I wish this could be a serious thread because income taxes actually are unjustified and have no legal constitutional ground.
Originally a very small tax (around 2%) was enacted on the literal top 1% of earners, and only to pay for the war, and it was done away with after the war. But then greedy politicians wanted more dollarydoos to play with and skim off of, so they made income taxes permanent and jacked them up continually, now they sit around 25% for the average person. You only get to keep 75 of every 100 dollars you earn.
Consumption taxes can be avoided and so are legal. Same reason you can't tax food or clothing, because those are unavoidable purchases. Income is unavoidable, yet is taxed because they can get away with it.
Legally speaking they have NO ground to tax our income. And anyone who has criticised, investigated, or publicized this has been harassed by the IRS or other government agencies, even to the point of having their businesses, finances, and lives ruined.
Yet no one on Sup Forums talks about this.
