Have a Japanese director do it. It is a Japanese franchise after all.

In secret because studio meddling would inevitably ruin it somehow

Like this.

links awakening miniseries
link is depicted as soft spoken, and not very talkative, but still able to communicate properly
dedicate a few moments to fleshing out side characters, especially marin
humanize the nightmares, one of the most poignant parts is the implication that many of them are simply defending their right to exist
one dungeon=one episode, with time set aside for going about inter-dungeon activities
many wide shots of kohilint, it is supposed to be a beautiful island, so we need time to take it all in
intense action but with quiet drama scenes, to highlight when its time to sit down and listen

Literally impossible because Link doesn't talk. It would only work as a series of shorts where Link doesn't have to talk, and it would require a top-tier director to tastefully capture symbolism, lighting, and the mythology of Hyrule.

So Samurai Jack but Zelda? Got it.

Incidentally this is also the best way to do Dark Souls and maybe Metroid.

Link talks all the time.

>movie based on a video game

I wouldn't make that dumb mistake in the first place.

Link
He come to town
Come to save
the Princess Zelda
Ganon took her away
'n' now the children don't play
but they will…
when Link saves the day!
Hallelujah!
Now Link
fill up your hearts
so you can shoot
your sword with power!
And when you're feeling all down
the fairy will come around
so you'll be brave
and not a sissy coward.
Now Link
has saved the day!
Put Ganon
in his grave.
So now Zelda is free
And now our hero shall be
Link
I think your name shall go down into history

Marin is best waifu

Would certain characters be redesigned to remove the gratuitous Mario references, or should they be kept in?

>Cartoon

>Not an animated movie

youtube.com/watch?v=vbMQfaG6lo8

As a porn.

tone down, but not necessarily remove, they help make things a bit weird and reinforce that it's a dream

>Dark Souls
Eh, not really.
Dark Souls is all about the visuals and deadful feeling they evoke, while Gendy's is all about artful exaggeration.
It'd probably do better in a Disney-style animation, like Sleeping Beauty and such.

I would say just ripoff Berserk, but the animation in both versions are pretty bad.

Completely agree.

loz has always been very whimsical, about the beauty and joy of exploration like moana
of discovering the unknown, of finding what was lost, so a stylized, bright and fantasy-esque look would fit, to evoke wonder at new sights, terror at new dangers, and a sense of delight as you find new treasure or a new location

It used to be.

But everything changed the day the Aonuma Nation attacked.

Every single M-girl has been absolutely top waifu

Though they didn't (and couldn't) end up together, I felt that Link's Awakening more than most other Zeldas hinted at Link having romantic feelings for someone. Adding on to the fact that he was forced to destroy Koholint made the ending feel very bittersweet to me, particularly when I was little. Link/Marin was like the first ship I ever had.

From Ocarina onwards, it seems like a staple of the series to have a bittersweet parting of ways with a companion character (Tatl, King Hyrule, Midna, Ezlo, Fi, etc), but if Link's Awakening were remade today, I feel the ending wouldn't be so much bittersweet as it would be tragic. Would there be a way to make it less so?

harem anime

The dating sequence was the funniest thing

I was a kid with strict parents, so gameboy was my first experience with zelda since they never got me a super Nintendo, so I never knew about "the" zelda

I was easily impressed and never saw the twist coming, and after saving marin from the bridge, and seeing the ending, I thought for sire link would BS some way to save her, but all I got was nothing

that really stuck with me for a long time, the poignant and sombre nature of it all, first time I pondered the ending instead of just doing my victory dance, and I would give a lot to see that whole thing undfold in front of my eyes one more time

How would Sup Forums write a Nier cartoon?

My kingdom for a link to just the clip where the king is saying "what is your purpose?!"

>Marin, Malon, Midna, Maple
Am I missing any?

I know, I loved it. She's so kind and friendly, and then when she follows you around she has the oddest sense of humor.

nice dubs
>dig!dig to the center of the earth!

I think my favorite is when she asks if she can play the crane game, and if you let her she uses the crane to grab the game operator and gets you both thrown out

If LA were remade, I feel like Marin would be Midna-levels of playful, but more friendly.

Disney movie
Visual aesthetic inspired by Sleeping Beauty
Original story within the game timeline
Goron and Zora sidekicks

link/marin is otp, that's why it couldn't exist

I guess the easiest answer is to just adapt the Ishinomori comic

Aside from that I really have no idea. Link and Zelda are so generally devoid of real personality I have a hard time figuring out how to write them and Hyrule changes every major release so there's not even a real sense of setting being the most superficial elements

>he hasn't seen the map for Breath of the Wild
The plateau is almost a perfect recreation of OoT Hyrule, only almost completely smashed or fallen to pieces
It's going to be so much fun just matching up places on the map

Seeing all these Marin-bros makes me happy

Having capable allies would be cool.
Would you want a Navi/Midna-style companion character? What would be ideal for that?

someone like armor-zelda from spirit tracks, big strong and for some reason more adorable then other armors that look qualitatively identical

Sup Forums is love, user. Besides, it's impossible to have played Link's Awakening and not be in love with Marin.

> it's impossible to have played Link's Awakening and not be in love with Marin
That much is true

>Sup Forums is love
god, I haven't heard that in years.

I always thought that this design made more sense than her game manual artwork, being an islander and all. I like them both though.

Something like this:
ign.com/videos/2008/04/01/link-stars-trailer-legend-of-zelda-movie-trailer-debut-hd

The important thing, I think, would be to nail the costumes and monsters. Maybe cut down on the mcguffin collection and skip straight to the Master Sword.

Why not combine both?

What if Link had another fairy companion, but this particular Link gained Minish Cap-like shrinking abilities, so there would be times when he'd be the same size as the fairy?

Link awakens one day to discover he has been cursed with blonde hair.

He spends the entire movie trying to get his proper head of brown hair back.

>I always thought that this design made more sense than her game manual artwork, being an islander and all. I like them both though.

Well she is supposed to look like a tropical version of Zelda, Link even confuses her for the princess at the beginning of the game.

I think Tetra kind of followed that idea of a caribean zelda.

We real oldfag hours now, boy
Anyway it's fucking bedtime, this old man needs his beauty sleep. Goodnight.

she seems to be more like skyward sword zelda in the realm of sweet hearts

goodnight Sup Forumsmrade.

...I actually haven't been a regular here since about 2012. Do we still say "Sup Forumsmrade?" There seems to be a lot of people throwing around "Sup Forumslmblr" now, which is unfortunate.

That would open up tiny dungeons, and the ability for a fairy to help you in unique ways like carrying you short distances and stuff.
The shipping potential would also skyrocket.

100% Midna
No Zelda

Main conflict loosely based on the legend of why all princesses are named Zelda, which was told in the Zelda-2 game manual.
Main structure will follow "hero's journey" concept, letting a weak Link grow stronger by visiting and helping strangers he meets along the way.
Movie would not include the event of any game, but would be designed to not conflict with the games, and preferably precede all games.
Link is young at the beginning, and he lives a pleasant life with his adopted parents and their daughter Impa.
Impa is Link's best pal for life, and will help him on his quest. No romantic overtones for Link, but lots of girls will seem to like him.
The Prince has some kind of disdain for the Sheikah in general. Part of the resolution may involve coming to peace with them.
Impa is injured early on, and is revived by Zelda. This give Link and Impa a reason to visit Hyrule Castle, and will later end up being the reason that Zelda doesn't die when the wizard attacks her, and instead goes to sleep.
Robin Williams must be resurrected so that he can be the King of Hyrule. The King will die of age related illness, shortly after the villain is exposed. Link and Impa will flee the city with the King's blessing and his green shirt. The quest will be to find the strength they need to return, although that will likely not be spelled out directly.

Best Link/partner relationship

I'd want to see a fairy with an interesting backstory. Other races have been given their own cultures, but for how prevalent in the games they've been fairies seem kind of mysterious.

futa midna is best midna

Haven't played skyward in a while. You didn't really get to hang out with Zelda though, right? It felt like their friendly relationship was more implied than actually seen.

youtube.com/watch?v=y8XUf-8PD8Y

>waifu potential
>interacting with a fairy both as she's small, and also as she's the same size as you
I like those possibilities
I don't like these possibilities

>He doesn't like the possibility of imp Midna railing him with her fat girlcock
Fag.

>Link doesn't talk

Stop this meme. Link talks, we just don't hear him say anything, just people responding to what he says.

like this
youtube.com/watch?v=V6WP5GQ6iFo

she is also friend to everything, she hates it when you hit cuckoos

This

marin is also badass, she uses the sea bell as a weapon in hyrule warriors

what is this abortion?

or do you have a midrift fetish?

Why is Link so lewd?

Which Links?
OoT is for sex but WW is for cuddle

Came into this thread solely to make sure this was linked because goddamn that was high quality.

Wind Waker is honestly most suited to an animated TV series.

The story behind it was hilarious, apparently it and the other two videos were all made to troll some autist who made an awful fanscript for a Zelda movie

>How would Sup Forums write a Legend of Zelda movie?
Pretentious as fuck, super dramatic with a comic relief side character

Actually it is. Imagine all the different little filler episodes that could be about Link sailing to some island and meeting people.

maybe because it is cute

...

...

I agree
WW is the perfect one for an ongoing series with no set story, the rest of the games work better as movies.

...

...

>giving Link a normie gf in the game with Midna and the hottest Zelda

What the fuck were they thinking?

MM is kino

...

Fish tits

Because Link likes to link humans with elves

Human tits

...

>Cremia is so desperate for affection that she seduces a twelve year old boy.

>Human
Cow tits

I never knew how badly I wanted a game about Ganondorf until now.

Link is 9 years old, 10 at best. MM and OoT have three months between them

Why not? Her best friend did it.

God damn it Plague.

...

...

I always thought that he was 11 so he could be the chosen hero at age 18.

...

He made a huge mistake not staying at Romani Ranch

CUTE!

I wanna fuck that Link.

Nah OoT is the youngest Link to take up arms, the rest are 12-13 or 16-18.
OoT is 9 and 16, maybe 10 in MM.

...
