I collect a lot of comics in electronic form though torrents but I'm afraid of starting to buy comics in physical form because once I start doing that I will be one of those weird lonely nerd that is found dead by authorities and they will see my collection and make snide remarks about me.

The real concern you should have is finding space. When I was read a lot of comics, and buy 10-20 a weel, my big problem was just storage. It all became junk filling my room basically.
So, be aware of that. If you feel like you have soace and such, then don't worry about it. People like comic books, most people would just think it's cool to find a huge collection.
