>Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
>The Truman Show
>Man on the Moon

And people still associate him with shit like Ace Ventura

Truman show has had me paranoid since it's fucking release. I can't forget that movie.

Because he wasn't funny and comedians are always the best dramatists. Look at Robin Williams, awful comedian.

me too man, that film has effected my life so much since i saw it at release. I constantly refer to weird coincidences as 'trumanning'

don't leave out The Majestic

you ever see somebody that kinda looks familiar but you don't know them?

>they're just recycled extras

Because comedy is the worst genre.

>Why was Jim Carrey's best work a drama?
thats how it always is with comedians.

>Adam Sandler
Punch Drunk Love

>Will Ferrel
Stranger than Fiction

i'm honestly waiting for Dave Chappelle's.

do stand up on your own let's see if you can do better

Don't forget Click

Not even standup, just generally not funny. He was a walking fart sound effect and then he went into drama.

the truman show was jims way of letting us know its okay to divorce yourself,

To stop being what ppl expected of u,

guy doesn't get enough credit, his dad was a janitor and his family lived outta a van for most of his teenage years

Am I the only one that liked Number 23?

I enjoyed it but it was still pretty poor. Got the atmosphere right, at least.

Dave's standup and his tv show were great, but his movies are hot garbage.

because behind his funny face and mannerisms there's deep, tormented soul

>those comments are reverse psychology tricks made by the script writers

people who tend to be the funniest are also the most depressed

That movie where he gave his girlfriend chlamydia then killed her with a drug overdose.

Why wouldn't it be though? Heath Ledger's best role was a psychopath, but other than that he only played lighter roles. Denzel's best role was as a villain, even though he is mostly the good guy. It just happens

>Denzel's best role was as a villain

You mean American gangster? Much prefer Man on Fire or Flight

Because they get a reputation that they have to make people laugh 24/7

He always will be the terrible comedy actor from The Mask, Ace Ventura and Liar Liar.

That is pretty much what I see when I think of Jim Carey. He is a huge hit with Rednecks though.

Fallen.

Training Day my man

This is his best funny movie role

It's just that, but in order to remain popular and have consistant work. You have to make comedy into a formula, and have to have a sense of humor. But when it gets to that point Comedy and making people laugh becomes work, and you soon find less and less stuff funny.

Not to mention how every comedy actor seems to be terrible with women for some reason, and end up cucked into alimony like Robin Williams.

That's a horror movie though.

I disagree, i think Me, myself and Irene is comedy kino and his best comedic role by far. His body acting is top tier in that movie

paranoid about what?

have you never left your own city?
