ITT: The art of Rebirth

Worst, best, mediocre, doesn't matter.
Gonna start with the god Dexter Soy, the god himself

My favorite

Red Hood, Wonder Woman and Trinity have the best art in Rebirth.

...

Some folks dislike the art, but I think they the way speedforce is conveyed on the page with lightning is fantastic

I've really been enjoying Sandoval on HJGLC

It might be >Booth, but I'm really excited to see based Wally go fast in the next issue of Titans

Jordie Bellaire's colors ensure you can actually see Finch's great inks.
Much better than Forever Evil and recent Wonder Woman

great art shame that it's written by lobdell

A great motif in I Am Gotham, is the sense of power hierarchy based on how Gotham and Gotham Girl are framed above Batman and Gordon, a technique offen used with Superman (See Kingdom Come).

The last page of issue 1 is Gotham and Gotham Girl floating above Batman.
Issue 2 repeats that motif with their first meeting with Commissioner Gordan.
The cover of issue 4 hits you with Batman atop a gargoyle looking down, as Gotham falls down to earth.

Issue 5 finally reverses it, with a fantastic page turn of Gotham looking up, just in time to see Batman bring down a plane on him.

Gleason/Gray on art (and Tomasi writing) on current Superman is something I always look forward to.

Underrated: The Flash.

I really don't get Sup Forums's love for this guy's art.

God I love that page

Janin layouts, man.

Why don't you like it?

>dat poser "art"
Jesus.

This book is so good. I really didn't expect to love it that much.

It's stiff and boring.

Still don't get why Lobdell keeps getting so many good artists.

Anyway Green Arrow hit the art jackpot.
Ferreyra and Schmidt are both fantastic.

>I really didn't expect to love it
I didn't expect to even bother READING IT (because: Lobdell)!

I only came around because people kept going on and on about how good it was; much like Green Lanterns (Dogfucker) and Green Arrow (Percy, who was pretty mediocre on the same book pre-rebirth).

But, at the same time, I've been really REALLY disappointed in King's Batman and Rucka's Wonder Woman (esp the latter: I loved his old run on WW and was seriously grooving on Black Magick).

Yeah but then there's Stephen Byrne.

He's alright and is mostly bad compared to the other two.
Compared to Nightwing or Green Lanterns' art, Byrne is just fine.

Fernandez is great though. Byrne is awful.

Me too. RH has easily become my favorite book and I'm looking forward to it every month.

>liking fiveheads

Not house style enough for you?

Tomasi art is cartoonish. Sometimes it's look really good and most of the time it's look really awkward and bad.

>Black Magick
Whatever happened to that book anyway?

It went on hiatus while Scott drew Wonder Woman
