Kelly C made it to the front page of reddit and from then on, screencaps of us were all over reddit. When something of ours hit their front page, millions of normies were seeing it. They loved us, and other boards. Sup Forums and Sup Forums just so happen to be the most accessible boards.

What a coincidence that in the next few years, a bunch of retarded anons campaign to get Sup Forums moderated. Feet? omg ur weird lol. Banned. Pedos? Banned. Oval? Gone. Actress discussion? omg waifuists are weird. Banned. Movie discussion? Ignored. They begged for moderation. For anything not forced memes to be purged.

Reddit came here to spew their shit. This was their place where they could say nigger, smear shit on the wall and not get banned. They get off on smearing shit on the wall, waiting for the home owner to come home and laughing when the owner freaks out. Why would they discuss movies here? They discuss movies on reddit, their home. Sup Forums is for memes and memes only. Sup Forums to them was a place famous for being shit, so they came here to shit.

Once the teenage reddit mexican /got/faggots realized you could create any meme by spamming it for months, this place died its final death. They couldn't get enough.

Sup Forums was shit until Sup Forums moved here. Now it's becoming shit again as we're getting a little too long in the tooth for this place.

Bane posting pushed it over the edge into Sup Forums 2.0 area. We had some shit forced memes around, but when Sup Forums was invaded by newfags with one purpose in mind, spamming bane threads, it was the straw that broke the camels back.

Going to make my argument for /film/ again.

A couple of days ago, I recorded number of threads by topic due to autism. Here are the stats:

>Television - 54
>Film - 27
>Celebrities - 28
>Cartoons - 17
>No Specific Topic but Sup Forums related - 13
>Off topic - 11

About a third of the film threads are about It and Mother, the remainder being only about 10% of the board's material. That means that objectively, statistically, most people here are not or are barely interested in discussing film.

This makes film discussion almost impossible, and literally impossible for anything that isn't bait or obscenely popular, or a listing thread. Film discussion requires a slow board, which we haven't had for years, and it's gotten particularly fast within the last year. There currently is not a single place on this website where people who want to discuss film can go and expect to find other people who want to discuss film. I agree with the philosophy that "if you want better threads, make them", but as you can see by the stats, even quality /film/ threads cannot compete with the 90% flood. I can get a thread to stick for a bit by posting literal bait in the OP, but then most of the responses are bait-related and not film-related.

Best case scenario: since Sup Forums statistically doesn't enjoy talking about film much, I expect statistically most posters here will not spend much or any time on the board, allowing slow and cozy discussion to commence in peace, similar to how the /vr/ board has become.

Worst case scenario: Shitposting is spread between both boards, thinning it out, and raising the average post quality of both boards above that of current Sup Forums.

The last test run which lasted half a day and had a meme as the board's title was not a justified test run. I expect after a week or two the shitposting would subside, and the board would slow down to something like /lit/, /vr/, /m/, etc. where film buffs can finally enjoy discussing their hobby. We need a separate board.
