The only thing tryhard about gambol shroud is the kusari-gama tether. Otherwise it's just a pistol sword or dual sword. Crescent Rose is easily the most tryhard weapon: Ovrly designed, based on a tool instead of an actual weapon, fuckk-huge gun that is overkill against smaller Grimm, and it basically throws you around with the recoil. Ruby even admitted it was needlessly complicated.
I feel conflicted over the fact that my favorite weapon belongs to such a tool.
Blake's is edgy but Sun's is flat out dumb.

I've always wondered what exactly was the difference to using the bladed function over the trident function. Even if the writers can somehow write a fight scene with him without it being a joke, I'm doubtful they'd even know what to do with this kind of weapon beyond the rifle.

Pat of me wants to say that the blade form is for rapid dismemberment of weaker Grimm, like if he was attacked by a flock of small Nevermore he'd just go through them like a blender.The trident would be for holding off bigger by impaling them and letting the reduced pressure keep them from sliding down the entire weapon.
