I really enjoyed the Green Lantern movie. Shame it did so poorly.

> This cast...
> Sinestro, Stewart & Natu are the leads...
> Sinestro is heavily used training the shit out of them both being new to being GLs.
> Natu resents beings basically forced to be a GL instead of doctor she bad worked for years to be.
> Sinestro starts acting liking he is hiding stuff from them and disappearing for long periods.
> Stewart & Natu make their way to the father/Daughters home world and discover Sinestro has insalved it and is busy putting a rebellion down.
> They decide to work with the rebels to overthrow him.

>Idris Elba
Every time.

>Woman's voice starts talking
"A long time ago, in the harsh, unwoken thickness of Reality, there was mostly ignorance. Bliss and kindness came out of it, and a golden age of unprecedented development started. Some said, then, that God looked over his Creation, and provided contentment for it."
"But a young, eternal race, thirsty for hidden truths, discovered a forbidden secret... and unleashed the curse of knowledge and enlightement upon the Universe"
"In order to remedy to their terrible mistake, and bring a long lost peace to Reality, this race, the Guardians race, established a Corps to protect and save everyone and everything"
"With their emerald weapon of will... the Green Lantern Corps still serve today"

John, bewildered, in pain when contemplating the broken city: "Is it always like this?"
Hal: "What do you mean?"
John: "This mantle...". He turns: "Did I just agree to being a soldier again?"
Hal, his hand on John's shoudler: "John, I know you're new at this. Believe me, our sector is full of frights and awful things. But no, no it's rarely this gruesome."
"See, the Kalganian world's call for help has been intercepted for almost a year now. The Tyrant waging war against its Republic has been free to wreak havoc for too long."
"But we're here now. And I'll show you. This ring... This mantle. They're not a soldier's. They're fixers"
>John's looking better at Hal's world
>Suddenly, on their rings transmetters
"Guys, have you found an entry point? We checked on our side, but I think we've been... Aaaah"
Tomar-Tu: "Humans, shake those feelings out! Katma's in trouble!"

Con't.

>Tomar, John & Hal flies to see Katma, who has been intercepted by some Tyrant's soldiers
>But before the three can help her, a light of green disperses and kills the few soldiers
"C'me there, you're not going to let these couple geezers give you trouble people!"
"Let's not lose anymore time now. I say we go in (he shows the Tyrant's palace), and start kicking some goddamn ass already!"

Never saw this series. I really hate the CGI style of this and BTB. Still, funny I had it right on this one ^^

Small introduction about the Guardians and how they forged at the beggining of time the green ring out of the all colors of the spectrum.

The movie begins and Hal Jordan's already been from the Green Lantern corps for a while. He's out in a mission with Sinestro, who still serves as sort of a mentor to him. They pick up a distress call from Oa, some prisoners have escaped from their cells and have grabbed a ship. One of those criminals is Atroticus, an alien known for have destroyed hundreds of civillizations. They seem to be close to it so they go to investigate.

They find the ship and out of fear that Atrocitus may escape, Sinestro blasts it and makes it land on a deserted planet nearby. The prisoners scatter but Sinestro impales them with small needles, to the surprise of Jordan, which thinks he's using excessive force. "Fear is the only thing that works with this scum". Atrocitus then starts to threaten Sinestro and his home planet, saying that if he ever escapes he’ll go there and kill his own people. Sinestro gets angry and Atrocitus manages to escape his constructs and jumps away, but Sinestro hits him with another construct and sends him flying away into space, apparently killing him.

They return to Oa and SInestro tries to convince the Guardians to use the yellow power of fear. They of course think it's too dangerous and dismiss Sinestro's idea. Hal seems to be worried about Sinestro's approach and consults it with his other friends Tomar-Re and Kilowog.

Sinestro flies away from Oa into Mogo, the living planet in which the Guardians hid the power of the color spectrum. There Sinestro forges the red ring of anger, but it proves to be too strong for Sinestro to handle. He then forges the Yellow Lantern.

We then go to Earth, where Jordan's stopping some kind of crime (opportunity to have some JL cameos), when he's informed that has been a breakout from the science cells in Oa. Apparently it’s been Sinestro, that has been giving yellow rings to the most trustworthy criminals.

He arrives to find Oa submerged in chaos. He and a team of Lanterns are called by the Guardians, and they explain how Sinestro has escaped to Korugar. The team then goes to confront him there, but they are ambushed by the new Yellow Lanterns, the Sinestro Corps. The scene is supposed to look intimidating, with all the sinestro corps chanting their oath at the same time, surrounding the Green Lanterns.

They then start to fight, but Jordan escapes and goes to confront Sinestro, that’s sitting on a big castle, surrounded by fellow residents of Korugar. The Sinestro starts talking about the past of Korugar and how their leaders had been terrible people and how he intends to fix that.

Hal tells him that what he’s doing is not right, but Sinestro answers by saying that his intentions with his people are good, and that he doesn’t care anymore about the outside multiverse. Jordan then tells him that he can’t fight an old friend, to which Sinestro only says “Then leave and never come back”.

FINAL ENTRY

>Guy is greatly wounded, and escapes at the end with a few Lanterns (Tomar-Tu, Soranik, Katma, some others)
>They all disperse in the Universe to save their loved ones and vow never to be GL after such a defeat
>Guy retreats on a lone planet and begins a life of drunken hermit
>John is forever lost on Qwad
>Hal is possessed
>The Sinestro Corps starts ruling
>Sinestro's rules is hyper harsh but somewhat fair, although his troups are hardcore and tyrannic by nature, and starts a violent rule on the Universe
>On Earth, the Justice League hears about most of this and mourns Hal, John, Guy, believing them all dead
>They prepare for a careful watch, and vow not to let Sinestro come on Earth

>A young man, broke, not a goddamn hope worth, comes out of a Chicago pub at 3am
>His eyes hazy and lost
>"Here you are"
>Ganthet over his head, in Green glow, looking at him with confidence and happiness

>"Kyle Rainer...? Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps"

And here you have a new Franchise, DC!

What did you guys think of my GL premise? Utter fanfic nonsense or the start of a good idea?
Like the end of it? (open-ended, leading to a new movie and introducing Kyle) Or hate it?

It's alright until the end, although to be fair I hate Kyle and would prefer only the other three. Or replace him with Jessica or something

The Sinestro/Hal-shipping would be thick.

>not using GL-themed Odyssey
One job, user.

Ah, sorry pal, you're right! I enjoyed those Movies inspired covers of the month!

Thank you for your feedback user! I personaly really love Kyle, so I'm entirely partial in this.

Buddy cop movie in space with Sinestro as the grizzled 'close to retirement' cop and Hal as his new partner.

Main bad guy is Atrocitus, who murdered Sinestro's old partner Abin Sur and escapes in the same crash that brings Hal his ring. This brings the 'final scene' of the movie back to Earth despite most of the film taking place on other worlds

The 'theme' is a very noir movie-esque commentary on the moral grey of justice - as Atrocitus is a murderer but the Guardians purged his sector, etc etc.

Sequel hook is Atrocitus being banished to Ysmault where he forges the red battery out of his rage

Post-credits scene. The red ring previously forged by Sinestro is picked up by Atrocitus, who claims vengeance on Sinestro and the Green Lanterns

Incidentally, Mark Strong plays gay guys really well.
