is Invasion of the Body Snatcher worth watching if i already know the ending?

Good filmmaking isn't affected by the audience being spoiled in advance.

Ignore literally everyone else in this film and go watch Suspiria by Dario Argento.

youtube.com/watch?v=dXcjbWs-yqU

Based Argentoposter.

One I liked was The Burning, a movie from the 80's about a burning, with Costanza playing a side character when he had hair.

>ctrl f

Most of the good ones have been listed - along with The Shining, The Exorcist, The Omen. There's a few I liked, like 13 Ghosts, and The Cabin In The Woods. Maybe throw in the old Hammer films, and stuff like The House On Haunted Hill. The original Wicker Man. Rosemary's Baby was good.

Halloween 3: Season of the Witch

Demons

Underrated.
That movie is really, really good.

Thanks, user. I'll look into it.

GOAT. I watched this for the first time recently and it surprised me with how fucked up it felt. The first kill especially was brutal and felt real.

The sequel is a lot of fun as well even if it's a completely different vibe. Dennis Hopper chainsaw duels with Leatherface.

opinions on this movie?

Cat People

It is really silly.

50s Body Snatchers has a better impending doom feelto it imo

Yeah but in terms of fear factor the 70s one is more immersive.

Also:

The Thing (1982)
Poltergeist (kinda)
Wicker Man (Original) (more interesting than scary)

The Shining
Carrie (original)

Anything else is either just interesting or gorey. Not necessarily scary.

Hidden Gems: The Reply

Jeepers Creepers is a comfy watch

>the Most well known and iconic horror movies of all time
>hidden gems

Yeah if I were to recommend "hidden gems" it would be short films or lesser-known Asian titles like the first 20 minutes of When a Stranger Calls (1979).

The Blob (Original)
Creeping Terror
They Saved Hitler's Brain

The Burning is great. It's got an awesome soundtrack and Cropsy is creepy as shit.

Hey, 13 ghost of scooby doo wasn't THAT scary user

I can only recommend you the ones I've seen.
It's a pretty short list, but I did enjoy them all.
Alien
The Thing
Event horizon
Evil dead series
Return of the Living Dead
Braindead

Let the right one in

I'm watching the original [REC] right now and i got 22 min to go and i'm kind of just annoyed.

The Thing
Event Horizon
Alien

Did somebody say Halloween? Watch Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St and Friday the 13th.

if you like slashers, The House on Sorority Row is an underrated gem everyone should check out

Kill List

Pontypool was very very comfy. Watched it at 11:30pm unintentionally. Best impromptu decision.

Kairo is shit, rest is Kino.

The 90s remake of Night of the living dead is good too.

Martyrs (2008)

avoid the US remake at all cost.

There's a remake?

Lake Mungo

All of these.

Also The Shrine
We Are Still Here
We Live in the Shadows (not a horror film but it deals with horrific subject matter)
Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead

How about no? Eli Roth tier.

This movie was terrible.

The movie was awesome. The original one as well.
Who would have thought that after decades of vampire movies somebody could come up with something original?

Jacob's Ladder you plebs

How about fuck you?

*is for plebs

Is this any good?

write me a 10,000 word essay on why do you think so

It's great, but it's typical slow pace for the time frame.

If you're a horror and modern classical movie fan, it's worthwhile.
If you like (((horror))), you'd probably not enjoy it.

Looking through this thread, most of Sup Forums doesn't watch horror outside of mainstream media.

A Dark Song
Autopsy of Jane Doe
Banshee Chapter
Borderlands
The Innkeepers
Cold Prey
Psychoville season 1
Noroi
Forbidden Siren (Not great but better than I expected)

also for anyone who actually watches real horror movies.
recently watched this with the girlfriend.

9/10 pretty good.

Never heard of any of those except alium

Banshee Chapter is probably the only recent-ish movie that genuinely creeped me out.

>I watched this for the first time recently

Didn't know Sup Forums was so full of plebs

>also The Thing

shh rëddit

The descent

>never heard of Alien

what a the concensus on vvitch and drag me to hell
both were recommended by a weird cousin

Does anyone know a horror movie that uses (I think) russian opera music? Ithink it was about a dancer at an art school..

>drag me to hell
Shit, can't even remember it.
>VVitch
Slow paced period horror, Unique, Worth a watch even if you don't end up enjoying it you will appreciate it.

It Follows
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
John Carpenter's The Thing
VHS (the first short is the greatest out of the entire series but the first movie is enjoyable all together)
The Descent
The Breed (2006)

it sucks(5,000 times)

>Sinister
It has some good kills but it's not very effective at scaring you.

the one from the 70's

Evil dead 2013
Hellraiser
Hellraiser 2

Possession is a god tier lovecraftian/psychological horror movie
>that tunnel scene

fuck this makes me laugh hard
