I think that's why the angels want Zaid with the key, "intended" successor or not. Michael calls himself a royalist, but he wants to control the power in Throne again, not just bend to another crazy mortal upstart.

Admittedly we haven't seen much of Zaid since he was kidnapped by a walking metal album and then re-captured by ANOTHER walking metal album, so it's hard to say what he's really like yet, or how he would've handled godhood. Allison, though, has been a constant upset to everyone's plans since she got the Key, even with little effort on her own part. In her own way, raising hell as the unintended heir makes her closer to living up to the Conquering King's legacy than if it had just gone to Zaid.
Allison is the one who asked for a lack of crypsis. 82 White Chain said that Metatron Lives, which is straight forward to White Chain but doesn't mean anything to Allison since she lacks background knowledge, so White Chain goes on a long explanation, which is necessary for Allison and is included in the comic because it reviews the information of the first book for anybody who actually reads this as a series of books as they come out rather than as a webcomic.
