Batman should never find happiness, not even for a while, and die abandoned and hated by everyone, gripped with sorrow, regret and self-loathsomeness during his last moments..

Discuss.

But should I find happiness?

Yeah, sure. Whatever.

So Batman should be Cerebus the Aardvark?

Batman has no ending to his story. He is a modern myth. An Image.

also, your picture is gay. You remind me of that smug faggot from the old cbr. Kill yourself faggot

>He is a modern myth.

No, he isn't, and the old myths had the heroes dying. That's what herodom is.

>He is a modern myth.
LOL

Mythology belongs to the people.
Mythology is shared for the common good.
Mythology explains why the world works as it does.
Mythology is believed in by the people spreading the stories.

Batman belongs to a corporation.
Batman's stories are shared for profit.
Nothing about the world is explained by Batman.
Parents let their kids believe in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy, but they draw the line at Batman.

This whole "modern myth" business was made up by insecure losers who are embarrassed to be caught liking superheroes, so they made up some bullshit to give their activities a false sense of prestige.

Just because you self-insert and are a massive faggot that nobody loves doesn't mean that Batman should never be happy.

>yadda yadda

tl;dr

Harsh.

Batman should die saving a couple and their Child in crime alley.

End it where it began, with the added effect that Bruce did make a difference no matter how small.

Then have Dick/Damian/Terry/whoever take up the mantle.

Trying to confine the definition to suit your own opinions. Lame as fuck

>happiness

Let's just say family.

Still, all the rest of your sentence is damn edgy, boy.
Get some milkshake or look at some cat pictures. I don't know but fuck...

Fuck no Bruce deserves a good ending

No, he doesn't. He really doesn't. He deserves to die at his lowest point possible.

batman is not some marvel crap

ignore the previous two clowns, this is an excellent post

Batman's a tragic figure and should have a tragic end.

Bruce has saved lives, fought among gods and raised children to be some of the greatest people around,Bruce dying a tragic death defeats the whole purpose of rising above a bad day and making good out of it,Bruce began his crusade because of the loss of his parents, him dying a proud father is far more fitting for the worlds most famous orphan

His children can go on to do good and find happiness. Not him, though. Batman deserves only misery.

ignore the third clown, this post sucks dicks

>Bruce dying a tragic death defeats the whole purpose of rising above a bad day and making good out of it

Actually it's perfect, because Bruce didn't become the Bat so that he'd find himself happiness. He became the Bat so others wouldn't suffer what he did and could leave happy lives.

Batman should end in sacrifice. Everything to him should be denied so that others can bask in it. That's the idea.

no

>stops a huge evil catastrophe, saving Gotham City and its inhabitants
>ends up injured, bleeding to death and with no means of communications to his allies
>managed to wander off to Crime Alley (or another dangerous alley at night)
>saves a couple and their child from a would-be-murderer, getting shot
>he falls down, surrounded by the woman's pearls

See, within the confounds of the comic - I can believe the argument that he is a modern myth. Like that episode of BTAS having the kids discuss their different beliefs on Batman.

However, if any adult actually believes in reality he is a myth and not a fictional person then that's just sad. He can be an inspiration or an ideal, but he's not real.

>body is only found days later by a homeless man
>the homeless man finds his secret and strip him of his uniform so that no one can know that Bruce is Batman
>homeless never tells anyone the truth protecting Batman's secret
>according to everyone Bruce Wayne died of a gunshot wound after being robbed of his possessions
>an creepy tragic end for the Prince of Gotham

neither was herakles

But it's fucking stupid and defeats the whole point of a mad rising up against the darkness to find light.Even miller who wrote the definitive last Bruce Wayne story in TDKR knew that to end Bruce in tragedy defeats te purpose of every appearance he's had since he let go of the darkness,he's not Rorschach he's Bruce Wayne unlike korvac he found his humanity

Frank Miller's comics are fucking nuts and even TDKR is a fucking tragedy. What? You think Batman creating an army of violent delinquents to overthrow the corrupt government is a happy ending?

And Batman doesn't find light. He lives in the darkness where he can protect others from it and guide them to the light.

>not wanting your favorite character to be utterly miserable and broken

It's like you guys are not fans at all.

>Batman dying saving someone in Gotham wouldn't be huge news
don't go overboard

Batman saves people all the time and the couple would flee frightened leaving Batman to die alone. They wouldn't stick around and Batman wouldn't falter while in their presence. He would keep his pose until they were far a way and only then crumble down in pain.

I see, that fits better

Yup. This way a homeless man find Batman dead and seeing how people could use that against Batman in some way and strip him of his uniform. For all intents and purpose Bruce was mugged and shot while walking through Crime Alley.

Later the homeless man can give the bat suit to Dick so that Dick can continue as Batman without anyone being wiser.

Bruce starts DKR old tired lonely and waiting to die a broken man,he ends it reconciled with superman and green arrow, converting the radical youth to a better path like himself did, training a successor with pride that as far as gotham knows the batman is dead. Its fucking point is that Bruce rises against his own darkness and finds light,And Bruce Wayne does find light,he started out a black clad warrior of the night fighting solo,he finds children that being him joy, befriends gods and mortals, allies with the police and isn't above smiling anymore, interpreting batman as some Rorschach esque tragedy doomed to die a silent but valient death defeats everything every writer after DOTF has done

Bruce doesn't think he deserves happiness, so will not allow it in his life. The closest he comes is the satisfaction from dispensing his type of justice. There's an irrational part of his mind that thinks he should have been able to save his parents, so he carries a lot of guilt. He thinks that if he allows himself happiness he is absolving himself of that guilt, which he can't abide. The darkness of his life is self-created.

So, yeah, no happy endings for ol' Bruce.

Batman didn't find any light, he was dragged back into the war by the ugliness of the world around him and was left as the only man willing to what's necessary to save the country because nobody else would. Not even Superman.

Frank Miller then kept making sequels and adding on to the misery that is the universe he created.

Stop wishing for Batman to be happy. Superman deserves happiness, not Batman.

And honest question even if Bruce did die a sacrificial tragic death where would his family be?Where would his superhero friends be,if you honestly think after everything that Bruce has done to live a good life he'd get a bad death is deplorable

His family would continue his work, but with none of his baggage and would live much better lives. His friends would also lead lives more fitting to their character.

Everybody deserves happiness. Everybody other than Bruce. People should remind about Bruce and say "Great guy, but jeez. I hope to not end like him".

>6%

Bruce doesn't deserve happiness, and won't allow it in his life. He'll die making Batman a symbol of sacrifice to the public, all the while leaving the disaster of his life to his loved ones to clean up, alienating them as he has always has.

FINALLY!

I love the character, but Batman deserves to be spurned and hated by everyone, and constantly dragged to the mud. He deserves to be miserable and humiliated.
