The animated format means that they don't have to hold back on power effects to keep in budget.
Eshu and Kuasa went balls out crazy with their totems. And so did Mari at the end, she was shifting between animals like crazy and used a bunch underwater
Compare this to Amaya on Legends who only ever uses the Gorilla in combat.
