When you think of how fucking horrible the rebooted PPG seemingly is, do you remember the anime abomination before it and think the former is not so bad afterward?

PPGZ is nowhere near as bad as nuPPG.

the porn was better for PPGZ then PPG

PPGZ had McCrackens blessing and actually listened to him when he said to make things different.

This. PPGZ was at least creative and tried to be different from the original.

Yeah well fuck you weebs

What's so bad about nuPPG?

PPGZ at least appealed to dirty lolicons. NuPPG has no appeal for anyone, anywhere.

...

I just think it's unfortunate that we didn't more of this.

Yeah i loved that art style.

I never hated PPGZ to begin with, and it at least never pretended to be in the same continuity as the original. It's insulting that NuPPG actually considers itself a continuation of the original.

>do you remember the anime abomination
>anime abomination
>abomination
But it wasn't. Only Westaboos got triggered over this show.

But it's not shit, it was trying to be beat pretty cure with its own game

Let me guess, you only watched the dub of PPGZ. Because that horrendous, but yhe japanese version was actually pretty good, specially the second half of the series.

The artstyle was adorable and Mojo Jojo looked beastly, shame it didn't have good ratings.

>you only watched the dub of PPGZ.
Ugh, don't remind me that shitstain exist.

PPG >= PPGZ (JP Dub) >>> nuPPG = PPGZ (ENG Dub)

It's that fucking bad, my god.

>Episode 1
>The girls aren't sisters

At least I had a reason to watch that show

I haven't watched PPGZ but I'm pretty confident in saying that nuPPG is inferior to it.

PPGZ was good though. People who say it's not have likely only seen one episode.

On it's own it's borderline mediocre, and I could say that it COULD get you a smile or two with some of the people working on it, on their own, being somewhat talented.
But being branded as a Powerpuff Girls reboot/continuation/whatever, it's just an affront to the original and it perpetuates the message that that original shows will be screwed over by the safer bets. There's like no real action, the Powerpuff Girls seem to be depowered despite actually getting new powers that, despite being advertised and used in toys, are actually used sparingly. Animation Errors that you don't even need to pause to notice, plots that are just kind of boring. It's a complete genre shift.

Well, that kind of thing was par-for-the-course for Japan. They never tried to fool anyone that it was its own thing. NuPPG advertised itself as an updated continuation of the old series, which it just isn't.

Ppgz isn't even bad though.

This is dangerously close to a perfect pop song. The OP's have no right to be this good desu.

PPGZ was far superior to nuPPG. It actually made an attempt to develop its characters, and wasn't really a copy/paste of the original. It kept elements but adapted them to a more Japanese/Slice of life setting.

Also, OP, if the only complement you can give one show is that it's better than another show -which you admit is an "abomination" - , maybe that show kinda sucks ass

Kaoru is bae

If that'f your major complaint, I would definitely recommend giving the show another go. The girls' family is played pretty well.

Who the fuck makes fan art for this show

plenty of people. It's kinda weird, really. the fanart following of PPGZ is unusually large,

Gotta love official DVD art

Never saw PPGZ , what was so bad about it?

Also the fact that the show apparently uses the girls for fanservice (and they are still lolis) is worrying, though that's the norm in japan I guess

animation looks awful and is full of really dumb errors, writing feels amateur as fuck, because of the later we end up with characters acting out of character while others get shat on by the writers, its almost like its being written by a bunch of underage fanboys from Deviant Art who have a clear bias

Also morals who are either political agenda shit or who make no sense

its existence just makes no sense. Like, did McCracken approve of it or something is something I still wonder

Would Sup Forums trade nuPPG for a spin-off focusing on Mojo Jojo and Him trying to raise the Rowdyruff Boys?

Fans.
>the fanart following of PPGZ is unusually large,
>It's kinda weird
How come? The original PPG is well loved to this day and PPGZ not only branch off that popularity of the original (mainly for the Japs), but regards to that, it's still a well liked show, just not as big as the original.

Really the fanservice is almost nonexistent aside from , that one episode where the Rowdies stole the girls' clothes, and another episode where some guy "sabotaged" Momoko's (Blossom's) gym uniform, and even that is played pretty straight as bullying.

> did McCracken approve of it or something
Yes. He even advised the directors and writers.

>Also the fact that the show apparently uses the girls for fanservice
[citation needed]
There's far less of that ever happening to the PPGZ themselves, rather, it be of other characters like Miss Bellum and more blatantly, Sedusa, but I mean, that's comes quite obviously anyways. And for both cases, that's barely a fraction of the time out of the whole series. There are far more "lolicon fanservice" shows out there that goes FAR further than PPGZ does.

Really, the ONLY time they pulled someone of the main girls was with Momoko, pic related. And that was just as a joke more than the typical "fanservice".

post best girl

...

PPGZ was a Saturday morning show in Japan, not some late night lolicon extravaganza.

...

unfortunately a lot of people have the impression that every anime is full of pantyshots and beach episodes

to be fair, the fanbase often doesn't do much to help

...

...

...

...

...

I thought it was pretty mediocre, of course its not as bad as the new reboot. But its not really that good to begin with.

100% agreed.
PPGZ is not a great show. But it is not a bad show. It is a saturday morning, magical girl, slice-of-life anime. It follows every trope of those genres to a T. It excels at nothing (maybe character design), but it fails at nothing either.

...

I haven't seen nuPPG but PPGZ actually did some things better then the original.

...

...

...

>NO ME GUSTA

The transformation music for this show was great

I can at least masturbate to ppgz, I get no such joys from nuppg

Anime is inherently an abomination.

(you)

Descartes speaks the truth

Stay jelly.

Oh absolutely

...

Z is still better than this new series. At least Z actually tried to make a good show.

Z is still better than Nu. At least they are good fapbait and they tried to be different. Nu is just shit all around.

It's so boring Sup Forums doesn't even bother to shit on it anymore.

I've sat through the entire ppgz as well as all released nuppg episodes and the anime was fucking cringey weeabo garbage. nuppg is way way above it in entertainment quality

PPGZ is Japanese. It therefore can't be wannabe Japanese.

I'm just going to leave this here for safe keeping.

CHALLENGE:
Watch all of PPGZ dubbed. Anime VAs trying to imitate then OG cast with awkward anime dialogue is

it's great.

The emmy's are a joke, everyone knows it. Getting a nomination is as simple as having an executive wanting to promote your show.

As for being a hit, that is provably false. rating have been in decline for a while now. Several episodes haven't even cracked a million viewers.

No thank you. There are good dubs and there are bad dubs, PPGZ is one of the worst dubs in existence. Poorly written, poorly edited, and especially poorly acted. Subs all the way.

Joke or not, there will quickly be more episodes of the new series than there was of the original.

I don't think I ever really hated PPGZ.

I never considered it as good as the original due to the number of liberties it took, but at the very least the original still existed.

Now we don't even have that anymore.

youtube.com/watch?v=0fo-8LkzC9U

7 years later and this intro still gives me shivers

Most episodes of the original series had two 11-minute segments, each analagous to one episode of the new series. Every episode of the original series was twice as long as any episode of the new one.

>I get no such joys from nuppg
What about Miss Bellum?

gone

The Stitch! dub is riiiight there with it.

is that series even fully subbed?

...

Oh wow, I assumed it was cuz it's all dubbed but I can't find it anywhere.

>youtube.com/watch?v=xXYgF8BLfRs
PPGZ Him was literally a gay(er) version of the Joker

so...just Him

Yes,

My only real issue with Z is that it made Mojo Jojo a comic relief baddie instead of the nuanced, relatively competent, classy, yet still funny villain from the original. Ryusei Nakao was the perfect seiyuu for Him.

I'd say it's backwards.
The utter abomination that is nuPPG made me appreciate the effort and creativity that went into PPGZ.
I used to really dislike PPGZ, but now I've seen the light.
The movie is still the best PPG related thing everIt also is the best cape movie to exist, fite me fags

Mojo was always a comic relief. HIM was the only villain to fuck with the PPG and get away with it.

Not every anime has panties.
But goddamn, every anime has a fucking beach episode, EVERY FUCKING ANIME.
UMI DA!

They aren't *that* common, and it's natural anyway that people would go to the beach when it's summer.

PPGZ doesn't. I think the second opening shows them in swimsuits for a couple seconds, but that's it.

At least Anime girls can be real waifus unlike cartoon girls who are not moe.

You made me look, damn you.
