What are the best dc titles during the 2000s before new52?

what are the best dc titles during the 2000s before new52?

Batman Hong Kong is pretty good

All Star Batman and Robin

If I had to read only one comic from that period, it would be pic related.

Reminder that Identity Crisis is actually good.

Batman Hush, Blackest Night

All Star Superman
Superman Red Son
Superman Secret Identity
Superman Last Son

Correct answer.

Geoff Johns JSA

Also, his GL
GL Corps: Recharge

Oh, and definitely check out Sinestro Corps War, and Booster Gold. All of it.

Fuck Hush.

I've read worse. The subplot with them mindwiping Bats was stupid though.

Seven Solider by Grant Morrison
Giffen's Blue Beetle
Super Buddies (Formerly Known as the Justice League)
Aquaman: Once and Future
Gotham Central
JL: The New Frontier
Darwyn Cooke's The Spirit
Also about 90% of Morrison's Batman

Brubaker's Catwoman

Dini's Detective Comics

Morrison's Batman, Batman Inc, Batman and Robin

Hard to pick, because DC had a LOT of good stuff going on back then. Classic Cassandra Cain, classic Harley Quinn, Gotham Knights before it turned to shit... Then there was smaller titles like the unlucky Bloodhound, that sold like absolute shit but was a fantastic little comic. Simone's good run of BoP happened then... early 2000s was one of the best times to be a DC fan.

>Fuck Hush.
Funny how Hush part I like while Catwoman part makes me poke eyes out.

>David Lapham's Detective Comics
>Steve Gerber's Hard Time
Both were underrated masterpieces
>JLA/Hitman

It's one the most clear-cut cases of "good writing, bad story". Individual pages are great. Overall story is a murder mystery where the culprit's motivation is literally "she was crazy lol".

I've recently gone back and started re-reading this and man... It's a ride

Good taste

why? what happened to catwoman in that comics?

The first and last time a Harley book was good

It's Bat loves Cat but everyone pretends they hate Cat to see if she's worthy of being loved by Bat. It was bad to me, I didn't like it much. Hush's half of the story on other hand is wild ride.

I sadly agree with you.

What about the Dini stuff?

Ignore the casuals.

Dini has never written a Harley solo book, as in a Harley ongoing. Dini has always written Harley & X characters books

>it doesn't count because reasons
Full casual.

Obviously it doesn't count, I was referring to Harley books, not Harley in general, you loof. Dini has never written a Harley ongoing issue

>I was referring to Harley books
And Harley & X books are also Harley books. Or do you consider Batman solo books those where only he appears? No Alfred, no nothing.

>And Harley & X books are also Harley books.

Those are team-up books, not necessary Harley books perse

Jonah Hex.

>b-but it doesn't count!

>good writing, bad story
THIS
The characterization is EXTREMELY good. Uncommonly good.
But the story is 'eh'.

Infinite Crisis, superman: brainiac, batwoman: elegy

Red Son
