Wasn't great, but a hell of a lot better than it looks. A fun movie overall

Wasn't great, but a hell of a lot better than it looks. A fun movie overall.

How was the actual singing?

Really? What's the plot like? Is it just a bunch of small plots brought together by the competition?

Great. And the song selections are very nice and varied.

Pretty much, but it's done really well. And there's really no one main character, as much as the trailers make it look like the gorilla is the main protagonist.

It's not out yet you liar

I think there was an early screening yesterday or something.

This morning, actually.

Also the porcupine is waifu material.

did the producers see how much money zootopia made and said "oh shit we should do that?"

Damn right.

Almost looks like it. Some of the designs look suspiciously similar, particularly the giraffes. Looks like it could take place in the same universe

Did the Cuckupine remained cucked at the end of the film?

Who won?

I refuse to lower my standards to watch this tripe.

The minions

Shaggy

How does it compare to Illumination's other movies? Minions was literally the best thing they ever made, so it's not a high bar.

No really who won

or was it "you ALL won the prize!!'

Also does the pig lady divorce the husband

>zootopia rip off

All's I'm gonna say is that nobody "won".

How was MacFarlane's performance?

>Minions
>not Despicable Me

>Wasn't great, but a hell of a lot better than it looks.
Well, it looks like complete shit so that's not exactly setting the bar high.

based on some of the trailers it seems to reignite their passion or some shit

Kinda. All of the character motivations are different, so that's cool.

>Implying Zootopia is the first movie to use talking animals

Anyways what is the end game of each character? Is the moe elephant good waifu material?

Is it better than the Secret Life of Pets? That was the most boring movie I ever saw in cinema.

Also, if you've seen Trolls, how does it compare?

Bumping for answers

It seems like the kinda movie thats dated even before it's released.

Fucking God Tier

Regarding who has the best dance number.

Meena = Mike > Johnny = Ash > Rosita + Gunter

>choosing Ash over Meena

Was kinda expecting at the end for Rosita and Gunter to pork

It reminded me of Cat's Don't Dance, except this wasn't as good.

Well, it'sabout as good as a movie can be with the paint by numbers plot. All the characters are very likable though. My only big complaint are a couple jokes that really miss the mark.

No, but the pig porked her pines

Lemme guess

>all characters have their mini arcs over the movie
>gets to the final
>all characters are at their prime
>OOPS Liars reveal! Turns out there is no prize money
>they fight
>long mopping scenes
>then they realise they dont need money and just to SING
>Big singing finale
>Some dues ex gives them all money
>the end
>thanks for adding more money to DM3

I actually have yet to see either of those movies. Sorry! SLOP looks like slop, but Trolls looks fun at least.

Yeah you're quite close, even though you're mostly out of order. It's a totally predictable plot when you're watching it, but the characters are what shine most imo

Weird sounding german pig and her hook up?

Pig milf and cuckupine...really?

What's up with Dreamworks and musical movies?

First Trolls and now this

Illumination you fuck nugget not Dreamworks

Are there any original songs or is it all just pop shit?

>mfw Rosita doesn't cuck her husband for Gunter

In what way you mouth breathing elitist?

To be fair, they are a LOT like Dreamworks was back in the 2000s. Considering peoples' long memory (most people still think Aquaman is useless, for example), it's only natural that Illumination movies would get mistaken for Dreamworks.

Do they all stay friends in the end? The performers, I mean.

It's all actually really well chosen. The only character who sings modern pop is the pig mother and shy elephant (Don't remember names), which makes sense. There's a soulful gorilla, a rocking cuckupine, and a Sinatra mouse.

Yup. They're all friends most of the way through though anyways. That's not the central conflict.

If anything this is running on Frozen's cottontails.

you know, they made a movie where only music mattters.

>people talking like I'm supposed to know what this is

Faggot.

Anyone else think the most recent trailer was better than the other ones? I mean, sure, it gave away most of the story, but for me, the other trailers were pretty cringeworthy, while the newest one was alright.

I mean, like I said, the plot is super predictable. It's the characters that shine.

Where is the cuckupine cheesecake?

what that fat pig is supposed to be german? he alwas sounded more russian to me

>did the producers see how much money zootopia made and said "oh shit we should do that?"
Zootopia was not the first thing to do what it did, surely you pondered this right?

Man I'd probably mad as fuck if I made something and somebody just said I was copying something else. I haven't made anything worth a damn, but you get the main idea

>Illumination
>Talent shows

Neck yourself faggot

Are the actors singing the songs themselves?

surprise surprise, ScarJo played the waifu character

So Meena's family is all obvious black voice actors, and patterned after an american black family...but she's voiced by a white chick...?

More like shortcake, amiright?

Goddammit I meant to click

I'm still torn on whether to see the movie. I know it'll be mainly mindless fun, might be a good cheap night film.

In all honesty, nothing's going to beat Cats Don't Dance in terms of the 'talented animals' film. Is it at least half as good?

The numbers aren't that energetic if that's what you mean

Was there good fanservice of Rosita?
