so winter story is being left for later/closer to actual christmas?

I mean the alt text IS "Oh by the way we just skipped over winter entirely".

everyone pay attention to our adorable queen

Alt text, motherfucker:
>"Oh by the way we just skipped over Winter entirely"

Patreon doesn't have alt text.

It does, it has ALT alt text.

This is why people usually take updates from the website instead.

i like that the benefit to paying into the comic patreon to support the comic is an extra goofy sentence

I'm telling you, Petunia will try convince herself she's not gay for Poppy at one point.

I think she just really appreciates when someone actually appreciates what she does for them.

user, when someone agrees with your opinion do you feel like you have to have sex with said person?

Petunia's just very dramatic about everything.

...

sometimes

I predicted a bunch of shit about this comic and everyone told me I was delusional before it happened, though.

I.E.: predicted Poppy was bisexual since the first thread.

>that last panel
>dat fang

I never thought I would be more turned on by him than I already am...

Poppy's already kissed Petunia twice and she's reacted with disgust both times.

Poppy reads lady skin mags and as far was we know is still in some relationship with Kit.

Petunia is cursed to be a match maker.

She's fully into PoppyxKit

That has more to do with it being unhygienic. Morbi tries to be misleading.

>Poppy reads lady skin mags?
What's your point?

>in some relationship with Kit
Didn't say it was gonna be reciprocated. Petunia will probably keep it to herself unless shit gets real.

I like it.

Pay attention to this shitty bird instead

The Mothers of Magic

Since the beginning, all creatures that descended from the Trees of Life had the ability to manipulate magic, but for a long time, they only knew how to do so unconsciously. It was a silent force, shaping the world around them in subtle ways, and those who were blessed with overt power by their Lucky Stars were considered blessed by the lost gods. In time, centuries of science and research shed light on the true nature of magic, but even then, there were only theories on how to properly harness its potential.

It would not be until the birth of the three Mothers of Magic, Madamas Mystana, Silvana, and Laphoda, that there would be any meaningful breakthroughs. Born under an especially powerful set of twin Lucky Stars, Mystana and Silvana had the abilities to manipulate Time and Space, respectively. Laphoda had no such power, but compensated easily with sheer intellect and a limitless curiousity.

Young Silvana could travel the world in the blink of an eye, becoming a polyglot and freely exchanging information between various schools of thought like never before, and Mystana used her ability to slow time to a crawl to observe and illustrate magical phenomena in new levels of detail. Laphoda was obsessed with magic's effects on the natural world, collecting materials of all sorts and experimenting with their reactions on one another.

In time, they would all make their own major discoveries that would lead to the creation of the three branches. The more they used their powers, the more Silvana and Mystana became attuned to their own magic, which they discovered they could infuse into external concepts.

Silvana used her extensive knowledge of language to create abstract codes of spoken words that would become the branch of Spells, while Mystana would condense years of her cognizance into seconds in order to calculate and design highly intricate symbols that would become the branch of Charms.

Laphoda had already become a pioneer in the fields of chemistry and alchemy by this point, but studying the biological changes in her sisters opened a new path up to her. Over the course of several years, she would develop the Witch's Brew, a substance that could induce the same magical attunement they had experienced, and in turn, she too became able to infuse magic into her concoctions, creating the branch of Potions.

Witches

Magic could now be intricately controlled through the added use of spoken word, detailed sigil, or chemical compound, widely known as "The Three Branches Of Magic".

The Three Branches revolutionized the world, creating the Golden Era of magical discovery and development. The profession of "witch" was born, an individual who, though years of training and incremental exposure to Witch's Brew, could develop direct control over magic. The path to becoming a witch is a dangerous one, though, as improper use of magic can easily have fatal consequences.

Even just the act of attuning oneself to magic through the Brew could cause one to lose their physical stability without the necessary preparation, in the same way that opening a floodgate too carelessly can cause disaster. In extreme failures, the body is consumed entirely by magic and evaporates in a burst of energy, a death that is fortunately no longer common, thanks to strict guidelines and supervision.

The more attuned to magic, though, the more directly a witch can control magic. At the standard baseline level of 5% attunement, an individual has to go through specially designed devices with particular magical batteries or pre-made charms to produce specific effects. At 15% attunement, they can subtly manipulate their own magic's wavelengths and infuse it directly into such devices, and at 30% attunement, they can use the Three Branches.

At 40%, they can cast spells with fewer words, create charms with less specific designs, and develop more potent potions using smaller pools of materials. There are many theories about the potential possibilities of witches at higher levels, but strict regulations prevent them from going above 45% attunement, for safety reasons. Many upstart witches claim to "know a guy" who got to 50-60%, with wild stories attached, but always suspiciously have no proof when further pressed.

Next week will be the History of the Ovis Kingdom, now currently known as the Fenneclands.

I wonder if the pacing will be better with the chunk-based update scheme.

Not really related to the information nor anything against them, but why exactly do you post a bunch of yinglet images alongside the info dumps in a poppy thread?

Its just a bit weird.

The full month of no updates must have made him a bit yinglet thirsty.

I felt like posting something to go with the dump, because it sort of breaks things up a bit.

Just happened to be in my yinglet folder is all. Maybe I'll download some dank poppy memes later for the next one.

I'm a hunter x hunter, berserk and vagabond fan. A month is a drop in the sea. I'm not even upset about Prequel taking over a year.

oh, and for any non-patrons who missed it, here is the previous one about the nature of magic

desuarchive.org/co/thread/87549194/#87582291

God I hope that link works for y'all or I'm gonna look a bit silly.

That's no excuse, you don't see me randomly posting Rosianna even though I wish there was a new comic twice a day.

>All this posting of possum mothers, tg ratbirds and fat rabbits.
Related or not, its doing wonders for my dick.

...

>Kit is bringing her fuckbuddy right next door
thirsty as fuck

Oh don't you start too

>Many upstart witches claim to "know a guy" who got to 50-60%, with wild stories attached, but always suspiciously have no proof when further pressed.
inb4: he's real.

Is that the psychodelic/poisonous grass?

>"posted at 6:00 PM"
Why does he keep doing this?

Who is he trying to convince?

>everyone just knows this single guy who is difficult to track down
I love it

Maybe he just thinks a round number is more aesthetically pleasing than a more accurate number

It's not the minutes that are far off the mark, mostly.

But the comic did go up at 6PM.
Morbi lives in the PST timezone.

Is the server there too? And what about when he lived in Florida?

Wait, I'm an indolent peasant that hasn't done the backreading and just kinda started lurking around the big royal meeting thing

Is Poppy moving closer to Kit cause she's an official and shit now, or is she moving to be closer to fucking the queen daily?
Or both?

I know, I really should go back and read the rest of the story.

Actually, you know as much as we do but you should really read the rest anyway.

>Is Poppy moving closer to Kit cause she's an official and shit now, or is she moving to be closer to fucking the queen daily?
>Or both?
Well it's not directly stated
but you can assume both

Poppy travelling to the palace every single day for work and queen-banging would be difficult, since she can't teleport like half the populace can

Oh my god, I just realized they don't wear shoes

>queen-banging
Man, imagine the amount of restraint Poppy must endure to keep from obliterating that tiny body.

Would probably be bad if she put the queen in a wheel chair.
Get it, like the old fuck ;^)

Whoops, meant for obviously.

Is there actually any decent Poppy/Kit porn?

I wrote a quick few thousand words of smut once during chapter 4, though I'm not so sure it fits into the criteria of "decent"

The best will always be the official one that we will never get to see.

>Those feet

Shouldn't they be more detailed? Look at Petunia's.

>Morbi
>consistency
Pick one. Though I don't really see the problem.

Freddy's jaw just grew a few inches in the last panel, i think the cloud is losing his grip on the pen

Not a problem really, it just that Petunia has her background foot in a close shot.

He's always been sloppy.

Want to bet the teleportation warning is foreshadowing for later in the chapter?

Chekhov's teleporter?

The last panel looks lazy and off model.

Nah, I read that as Petunia finding Poppy endearing, like a baby or puppy learning a new trick.

...

>He's always been sloppy.
WOW

I saw a possum tonight. It climbed a tree in front of my house when I walked up. I definitely frightened it.

I'm loving this casual Kit. The dress is wonderful and the sun/magic supressing glasses look surprisingly great on her.

Also we're apparently in spring right now, so a lot of time has gone by. Poppy and Kit have already been dating for months right about now, so having Poppy move in makes sense. It might of been a bit tedious to have Poppy have to travel to the highest part of Canopy each time she and Lily wanted to see Kit. Though I could see Kit teleporting with Friedrich to Poppy's house, though they wouldn't get the luxuries of the castle that way. I can't wait to see what their relationship is like. It's probably still in the lovey dovey stage right now, so I'm expecting some hugs/kisses in the next few pages.

Also interested in seeing how Lily is and how Poppy and Kit's talk last chapter affected her. Hope she's going to school at least.

>the sun/magic supressing glasses look surprisingly great on her
Clearly she's wearing them because she's blind

>I'm expecting some hugs/kisses in the next few pages

Opossums can't teleport, she has to take the long way up to the castle from Eggton.

>Been rereading chapter 3
>Mary stealing alcohol in the bar after the gang member shouts about poppy
>Chickadino's gang members having the same scar
>Who was driving the hovercar
And then we have the infamous not-fully-april's fool page. Was the Kit thing the only hidden truth? Because i still can't figure out whether Lily was adopted or not

I'm pretty sure Morbi has said that Poppy isn't Lilly's biological mother, so that means she adopted her in some way.

WE CAN'T EVEN TRUST LIES TO BE LIES
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO US

>And then we have the infamous not-fully-april's fool page
Two of them - the last one had humans existing

>Because i still can't figure out whether Lily was adopted or not
It's been hinted in comic, but otherwise not stated. I can't remember if Morbi ever said so or if he was just being a troll/ambiguous.

I meant the one i posted, i know there was another, learn to read

>Reading through ewe-lala
>Clearly implies she's adopted
ooooh, now i get it
Instead of one of the lies being true, all of them are true except one
Fucking cloud

>moving house will solve a problem
that's not how houses works, this comic is retarded
>furry feminist trash
i am both disgusted and disappointed Sup Forums
>magic
it doesn't exist.

I would bully that little abomination.

but
what happens if poppy tries standing on it, both inside and on the verge of it

Since she's a possum, it would probably just goof up the spell

The REAL question is what if someone magical like Halia or Petunia was standing there

The website image location also generally has a name based on the page, or a pun.
>2016-11-18-Page1MovingDay.png

>witch's brew
It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning.

I wonder if the brew is based/inspired by the sapho juice.

It's going to be mary and we all know it
She really really wanted an excuse to wear that hat

Nah, they've got to be magic deterring ones. If you see a blind person wearing glasses it means a couple of things. Their eyes are either disfigured/missing so wearing the glasses benefits them socially, or they are not completely blind but are light sensitive.

I wonder if Kit usually wears glasses in private and forgoes them during public events. Won't lie, her being a regular glasses user just makes her even cuter.

Actually I just looked back at Poppy 2 and 4. In 2 she doesn't wear them during the fight but puts them on afterwards and in Poppy 4 she is seen holding them when Poppy, Lily and Friedrich walk in but doesn't wear them while talking to Poppy about the ambassador job.

I guess it makes sense though given that she wants to keep her blindness hidden so she makes it look like she doesn't have any disability when she has to face the public.

Though I am wondering why she wants to keep her disability hidden. I understand if she wanted to keep it hidden so people wouldn't think she was a weak ruler. She already has that insecurity as seen in Poppy 6. However from Poppy 4 it looks like she has kept it hidden her entire life with the exception of close friends and family. Part of me is wondering if her family pressured her to keep it hidden from the public eye when she was just a kid, so she simply still does that when she is an adult. Poor thing, you just know she gets into a lot of situations when others knowing she is magically blind would be beneficial, but she makes herself look like a fool hiding.

She doesn't need the glasses for opossums due to their antimagic. Opossums are the only people she can actually see, remember.

I know that. But she never wears them in public though. She doesn't wear them during the fight (where wearing magic nulling glasses would come in handy to see Boris and the other fighters) and goes the entire Fruit Bearing Festival without them. I'm just wondering if she doesn't like being seen with them in public or when doing Queen stuff.

Pretty sure she explains why she hides her "blindness" during the chapter where Poppy visits the castle the first time.

Just reread that part. Actually it looks like she might be keeping it a secret because she wants people to think she is helping the opossums out of the goodness of her heart, rather than part of it being they are the only things she can see. At least that's what I'm getting from it.

The thing is though she lost the ability to see all light at age 4. I highly doubt a 4 year old Kit would be able to convince her family to keep her significant disability a secret though unless they wanted it to be a secret. In addition her family from what we can tell doesn't really care about opossums or what Kit is trying to do. Vix had those anti opossum laws in place and saw no need to repeal them, Renard thinks Poppy was a pet and Fantomet I guarantee doesn't think much about them, probably hating them more since Kit loves them so much. So I don't think they would do anything to help Kit and her opossum helping plan when they themselves don't believe in it.

The entire thing is just a bit odd IMO.

Actually, she does use some magic opera glasses.

Morbi just replied to a ask I sent asking about it and he just said that insecurities are rarely logical. So it looks like Kit just doesn't want people to think less about her.

Which is really damn sad though.

>So it looks like Kit just doesn't want people to think less about her.
Considering the way she acts around step-tits, makes sense.

Though before I thought the insecurity developed when she became Queen and kept being compared to Vix. Now it looks like she's been afraid of being seen as a joke her entire life.

As far as things go, the people don't truly seem to take her all that seriously as a ruler.

The opossum stuff, her attitude, and the fact that her sister is like a billion times more powerful than her, its not that outlandish that the opinions about her are a bit low. She is a alchemist/pharmacist first and foremost (Skill-wise, that is).

Not to mention she hardly talks to her sister (who actually cares for her), freddy hardly shows emotions that way, her dad is too busy either being in a coma or channeling epileptic furry jesus, and her stepmother is a likely-irredemable bitch whose only skill is throw curveball insults and having a nice ass.

Hell, i bet steptits knew kit wasn't cut for this job in pretty much every way, and put her in that purely out of spite. I wonder if poppy's aggressiveness will rub off on kit a bit and she'll pull another third degree burn like the "no wonder you are dad's second/third favorite wife" line.

>WE CAN'T EVEN TRUST LIES TO BE LIES
>WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO US
its not even that simple, we cant trust lies to be completely false, so some feel the need to dissect every little denial Morbi makes to see if its also a confirmation of something

A hundred thousand kilograms of ass

They'll get splinched.

heh. I didn't even notice.

The second panel bothers me a lot
There's no indication that something huge and heavy was just moved other than the THUMF sound

yes.

This Poppy we're talking about. She cared that house around like a normal backpack and we have seen her throw a fucking mountain top at a dragon too.

Just because it's light to her doesn't mean it doesn't have weight
The panel makes it look like the house hadn't moved at all and that the large thumf sound either came from inside or another source

There's a pair of dust clouds beside it.

In all honesty that blended into the background for me and I hadn't even noticed it

I still don't like it though

...
