Odinson’s desperate search to regain his worthiness has taken him out into the cosmos...

>Odinson’s desperate search to regain his worthiness has taken him out into the cosmos, where he’s learned of the existence of a mysterious other Mjolnir. This weapon of unimaginable power, a relic from a dead universe, is the key to Odinson’s redemption — but some of the greatest villains of the Marvel Universe are now anxious to get their hands on it as well. Can The Odinson reclaim his honor, or will the power of thunder be wielded for evil? The quest for the hammer begins here.

how long has he not been Thor in real time?

That bulge though

I have no basis other than my gut feeling, but I wanna say about 2 years.

So he's just going to get a knockoff Mjolnir and remain unworthy while Whor keeps the real one?

Yep. She isn't going anytime soon. She sell enough and Marvel is adamant in pushing their progressive ideals.

>A mysterious other Mjolnir
See its shit like this what makes modern Marvel so shit. Trivializing powers/titles to the point where no one is special. You have how many goddamn geniuses running around, multiple spider people, and now apparently theres another magic hammer conveniently lying around because writers dont want to give up fucking Whor.

Ugh I hate ultimate Mjolnir's design..how many years am I going to have to wait for Thor to have real Mjolnir back? Guess I'll check back in 2020.

But it was a problem that some characters were too special. It is ridiculous how much Reed is smarter than everybody at everything. He needs to become less special, by having other special people.

>this is the mentality that will pave the way to making Harrison Bergeron a reality

That's stupid and you should feel stupid

at least 1 year with the 2 6 month timeskips so yeah 2 could be right

Is he going to stay shirtless though? I haven't seen the shirt since the early promo art but I don't trust covers

While you may have a point with Reed, the solution isnt to over-saturate the universe with genius characters. Its one of the most lazy abilities out there and personally Im sick of seeing so much of it (Riri as the latest culprit). One could argue the solution is having each being a specialist in different fields, but thats kind of out the damn window when Reed somehow knows Pym Particles better than Hank himself.

The other hammer is Ultimate Thor's Mjolnir.

I believe last issue of Secret Wars: Thor showed it on the main Earth.

There have been timeskips in real life? What did I miss out on?

It's Ultimate Mjolnir, user. Ultimate Thor was Best Thor.

>He needs to become less special
Well, becoming God sure seemed to fix that.

>how many years am I going to have to wait for Thor to have real Mjolnir back?
Thor 3 comes out next November, so the obligatory Thor event comic that'll come out around the same time that ends with Jane dieing and Thor getting 616 Mjolnir back should start around then. Assuming the usual delays, we can probably expect Thor Odinson to be using 616 Mjolnir again in about a year and a half.

Did they ever say what made him unworthy?

Do you remember that amazingly fun night you had the first time you smoked pot?

Editorial mandate

How does this even work, the univeres (all of them) were destroyed.

Of course, but in-universe? Did they ever show what Fury whispered to him?

There certainly wasn't a 6 months cap.

He didn't take a piece of shocking information with the stoic resolve and character of someone who is worthy.

That is exactly what happened to make him unworthy.

... as far as you know.

Marvel needed him gone, nothing else. If we wanna go more meta it was because marvel wanted to push their progressive ideas in comics and apparently women constitutes minority status.

Cis Scum

That sad thing is you're totally right. Hell Bendis killed War Machine because he thought he would die in Civil War

Woah, dude. I'm too sober for this.

That's what you believe, or this is what's been said in the comics?

>White
>Male
>Cis
>Abled-bodied

There were plenty of reasons.

There has been no concret anwser in the comics, perhaps it will come in this run, but who knows if they'll ever come out and say it.

That's a "no", then?

Read Secret Wars and Secret Wars: Thors to find out, True Believer!

>Thor
>Be redeemed any time soon.

Sure Marvel, we totally believe you.

>I don't even read comics!

Not quite. Pieces of some universe remained, which is what Doom used to build Battleworld. All of the hammers of the Thors in Battleworld were from their respective universes, including the Ultimate one.

Then at the end of Secret Wars, Reed used the powers of Molecule Man and Franklin to begin rebuilding the multiverse.

So one of the Thors threw his hammer so fucking hard that not only did it escape the DOOMverse, the only universe left after entropy had taken all others by the hand of a race of alien gods, but it also transcended time and flew into one of the future universes created by Mr. Fantastic's son.

>the DOOMverse
>future universes

Jesus, read a fucking comic for once.

Okay, senpai. Explain this to me.

Doom used the remnants of the universes that were left at the end of Time Runs out. This was then the only universe that was left, under Doom's guidance. Soooo how is anything I described wrong?

I don't think they'll ever tell us. Don't think any of their writers is talented enough to come up with a phrase that'll make us believe that's why he became unworthy.

>Donald Blake wasn't a persona
>Thor will kill Jane

>
>>this is the mentality that will pave the way to making Harrison Bergeron a reality

Fuuuuck, we have a well-read user here.

Annnd, now I'm sad.

This doesn't really happen now if you guys have been paying attention: Otto was Spiderman was ASM2 came out(I think) and Sam was still Captain America when Civil War came out however Steve came back a month later but now we got two Caps.

Maybe we might have two Thors which is probably the point upcoming mini. I'd like to think movie synergy doesn't have to be predictable but eh.

His assessment is pretty accurate, user.

>Otto was Spiderman was ASM2 came out(I think)
Peter came back one month before it came out. The new ongoing relaunched right as it came out. The first villain of the relaunched ASM was Electro.

>reading marlel comics

Bill is still 1000x better than Whor

>Thor will kill Jane
This theory makes no fucking sense. Telling someone that they will kill someone in the future does not make them unworthy in the present.

Boy Jane sure is stickin around for a long time considering she has terminal fucking cancer.

I guarantee Marvel's true revelation will be even dumber.

And her Thor powers are supposed to be killing her FASTER than her cancer naturally would.

I still don't get why she doesn't want a cure. I mean in a world such as Marvel's were literal gods walk the earth and she's friends with one such deity she could be healed in an instant. How is that different than any other medicin she could take, the important part is sureely to remove the fucking cuase of the problem.

Wasn't she dying and wasn't turning into Whor accelerating her deterioration?

WTF.

Doesn't really matter. If Marvel wanna keep her, they'll keep her. Doesn't matter if they address this or not, it could just as well be hand waved away.

>in a world such as Marvel's were literal gods walk the earth and she's friends with one such deity she could be healed in an instant.
She doesn't want special treatment. It's the same retarded logic as Batgirl refusing science remedies for her legs back when she was Oracle.

Also Wakanda has the cure in case we forgot

... and before the ask: She doesn't want special treatment because she's a doctor who has to watch patients die without immortal magic apple medicine, and Asgardians weren't sending aid relief to hospitals around the planet for other people, so why should she exclusively benefit from personal connections when the rest of the world suffers?
Wouldn't that just be ethical corruption?

Should a rich man not go to the best doctor because the rest of doctors aren't as qualified as him?

And instead she decides to grab a magic hammer and prolong her cancer?

Isn't established that it shortens her life, though?

Well said, user.

So if a cure to something exists, but it would only cure one person and not be available to anyone else, this person should not receive the cure?

Pants on head retarded. Especially from a doctor.

Are we going to see Ultimate Thor as Galactus' herald?
Wait... Is Galactus still a life GIVER? I really need to get my computer fixed so I can read comics again.

If you live in a poor community (Earth) and you're "friends" with a rich and powerful man (the god, Thor) who lives in a rich community (Asgard) and just like many other people in your poor community do, you get sick, what makes it okay to personally benefit from the medical care withheld from everyone else in your community (Earth) for Asgard's reasons of state?
Wouldn't taking that medical care change your allegiances of community? You're no longer living as and among your fellow people.
And what about the quid-pro-quo? Your Asgardian "friend" has benefited from your companionship in the past, doesn't that make this medical care a form of personal payment?

At what price are your personal principles for sale?

>waste of quads

Self preservation is entirely ethical when it doesn't hurt anyone else.

You save whoever you can. Including yourself. What makes it OK is that every life is valuable and the fact the others will not be saved doesn't justify my death. No it wouldn't change any allegiances.

A natural disaster hits and I happen to work at an ice factory. But no, I'm not going to accept any if they aren't handing it out to everyone who doesn't know the owners? It's ridiculous. It's lofty first world thinking.

>five issue mini
>we probably won't find out why he became unworthy

No thanks. Aaron lost me long before Whor became a thing anyway

There's no cure for cancer, the best one can ever hope for is a remission long enough for something else to kill you.
The Hammer's magical removal of poisons (like chemotherapy drugs) undermines her traditional Earth treatment, but that doesn't prolong her having cancer - because she will have that cancer until she dies. Without that treatment to prolong her life, the cancer will continue to kill her unabated.

Yeah, DC is so much better in this.
With their -man and -boy/girl version of heroes and thousand of knock offs

Marvel already did that too and has moved on to what we have today.

The only thing ''wrong'' was that he called it DOOMverse which is probably what you're sperging out about, otherwise that's pretty much what happened.

It's not the "save whoever you can" argument you think it is.
The Asgardians DO NOT follow that creed, as evidenced by them not gifting all Earthlings with immortality.
This is an ask to make an exception, to play favorites, to pick and choose, to decide who lives and who dies.
What does that do? Where does that end?
Jane is willing to die for her principles rather than to force Earth and Asgard into that kind of relationship.

>There's no cure for cancer, the best one can ever hope for is a remission long enough for something else to kill you.

I find that hard to believe in the Marvel universe. Thor even makes her an offer to get rid of it so I don't think this is true.

God-bomb was pretty dope, though.

What if this is the real Mjolnir

Like the 616 Mjolnir

That's bullhonkery, everyone knows that wakanda has the cure for cancer.

It's not, it ultimate Mjolnir full of god Doom mojo.

No. It's one of the hammers Doom made as God-king of Battleworld. It has the Ultimate's design, but it isn't the Ultimate hammer.

And even if they do, Wakanda is canonically known for giving the rest of the world the bird when it comes to sharing their toys.
So what's your point again?

She simply doesn't value her life. She would help scores of people if she lived, just as her human self.

And Asgard has already played favorites within humanity, they've saved (Thor) people who they deem special. It's grotesque to refuse help when there are others suffering, not the other way around.

Don't throw away food, there are people who don't have enough to eat.

Her refusal was just integral to the plot, but it has no basis in logic, her reasons fall apart under just a bit of thought. As a doctor she knows treatments aren't universally available. She lives in a country where they are economically prohibitive even.

>Many Africans suffer greatly from this decease

>Wakanda are so racist even towards blacks that they not sharing it

DID he make them? OR, like with the refugees from the multiverse, did he simply gather them?
Remember that he made all those Thors forget that any Odin ever existed... but that doesn't mean that was true.

Black panther doesn't care about black people.

That's not racism, you dim bulb, that's xenophobic nationalism.

People were picked to be Thors, characters that weren't even Thor to begin with, like Groot Thor. Maybe some were gathered, but he definitely made hammers and Thors.

Hickman had a pretty brilliant solution and would be posted all the time because it's so badass if not for mike dedatos art ruining the scene
He had Thor get a hammer from an evil universe where the magic got switched and only those unworthy of odin's standard could wield it. And Thor dual weld the axe with it too.
So then Thor eventually became worthy again right before the universe ended while he and Hyperion were holding off a multiversal invasion

Pretty sure he made it, or at least enchanted it. Can't remember if the Ultimate hammer was magical or tech. Seem to remember something like that being the case, while Doom's ultimate certainly was magical.

Someone else will have to comment on this becuase I'm not certain.

>That's not racism

>Another word for racism

well gollygee. Aren't I dumb.

Seems like the Thors that survived the destruction of their own universes had their original hammers, but all of the new 'Thors' in battle world that were appointed by Doom had their hammers forged by him.

Pretty dope death if you ask me.

Ultimate Thor had two.

The one they show in the previews was the tech one. Funny enough.

The magical one looked like the 616 version.

So it's safe to say that Doom could have made it, but at least enchanted it.

Xenophobia encompasses more than simply race.

You're talking about a dislike of the color red. He's talking about disapproval of any color but blue. Similar, but not the same.

That's the same argument logic as saying that because Thor (or Superman, or Batman...) are willing to die at any time in order to save a stranger's life, that THAT means they don't value their own life at all.
Jane doesn't want Asgard's influence to destroy Earth's self-determinism with it's beneficence , and she's willing to die for that.

It's not throwing away food when you're starving, it's refusing a bribe of food when you're starving. Remember that Odin still wants Earth to recognize him as everyone's god.

Nope.

Totally wrong there.

Sacrificing one's life for another is not what she is doing.

She isn't being bribed either.

You're distorting things.

It's not refusing food when YOU'RE starving. It's not refusing help when you need it either. It's refusing help when others don't have it, that's a grotesque waste. A waste of resources when others are wanting. It displays apathy. Not virtue.

Earth has been receiving Asgard's help for ages. Saving her life would be the least of their incursions.

I'm sorry user. It's really fallen apart.

You're forgetting the scene where a worthy candidate was brought forth to try to raise the hammer of a fallen Thor, and then join the ranks of Thors.
If GodDOOM actually had the ability to forge those hammers at will then the supply would not have been limited, that candidate of worthiness would not have been waiting for a Thor to die.
It's not as though Doom wouldn't always want a larger personal army.
And DOOM had already displayed the ability to brainwash everyone in reality into believing all his self-aggrandizing lies.

His enchantments probably just made it so the Hammers imitated his energy instead of being from Odin

Why not just make another uru hammer like they did for Bill and Eric Masterson? Since it has been a simple emough task to make more hammers with the same abilities.

Even Loki can make knockoffs out of crowbars.
