I heard Morrison does artwork, anybody got any examples.

Open Final Crisis. Find any scene with depowered Nix Uotan. There are usually some drawings nearby. Those are Morrison's personal sketches. I know they're definitely present when he's with Metron and the typewriting chimp from Animal Man.

Also in the back of Arkham Asylum, in the script section. He drew Joker dressed like Madonna.

Near Myths

There were variant covers for Multiversity. Any of the HCs of his usually show artwork. If you find his scripts, he often designs layouts and includes rough artwork.

Now, he's a very talented writer, but no one is going to lose a pencil or inking job to him. I've never seen any finished art work but I'm sure he's got some, I've just never looked or stumbled across anything other than sketches, and rough sketches at that, showing his comic book stuff.

Kind of looks like it's Byrne mixed with a little bit of Grell.

Mm, part of it's that he's not doing it consistently. is much better than

I'd wish Grant would do a short comic with him doing the story and art. He can just do the pencils for the characters, and have someone else do the backgrounds.

The stuff I am talking about is even rougher than these two examples. And one of the pieces I am talking about was the finished colored variant.

Here's the standard cover by Chris Sprouse.

And this is Grant's variant that was actually shipped and sold to retailers/book buyers.

I believe he did some interior art for Joe Casey's Captain Victory and His Galactic Rangers. That comic had a bunch of artists working on it

And one more Morrison variant. I believe he did one for every issue but some of them were not produced for sale, and are only included in the Deluxe edition where the rest of the pencil work, etc. and galleries are.

All were produced but they were set at 1:50 or 1:100 ratios.

If you take any two of his books that were published one after the other, place one open on page 5 and another open on page 2, and then lay them next to each other in that order, you will see that the paneling lines up into a beautiful portrait. It's unique for every combination. You should check it out.

This is pretty decent. I thought he worked almost exclusively in biro and crayons

I'd heard that as well but man some of this stuff is pretty fucking good, I'm impressed.
It's that artistic experience that informs his ability to write in the comic format I think

I remember watching an interview Morrison and he talked about how he used to draw girls and jerk off to them

Could you post an example? I don't have any physical copy of his work.

>all these huge mind-blowing ideas
>can't draw them
>have to rely on skilled, but painfully slow, artists to do so

Now that's the real tragedy of Morrison right there

He literally depicted that in his flex mentallo. Honestly, I used to do the same because I had no Internet until I turned 16. I still draw porn as a hobby.
