it was never good

It's not one of the best it factually is the best and only good vidya movie. Street Fighter was cool though.

Because Mortal Kombat is just Enter the Dragon with added mysticism, so it from a movie to a game to a movie again. Also helps that it pays attention to plot points in the game (explaining even why Subzero and Scorpion are not fighting each other) as well as slight improvements, can't tell me Scorpion's living harpoon wasn't cool as fuck.
Also, amazing soundtrack

t. kano

in a world of shit the best turd is king.

Because there really isn't a stiff competition in that area.

No competition

It has a near perfect blend of comedy, seriousness and violence that predates a lot of current movies in how it handled the balance.

It did everything well enough that when put together it was greater than sum of its parts. Considering how weak acting cast is over-all it's even more impressive that they that much out of them.

It also captures characters perfectly instead of putting big names in character slots.

It was helmed by a decent director. People making fight scenes went extra mile with everything from set design to fight styles and made everything distinctive.

Just watch first movie versus second movie.

Juxtaposed against what I would say is a large cache of shitty video game movies that do not understand source material and do not understand how to translate it.

If you look at this movie versus's say Assassin's creed, creed should win but because of how they developed, structured the movie, a decent actor like assbender couldn't save it.

Versus lambert whose ham/seriousness fit tone of movie perfectly.

The only other video game movie that comes close is Resident Evil.

See if you can find any connections between them.

I feel sorry for people who missed it in theaters. The whole theater went crazy towards the end of the Cage and Scorpion fight.

Who do you main? I usually switch between Night Wolf and Ermac.

Not only were people rocking out in my theater as a kid but entire group of friends afterwards and soundtrack = good times.

We busted a lot of shit after this movie.

This was better

Older ones or newest ones?
I used to play Kabal a lot when I was a kid for some edgy retarded reasons. Also Sub-Zero.
I like to main Kung Lao in the new one and also played him a lot as a kid as well.

Because there aren't many video game movies.
I like it, but prefer Street Fighter.

it was true to its source material and didn't needlessly change shit for the worse like the SF movie did

shit taste

Because your soul is mine is a good meme

Memes can make or break a movie

that scene was hot

hahahahaha 69

>sonya will never put me in a leg lock

...

>that degenerate smiling chink
How is this gif not used as a meme more often

Because gifs are outdated and forcing memes is retarded

Lambert doing Mel Brooks the whole movie was GOAT

>Picking the worst fight out of the entire movie.

It was pretty good when it came out at least.

>Resident Evil.
The first 2 yes. A

The CGI hasnt aged well though.

The actors for Johnny and Kano were perfect though I gotta say.

The Reptile fight was the best. He was doing great until he wasn't.

...

What is Reptile thinking about here?

Well the movie did one thing video games failed to do. Make Liu Kang into a leading man/likable.

He is about least likable character in games in comparison. Kung lao is much better in terms of how they handled it.

Eh, that will always be a problem with cgi, just look at spawn.

it's too bad actor killed himself and johnny's actor was just bright enough to make it into role and then disappear back into muck of shitty roles

Ello bby, did ya mess meh?

Kanos head should have been between her thighs

Characters actually matched their video game counterparts.

Kano.

Fight scenes were great and matched the brutality of the game.

>Kung lao is much better in terms of how they handled it.

Kung Lao was riding that TV show hype.

Scorpion got a pretty nice girl in that show. Shame she got killed by Sub-Zero.

>Eh, that will always be a problem with cgi, just look at spawn.
Spawn looked terrible on release.

>matched the brutality of the game.
Not 1 (one) spine was torn out.

RE movies are utter trash and shit all over the source material

>factually is the best and only good vidya movie
No. Saw it when it came out and it was awful.

Give it up, baby. I've studied all your moves.

The games are abou two people fighting, the movie exists to setup scenes in which two characters fight

The best game movie is the Sonic japanese one

It doesn't matter that it isn't a very good movie. The fact is that it is closer in spirit, look, and execution to the original material. It's faithful, and given some of the absolute crap that's hit the screen calling itself a video game adaption, that's important.

Scorpion when I was younger
Jax and Kenshi in MK X

>at the skating rink
>mortal kombat theme song comes on
>gottagofast.jpg
babyfigs don't even know

by default

Because all the others are worse.

>webm

Scorpion has remained my favorite over the years, but I've grown fond of some other characters as well - Night Wolf, Johnny Cage, Kano, Quan Chi, Sonya..

dat fuckin soundtrack tho

>gif?

>gif

I prefer DOOMkino. The first person scene was damn great.

>that pic
everything that's wrong with the resident evil movies

The Rock shouldn't shit on the movie considering it was great for a video game adaptation

Doom is pretty underrated. It's knows exactly what it is and does it perfectly.

nah, what would of made it great is if he had any gun from the game or was shooting demons that were from the game. Without that its just stupid shit.

...

Reptile

Fuck you. Liu Kang is fucking dope and I will bicycle kick your ass

people don't ask for much in their vidya adaptions and honestly this one did it well enough

Because it was entertaining and solid if only because it borrowed the plot from Enter the Dragon, and because it nailed the aesthetic and was influential enough to have the games retcon elements to match it.

Also that bitchin soundtrack.

It's filled with everything that makes a movie bad, but they've turned it into a fun quotable movie that everyone loved when they were kids.

>I am Lui Kang, descendant of Kung Lao, I challenge you to Mortal Kombat, do you accept, or yield?

The actor looks dope sick.

Kabal, Ermac and Sub-Zero

Did this kill Bridgette Wilson's career? She was thicc.

Scorpion, Mileena, Cyrax. Team ninja.

...

Because video game movies are universally trash.

>While Goddard's official biography listed his place of birth as Perth, Australia, and the year as either 1966 or 1965, his parents, Eric and Clara Goddard, of Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, in July of 2003 came forward to state that Trevor was in fact born in Sussex, England, his date of birth was in 1962, and that Trevor's claims to being a reformed criminal from Australia were in a fact a fabrication. He was able to fool many into believing his London accent was an Australian one, and edged out many authentic Australian actors for roles.

I've always swapped between Mileena and Sub-Zero, then Baraka for Deception. I favored Subby though all the way up until MK9 before I poured the remainder of my time in to Mileena. I just loved her mobility and her u2(?) bounce was just as good as a freeze for me to capitalize on.

I still main Mileena in MKX although for me it's significantly less fun than 9. I feel like the Injustice games are influencing it in the worst possible ways.

It's faithful and it's dumb, comfy fun. Also the competition isn't really trying.

Watch the fullscreen version for the full experience.

nigga you've never heard the soundtrack?

benis

...

Angry Birds is better

it's kino

>be me 13 years old
>beg grandma to take me to movies to watch mortal kombat because mom won't
>get there and theater is full of crazy teens being loud and throwing food
>find a few open seats near front
>movie starts
>mortal kombat theme song (youtube.com/watch?v=BxsNnUAyfd4) comes on blasting at full volume
>holy shit this is lit AF
>almost forgot about my 80 year old grandma with pace maker sitting next to me
>oh_shit.jpg
>glance over at her
>she has giant smile on her face and is tapping her knee to the music
>wahahaha grandma is diggin this gangster shit
>mfw

>"My name is Danny Rand, I'm the immortal Iron Fist, protector of Kun'lun and sworn enemy of the hand"

hehe

Oh it is the second maybe not so much

I have literally watched this twice in a row.

Lads are you forgetting about the Silent Hill movie?
That wasn't bad at all

btw
1) Silent Hill
2) RE2
3) MK
4) RE1
5) Street Fighter

>can't tell me Scorpion's living harpoon wasn't cool as fuck.
The only reason I wanted to see it as a kid was the trailer showing that shit over and over again.

>GET OVER HERE!

Just wait for the Tetris-kino in the next few years to be released.
>In the future, year 30XX, mankind has finally reached the ability to travel at light speed using block-like spaceships called Tetroids. Deep in the universe lies the question to human existence-- could the Tetroids be the answer?

Remember the TV show where they all die at the end?

hahahaha i forgot dwayne was in that turd
>i'll still vote for him

don't worry user these underage fags probably havent even seen it

>THIS SUMMER
>suburban family playing in the garden, it's a sunny day
>TERROR
>inception horn
>suddenly a shadow is cast upon them
>COMES FROM THE SKY
>family is squashed by something
>fast-paced orchestral music, mostly strings and some timpani
>we see a giant tetroid is what destroyed them
>news and reporters are all around it
>"this is the third time one of these mysterious objects falls in San Diego"
>TETRIS: TOTAL ANNIHILATION

GREAT movie, Milla is possibly the best action actress around

1.MK
2.Silent Hill
3.RE1
4.Dead or Alive
5.Street Fighter
this is the only answer

Comfy casting

>dead or alive
honestly never seen that, is it decent?

The fuck is CumLung?

The place where you can spy on the head Monk's daughter taking a shower.

The guy playing Shang Tsung was goat
