Will there ever be a more respected film critique than Ebert and Siskel
Will there ever be a more respected film critique than Ebert and Siskel
ebert and roeper
...
Idk I used to read their critique just so I could find out what not to watch. If they gave a good review I knew it was most likely a movie I could skip.
checked
lol I just imagined if they had to give up a thumbs up or down. they couldn't do it because gen x ethos.
Mark Kermode is better and even more an autist.
In the modern era there's no longer a place for critics like siskel and ebert. Also the thumbs system wasn't great
I think we all know where their thumbs are.
GET YOUR THUMBS OUT OF MY ASS WALLET

He's good when he's not in "only 30% of this British film festival's contributors were black women, WHY IS THERE NO DIVERSITY IN BRITISH FILM??" mode.

>Will there ever be a more respected film critique than Ebert and Siskel
respected by whom?
redditors?
It must be, cause no serious cinephile hails them as good critics in the first place, let alone the most "respected" ones
Gene siskel is a faggot of massive proprtions, he's the kind of person you want to get away from as soon as he is within talking distance
The fact that so many books still name the Siskel and Ebert "the greatest or most significant or most influential" critics ever only tells you how far criticism still is from becoming a serious art.

Thank god they died before 2008! Otherwise they'd be turbocucks today.

>hah hah hah i thought it was great, im giving it 4 stars!
>dont get too excited bitch, i give it 2
I miss them. Havent bothered with any other review shows since they left
...
I absolutely loved their show and still watch some eps online. Whether I agreed or not with their assessment wasn't even important.
Ebert's written reviews that used to be published on the Chicago Sun Times are also worth the time, and they're all available on online too.
Once Siskel died though the show was over, Roeper didn't do it for me, he tried his best to fit in but the show just wasn't the same without Siskel for Ebert to argue with (most of the time).
The closest anyone has gotten to them, as far as internet movie reviewers go, was the Plinkett SW PT takedown. Even HitB, which would be closest to their format, is so far below the scale that it's not even worth mentioning.
Prestigious film reviewers are not a thing anymore cause movies are not as much of a respected art form as they used to be.
You were born too late for it user, I'm sorry,
Noteworthy cinema is a thing of the past.
This.
People say they like it when they would fight over a movie when one liked it and one hated it, but I like the ones when they both loved a movie like Shawshank or Back to the Future. It almost gets to the point where they argue over who loved the movie more.

That's a pity nobody respects Jay, even Jay himself. The tragedy of a little man.
