability to physically be on the X-Men from the minute she joined the team, there's an entire annual dedicated to her changing her physical appearance first to an armored knight and later to like a She-Hulk, Lee just designed a female ninja and they worked the design around the existing Psylocke body issues subplot.
