No, Australian is more culturally European than Europe.

Kind of. Architecture is clearly not Israel's strongest suit.

>it doesn't look like 19th century, therefore it's bad
kys reactionary retard

>it's bad because there are trees and open spaces in the cities
kys yimby retard

>it's good because i don't like reactionaries
and trees are only thing saving the picture, I like trees
it's just that globen looks like shit

You are mentally retarded if you think globes is nice

Architecture? What is that?

Yes.

Fuck no it's not

looks ok, clean design, clean streets

>Stop liking what I don't like
I think the globe looks better than those commieblocks around.

The building closest to thee screen are part of globen. It a tumour.

>firenze
terrone

Up until WW2 we had nothing but beautiful architecture. Then the absolutely hideous post-war buildings came along, which are still and eyesore in the outskirts of many cities and villages.

Luckily a lot of these 60/70s developments are getting torn down or upgraded, and a lot of newer developments are generally quite nice and often inspired by traditional architecture.

Pic is a newly built residential area inspired by Dutch classicism from the 17th century

that would look so cash repainted

sure

That's one of the few exceptions. Generally Australia has actively torn down colonial architecture to break away from colonialism, and generally Australian urban centers look absolutely soulless.

The vast majority definitely is. We probably have some of the ugliest domestic architecture in Europe.

Generally yeah, especially west of Ottawa.

You tell me.

we are slowly replacing all our old buildings

yes

Except for a few older buildings in Vilnius and Klaipėda, absolutely.

Come on, it's not THAT bad.

No we actually have culture

Not at all. Most places retain it, except maybe capital cities but even they retain much. Of course there isn't heaps given the population difference of the times, most people live in relatively young suburbs, but it's rarely destroyed. Also, modern doesn't immediately mean soulless. Most architecture you so love would've been though of as the same by most.

This bastard is celebrated by media etc. here

To be clear, not all of those buildings are his designs which should be fixed

A good follow twitter.com/Arch_Revival_

A lot of Brutalism here

Incredible.

Maybe.

Not sure if mosque, a gas tank or just modern "architecture".

>there is not even a war to blame

British architecture is USSR tier. The most brutalist, depressing thing you can imagine.

I thought it was a cemetery from the thumbnail

LOL
they just simplified

> The most brutalist, depressing thing you can imagine
>Don't even have true commieblocks
>Don't even have wooden barracks from 30's without canalisation with stove heating.

Globen looks really neat.

Not depressing at all.

Also - pic is photo from Norilsk, winter of this year.
I took it from thread on pikabu, where people from Norilsk talked.

It depends where you go. Most of our cities have this ugly mixture of old buildings and really new ones.

why are they doing this

Attached: 1511696310671.jpg (2696x2232, 647K)

Thing is, all our shite psuedo commieblocks are built on top of old, old buildings that were knocked down just to build on top of them, not because they were uninhabitable
Everything's surrounded by this knowlege that there most likely used to be a nice building there, or that there's a nice building wedged inbetween big grey bricks
