The storytime like one of you requested, but Foolkiller was actually good, let's see why this wasn't
First story is backup from Deadpool #7

Deadpool is one of the few books that managed to do something with the eight month timeskip and revealing what happened during it without dragging it out as stupidly as the "Cyclops is dead Hitler but we can't tell you why" shit.

babies: hideously expensive
I can tell this storytime is setting Sup Forums on fire
...
so this is the hook that was supposedly strong enough to launch an ongoing
KYS
this comic kind of makes me want to
I wonder how many LIEFELD VARIANTS were printed and/or sold
didn't Ewing just do some Dum-Dum slight of hand?
this art is pretty generic house
this would be saved by some sense of irony/camp
maybe
will to live, decreasing
I should have known that no one wants to read this
Okay, so she's a mercenary as well
I think you just have too high expectations from your usual.
Yeah, he threw in the 'real' one.
It just seems "meh" and you can't put out a "meh" book on an unknown character.
Moon Knight only got where he was from the God-Tier run by Warren Ellis.
it's not even entertainingly bad, it's pure routiniere
I'm going to go find the co-author's tweetings pitching it to try to liven this up
> folks need to give SOLO #2 a look too. We're pacing the series like a Bond movie. Issue #1 was pre credits action.
so here's the obligatory quirk
You also fall down hard because the 'One Man War on Terror' tagline in is something you really can sell if you have the balls to go with it, and this shows it doesn't have the balls on the very first page And besides that, yeah, there's nothing there. This is a shoddy-ass motivation even for a brief intro , character-wise it's flat and it's an action book without anything that sparks or makes you sit up. There's room just in this exact pitch for something really good, or at least really interesting, and the fact the book doesn't deliver good or bad makes it, well, bad. Some of the dialogue is like action movie parody too (maybe it's meant to be?)
>deleted this due to spacing autism but put it this way: Catwoman in Batman today is the more compelling war on terror pitch
what happened there, I've only seen people mad on Twitter about it
I get that this is meant to be "har har he fucked up" kind of funny, but this chatty pro thing is more insufferable than that
...
This beat is meant to be "brave and brushing with death" but it's still more "what a fucking idiot"
Tom King sorta wrote Holy Terror into mainline Batman.
Catwoman hunted down and assassinated some 200-odd members of a terrorist group and Batman went after her and brought her back??
Okay, I can see why that makes people angry if they want a clean-hands Catwoman
last panel: macho threat, check
>anarchy symbol t-shirt
is this like they want to mostly copy the Deadpool movie without the charm?
The notion of her hunting down and killing each individual member of these cells is pretty fucking hardcore, but it does feel like a hard turn from where Catwoman was immediately prior to the book.
I feel like Solo is maybe trying to have some irony to it and is failing and being dull, but maybe it's just dull full stop. I think there are a lot of ways this book could have been better. Even if you ignore the plot set-up the core pitch of mercenary whose wife runs intel on-mission while looking after their young kid is pretty workable.
Noto's art was better, too
Kek
Thanks for doing this, user, it's appreciated.
It doesn't feel like enough happened this issue either
This is where he should teleport out the car. Tell me he does.
>well. buy the hell out of MOSAIC and SOLO and maybe Marvel will let me write the X book i want to pitch.
I have bad news for you...
So there's the hook--he's desperate, they're going to use him
It was cute, really.
Not enough to make me care about a Solo, uh, solo, but I do like the idea behind the Mercs even if the execution was subpar.
at least that's done
bets on how many issues this gets
More than Foolkiller.
this cover sure is promising for some compelling interiors
I'm guessing 4, since it's apparently selling catastrophically badly. They might well truncate the opening arc even if it was meant to be longer.
Fuck you. You're right and I hate it.
