>Next: G.I. (Annoyed Grunt)

Previous thread:

We're into the era where every episode is a struggle to complete.

Agreed. Barely even laugh at the dialogue now.

The nose, bud thing always gets me. I have a weak spot for stupid, simple word play like that.

Post yfw you are watching the simpsons die in real-time

You posted my face

I sort of feel that around seasons 22-23ish it gets "better" in that it gets even worse, and also so becomes memorable/interesting through how bad it is. Like if you're watching to see just how bad things can get, That '90s Show nothing, those seasons are what you should really be focusing on.

I haven't seen all of them or even half, but the episodes in the 18-21 range definitely aren't good, but are just kind of safe-/boring-bad (with a few really bad exceptions). Like, you can watch them and think "yep, this sure is bad" but then forget them all the next day because there's nothing really unusually bad about them.

This isn't really a recommendation though. Maybe a trainwreck warning or something.

This is the season before the Movie isn't it?

The movie was so much better than these late season Simpsons. It was almost as good as season 10.

Yep.

They're not showing the movie, it looks like.

Did they show the movie during the last marathon?

Is season 22-23 where that awful more salt bit comes from.

That seems accurate. Since the mid twenties seasons the writing has been so bad that everything is jarring and weird all the time. Jokes barely have any setup, the characters show up wherever they're needed for the plot with no explanation. I don't know how it can get worse but I know it will.

That was the weirdest ending to an episode I've seen yet

they just cut away from the story to a Jonah Jameson expy so that he can shout "PHOTOS OF SPIDERMAN" etc and then it ended

what the fuck

Its a LOOK AT US WE CULTURALLY RELEVANT AND PARODYING POP CULTURE thing.

haha, its almost as if the simpsons is some kind of a wacky comedy

>Homer finally at the nuclear plant only to get fired a minute later

Well its something

So we're long past the point of no return right?

that was a cool scene

think it was a parody of some euro commercial

you can stop watching anytime

If you've made it this far, you might as well go to the end.

>feels so good
i tell you hwat

how bout reading the thread?

Wasn't marge already a painter

>tfw Comic Book Guy's star wars rant is still true to this day

Has CBG said anything about episode 7 yet

>WE JUST LIKE WHIPPING!

One of the latest episodes has him waiting alone in the theater for Force Awakens midnight screening (wasnt released at the time of air)

He says he wants to be the first to see it, but knows it'll fucking suck to high heaven

Wonder how long they wanted to do that.

I remember liking this episode when it aired.

Too late to ask, but do you prefer Bully Nelson or Bart's friend Nelson?

Did Marge forget Nelson's a bully?

Milhouse and Nelson fused together to become Bart's abusive boyfriend.

A mix of both I guess.

Why don't they use an actual good joke for the promo?
Who the fuck wrote that? Who approved it?
It's so stupid.

SALT

I still believe the joke should've ended when he ran past the Dead Sea sign.
"Maybe if I" kills the joke.

>christmas simpletons

>Why don't they use an actual good joke for the promo?

I have a feeling they know what they're doing to us.

I mean, the promo stuff for the Every Simpsons Ever marathon was all the classic bits everyone remembers.

So, I feel like the unfunny salt promo is a deliberate choice.

I liked that Nelson episode, hell of a lot better than Homer loses his job, gets a wacky job, pisses off Marge and makes up with her at the end.

Why did they think the Grumple was funny enough to make into a recurring character?

Who was the boss parodying?

He's a recurring character, not a one-off.

A Gil episode?

His only one.

Bumblebee Man episode when?

Probably the same reason they kept using the cat lady.

The Cat Lady didn't appear for like five years after her first appearance.

it aired either before or after, I think after, but not during

Have you ever had a Gil in your life?

My brothers that are in and out of jail

She was still brought back and became recurring ever since. She even got her own episode.

>This is the most DISGUSTING place we've ever been to!
>What about Brazil?

TRIGGERED

They should've said Australia 2bh

Oh, is this the episode where Bart and Homer die?

Just when I thought the Simpsons couldn't get more timeless, they do a parody of The Perfect Storm. You sure keep up with the youth, Jean.

>mother relieved to see her husband
>daughter relieved to see her brother

Nah

Bart and Lisa are basically a married couple now.

>episode just ends with Lisa eternally BTFO

Good end??

Just checked the schedule.

We've got The Boys of Bummer today.

5:30 PM Eastern.

As long as Maggie goes on to be completely underused and forgotten, we're all BTFO

I honestly find the 20's to be generally better than the late teens, outside one season that was just awful. 24 I think. I actually liked 27 and most of this new one so far.

The latest season or two relies more on freelanced writers than the actual Simpsons crew, so the quality of the episodes is all over the place

>We ran out of story to tell!
>Just do a list of Star Wars character names.

This is true. It's also why the premieres and finales are always the worst of the season now.

It's just what the show needed honestly, if we arent gonna get different perspectives from showrunners anymore, may as well get it from writers.

Also Matt Selman needs more episodes to showrun a season

Is this the episode about the family having a black slave ancestor

DUDE WHITE PEOPLE HAVE NO INTERESTING HERITAGE, CULTURE OR HISTORY LMAO

...

No, it's the one where Bart gets a license and hooks up with a pregnant girl.

Who is your favorite Simpsons character anyway?

Do you still like them even in the zombie years or are they JUST awful?

Barney I guess, at least he's no longer sober during the zombie era.

Milhouse, and I firmly believe he's the one character to never stop being hilarious for me.

>calling it a moon bounce

>I'm calling from inside the trunk.

>What's the difference between ketchup and catsup?
>THEY'RE GONNA CUT MY HEAD OFF!

What a life Homer leads

>you will never have an older BIG gf

barts gettin laid

>kiss girl
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MARRY ME MARRY ME MARRY ME

what the fuck

Bart's worse than Homer, least he took responsibility.

How can people diss manlets when they get all the tall girls?

Bart's only 10.

Homer was in his late 20's.

>you should take responsibility when you're ten
>its not even his fucking kid, with homer it was

jesus fuck this lisa b plot
