I think you'll find that while you are correct in some ways on the notion of invasion, if you go back and check who was enslaving whom that slavery in africa with slave routes to the middle east pre-date, post-date and continue to this day with more slaves in pakistan than processed by the entire triangle trade.
Also you're missing the bit where local african rulers would invade their neighbours, take captives as slaves then on-sell them to muslim or european buyers. I cant think of a single example of the europeans going and doing that themselves.
