A lot has changed in the last decade for our media. Tony Soprano, who was a race realist and actually pretty fashy, was genpop's hero when the Sopranos aired and for a couple of years after it. Everybody loved him. They felt that they identified with him.

If you want to know what's happening, analyze anything you see on TV from the lens of how an advertiser wants a woman to react to it, and you will begin to understand why so many terrible things persist, such as TBBT.
Women are easily manipulated and easily part with their money for frivolous things. Facebook is a platform to manipulate women. Instagram is the "crack" to Facebook's social cocaine. All of these platforms persist to manipulate women who cannot see the forest for the trees.

The problem is that everyone uses focus groups to target their ads and TV shows and such. Usually, focus groups are made from people going to them on a per diem basis. It's not a steady job, just something you sign up for to get some extra money.
So naturally, these focus groups are almost entirely women. And often women from liberal urban areas, because it's logistically easier to put together a focus group when you're in NYC than it is if you're in Kansas. And the few men that are there are going to be jobless NEET losers who are probably berniefags.
So these are the people that are focus testing all the media we consume. That's why there's so many mudskins shown in the media. That's why all the commercials all portray smart independent womyn don't need no man and portray the husbands as dumb oafs who don't know how to do anything.

When I watched "Betrayed", starring Tom Berenger and Debra Winger,I was amazed at how sympathetic of a character they had made for a militant White Nationalist.

Actually that is pretty much what is supposed to be assumed. This was during the apex of the white guilt narrative, you weren't supposed to like Tony Soprano. He is an anti-hero for a reason, you are supposed to hate him and his clique or not want to identify with them at the very least.
The show was intentionally ambiguous though so that you could get guilty pleasure in the racist, sexist bits.

I think it was at it's worst at that point. No movie could be made where the bad guy wasn't blonde/blue-eyed. It hit it's limit in "Demolition Man",where the producer defied (((Hollywood))) and cast Wesley Snipes as the bad guy...but they still gave him blonde hair & blue eyes.
