Why did the dimensional experiment scene have to be in New York? Why couldn't it be in Twin Peaks as a successor project to Major Briggs work? Maybe it was part due to the 90 trend but I love the interior design in Twin Peaks so much, especially the Sheriff Station and the Great Northern, all these locations in Las Vegas and South Dakota were not comfy at all.
