Red Pill me on Grant Morrison

Red Pill me on Grant Morrison

Don't use the term redpill you weird interracial/cuckold fetishist.

No, he's a talentless hack fuck.
Don't read his stuff.

52 MAGICKS HYPERCRISIS

>Red Pill me

he bald.

Google you faggot

An actual great writer which Sup Forums will never get it.

user, that's a picture of Grant Morrison, not Alan Moore.

He really likes black men for some reason. I think it's a sexual thing but I'm not sure. It might just be that he wishes he was black.

as someone who lives in NZ this is true

He actually is better than many published "real book" authors who are successful, but in every Morrison book there's always a point where he loses the audience.
You're just reading along, enjoying his story, and then: BAM! Plot twist! And damned if you can't tell that it's not just you - but everyone who reads that book - who he lost at that point.
It's just something Morrison always does.

I'm pretty sure he literally believes in and actively practices "black magic."

No he doesn't.
There aren't even black men in all his stories.
Take that racebaiting shit back to Sup Forums.

He doesn't lose the readers, he loses the plot.
Morrison's method is to make a plot so convoluted that eventually he's made it too convoluted even for himself and his solution is to abandon the plot.

Cthulhu must be fed.

>all this time the hypercrisis was really meme magic
>all this time meme magic was just the inevitable repetition of common themes and selectively acknowledging those repeat symbols while disregarding new ideas

As someone who read the majority of his work, where does this actually happen?

You racist shitstorm trollers say the same exact crap about Bendis.

embraces absurdity of superhero comics to varying but usually positive results.

>scotsman does lots of drugs
>believes he's been abducted by aliens
>makes lateral-thought connections between stories because DRUGS
>questions the nature of reality because PSYCHEDELICS
>writes stories that normies think are genius because of REFERENCES

This would be a /thread/ with just one more sentence - while remodeling iconography of the comic medium using esoteric and post-modern themes

They say the same thing about. They're projecting their own repressed desires to be raped and enslaved by the owner of a superior black penis.

Bendis has adopted black kids and a strong desire to replace white characters with his black OCs to back up those claims.

Sup Forumsmblr everybody

Usually around the third act plot twist, but sometimes it's in the second act.
In his X-Men run it was with Xorn Magneto, but there were little problems before that.
In his JLA run it was Luthor's magic reality rock, but those (early plot twist spoiler) White Martians weren't that wonderful.
The Crisis thing fell apart hard in the third act.
Batman RIP had Black Glove being this big international conspiracy that didn't even rate as much as a Joker hick-up, and that was after "Zur-en-Ar" being a Batman self-hypnosis failsafe...?
All-Star Superman had all that alt-future-past-multiversity of Superman stuff and the very ending is where it finally goes off the rails.
And then there's his non-BigTwo stuff where there's nothing holding him back: where he just goes nuts with it.

Nah man, considering how much the alt-right goes on about people being cuckolds and their weird obsession with interracial relationships I honestly don't find that assumption out of place at all.

I've yet to meet a well adjusted man or woman on the "alt right".

Are you done turning yet another thread into a discussion of your white inferiority complex?
Because some boards aren't here for Sup Forums bullshit.

>thinks he can take over NZ but can't spell conceptually

You socialize a lot with the alt right? I'm guessing you don't socialize much outside of your small social bubble, if at all.

An important part of his Batman run is him retconning Batman's more absurd adventures and enemies into drug induced hallucinations.

I think this can be said of most soldiers

I do socialise quite a bit with people from lots of different walks of life.

Have a met many alt-right people? No. Have I met a few alt-right people? Yes, and none of them have been properly socially adjusted people.

Also, this is Sup Forums not /r9k/ don't bring your /r9k/ views about people's social lives to Sup Forums

He was more interesting in a pre-Wikipedia era but in hindsight, and especially with his modern books, it just seems like he lifted ideas from every creepypasta/links thread.

My take on Grant Morrison:

>the work
When I was just getting into comics and I only read actiony stuff, I thought he was one of the greats. Years later, tastes broadened and hundreds of series under my belt, I don't see the appeal anymore. I don't dislike it per se, I'm just not interested; I'm neutral on it.

>as a person
He's supposed to be very nice in-person at conventions. You know, when he's being paid to act like a nice person. When he isn't being paid to pretend to be nice, he's a rude, ruthless "me first" jerk who has never once apologized for screwing over other creators, talking shit about other creators and stealing from other creators. Some examples: His feud with Alan Moore began with him talking shit about Moore in the press during his "enfant terrible" phase, and he never apologized. He created a character based on one of Michael Moorcock's in the 70s, and he lied about the Moorcock connection for years until admitting the truth in the 90s, but he never apologized. One of his most recent comics was given to him after it was stolen away from Greg Rucka, of course he never apologized. He thinks very highly of himself and very lowly of everyone else. He's only a "nice" person when a convention pays him to hide his true self from the fans.

>his fanbase
Cancer, 'nuff said.

But he didn't need to, that was what that first Crisis was about.
And we damned well know Morrison was aware of the whole Crisis concept.
He CHOSE to make that crazy forgotten irrelevant crap of the past canon again!

Alan Moore shit talked him too. While I dig that Moorcock thing I don't see any particular reason why Morrison should apologise to Alan Moore.

Also, of all comic book writers Alan Moore seems to had comic books more than anyone.

Also, only like four of Alan Moore's stories are any good anyway.

the irony of asking to be red pilled on morrison

And you expected people who make their somewhat radical political leanings readily available to complete strangers to be socially well-adjusted people in the first place. You don't sound very sharp.

>Alan Moore shit talked him too.
Years later. What Morrison was doing was one-way shitting on Moore.

>Also, of all comic book writers Alan Moore seems to had comic books more than anyone.
What.

>Also, only like four of Alan Moore's stories are any good anyway.
Can you name which you liked and which you didn't like?

>Have I met a few alt-right people? Yes, and none of them have been properly socially adjusted people
Of course they are. Anyone that unironically calls themself "alt-right" is a fucking retard

>All-Star Superman had all that alt-future-past-multiversity of Superman stuff and the very ending is where it finally goes off the rails.

wat
there was nothing even remotely complicated in All Star
it's the most straight forward time-travel plot in comic book history

Gold Superman?
Superman-self of the near-future in face bandages, future generations of Superman offspring, and at the end of the story none of that is possible because Superman flies off to the sun's robot interior to die and we get the Bizarro-clone "2" hint...
Walk me through how that plays/played out in the expected/revealed future timetable of events Morrison had established.

It's simple. All of the descendant Superman come from Superman Secundus, the clone shown being hinted at in the end of the story. Superman Prime himself stayed in the sun for eons until emerging as a golden god.

Basically it's the same as the future history in DC 1,000,000 except that Superman stayed in the sun all along instead of wandering the universe for a long time before that.

Alan moore is the actual genius

No. You just have to have a grade 12 education to understand it. Its not hard, it is deep but not hard

So basically his stories eventually turn convoluted at best or 2deep4u at worst and the man himself is a cunt to others.

Got it.

No you just need to have graduated high school. It is as deep as you want to go but need to have an incling of intelligence to start. Most of Sup Forums read it, think they understand it and fail to ecplain it to others

truth

"Enlightening people on Grant Morrison just so happens to be my speciality"

It was just a replacement for LOSH, since DC butchered them with the reboot for wanting the Spider-man/marvel crowd.

He's a Wizard, aint he?

>52
uh-oh

He makes stupid people think they are smart because of "muh meta-pseudo intellectual garbage".

He is the Nolan of the superhero genre.

Most of his stories are pretty straight forward. You just have to pay a little more attention. Morrison writes convoluted plots is a stupid reddit meme.

He helps us identify the stupid people who try to hide their stupidity by complaining that things they don't understand are "muh meta-pseudo intellectual garbage".

He's very symmetrical

>He created a character based on one of Michael Moorcock's in the 70s, and he lied about the Moorcock connection for years until admitting the truth in the 90s, but he never apologized.
It was an obvious homage.

There is no reason why somebody who enjoys Alan Moore's work would not also enjoy Grant Morrison's work. The only reason Moore fans trash Morrison is because Moore did, and the only reason Moore trashed Morrison is because he has a huge ego and rarely has anything nice to say for anyone in the comics industry other than himself.

Morrison has done a lot of interesting thought-provoking stuff, you can like it or dislike it but he's definitely expanded what's acceptable in superhero books as well as doing really original stuff outside of superhero books. And his work on established characters like Superman and Batman shows he has a great love for them and a depth of knowledge about them, not just the popular stuff but the fringe weirdness which he manages to tap in to and bring back in a new way.

He largely employs critical theory and atypical narrative structure. He's also known for incorporating story elements from characters's history that would normally be considered too campy and/or obscure for modern audiences.

He's a writer that makes a point not to hold his audience's hand, and often it's pleasant to have the author trust in the audience's intelligence, but sometimes it means he makes sudden narrative turns that are almost impossible to follow.

>muh hypercrisis

>We can overthrow a country
>We played Call of Duty

The "Alt Right" doesn't exist

He can fairly claim to be the best cape writer of all time.

Oh you must be confused, you see neo-Nazis changed their name in a big rebranding effort.
That's who the "alt-right" are.
Go see for yourself on Sup Forums, where your post belongs.

What's so confusing? It's a son wanting to spend time with his father one last time

It's done in a fantastical manner with time traveling

All Star Superman is about the legacy of Superman as seen by the ending. These are the descendants of Superman, meeting a young Superman who's wanting to control everything by saving everyone while an older and wiser one goes back in time to see his father acknowledges him and let's go of control and trust fate and others

All those version of Superman is a play on how under Mort's editorship during the Silver Age had wacky versions of the character

You're just dumb and should go read more comics that don't suck ass

Only if you actually go to Sup Forums you see nobody calls themselves that and anyone who does is mocked. The whole thing is completely media created. Trying to link the guys on Sup Forums who shoop journalists into gas chamber memes to people like Jared Taylor as one big vast right wing conspiracy called the alt-right. Just like frog cartoons are a symbol of hate because Sup Forums used it for racist purposes, even though all of Sup Forums used Pepe for all sorts of other purposes.

He does. He's actually pretty racist. He has gay jungle fever. He's that upper class kid that wants to be working class and get jumped by black guys.

He loves the old wise black wizard shit and Steve Trevor added nothing to WW.

Take it back to Sup Forums you shithead.

>tfw intelligant enough for Morrison's comics

No they didn't. This whole thing is media orchestrated and it's frightening how easily fooled you people are

Listen kid, why don't you take a screenshot of this post, put it on Sup Forums, and then have a big ol' circlejerk about how triggered we all are by your retard mouthbreathing? Then at least you wouldn't be embarrassing yourself twice as hard as you are here.

>heh you guys are so SHEEPLES of the MEDIA for using a term we all used months before it ever got mainstream attention
>i KNOW because BREITBART told me, HEH

Alt-Right is a buzzword made by modern media to create a new Klan or neo-Nazi group, user. They need a target and don't want to address that they are fucking terrible at that their job with refugees, terroists being victims, and how they mishandled the election

The whole cuckhold thing is because being unable to please your partner is disgraceful and 'open relationships' is a meme created to normalize the inability to perform.

Race mixing is actual projection. Lot of the guys and some of the girl(male) on Sup Forums probably have many had the best time with 'progressive women' and want loyalty. They want the relationship to mean something which from watching some of my friends go nuts after a chick uses them I can see why they want more traditional values.

But hey at least they aren't you Mr. Birch.

You do honestly seem incredibly triggered

>tfw too intelligent for Morrison's comics

>Morrison fans are Alt-Right fags

Make sense to be honest, you must believe in retarded conspiracy theories to find Morrison's "plots" engaging.

Yeah dude I'm #literally #shaking from how stupid you are.

>"Go back to /pol"
>Never said anything remotely promoting Sup Forums ideas and just explained why the idea of the alt-right is a media fabrication
Okay.

Alt right has been used unironically by both Dailystormer and Breitbart, neither of which are liberal.

All OP said was Redpilled and the thread went to shit because you guys overreacted

Jesus Sup Forums is thin skinned

Are you retarded? You know in one of the series he's most famous for, The Invisibles, one of the main heroes was a Brazilian transsexual? Nothing alt-right about him or his fans.

Yeah, so?

Stormer is openly racist. Breitbart is rightwing Salon/ Slate/ huffpo. Liberals unironically supported rejecting pedophilla as a taboo under your logic.

You guys are aware lots of people use the term redpill as a synonym for getting woke/made aware of something? it's not just an alt-right/MRA thing. The movie The Matrix was made by two transgender sisters after all.

He has explained what magic is to him and it is basically just positive thinking, self fulfilling prophecies, and sniffing your own farts.

They are the most xenophobic board on the site. Not towards leddit or Tumblr, but towards crossboarders.

Sup Forums has been really on edge latly

>alt-right hates trannies and gay people

nice meme

>52
What does it all mean, Mr Morrison?

Well Sup Forums has always been hate filled. The cartoon board cried about people discussing a cartoon they don't like so it had to have it's own board

"Chaos Magick" you dirty nonbeliever

First of all Breitbart is not an alt-right website and never identified as one. They became associated with it because Milo Yiannopoulos wrote a journalistic article about it. Milo is gay, part Jewish, and prefers black dick. His article was mainly discussing Sup Forums and he took the (misinformed) position that what they said was just jokes and trolling. Immediately after Milo published this article Daily Stormer declared themselves 'The world's foremost alt-right website' or something like that, clearly with the intent of fucking over Milo by having such an explicitly racist website associated with a term that he had just tried to whitewash as non-racist.

To sum it up: Milo called Sup Forums alt-right, a term they never called themselves, and claimed they weren't racist and Stormer then took on the alt-right name just to troll Milo. Alt-right is not a thing as the media has presented it. The media tries to conflate several unrelated or only tangentially related things as all one thing called the alt-right: PUAs, MRAs, MGTOW, Sup Forums trolls and 14/88ers, neoreactionaries, reasonable supporters of restrictions on immigration, libertarians, etc. They're all being thrown into this umbrella label for no good reason.

Didn't Breitbart embrace the term alt-right? Yiannopolous is one of the few alt-righters who actually call themselves that.

>First of all Breitbart is not an alt-right website

literally said they're the voice of it

So who is this alt-right if they don't hate trannies? Go on Sup Forums, most people hate trannies and gays there. If Sup Forums is not alt-right who is? This just proves what a meaningless term it is. Does the alt-right hate black women, because one of the other heroes of The Invisibles was a black woman. And if the alt-right doesn't hate LGBT or blacks or women then what is so scary about them? I'm confused.

But Richard Spencer is apparently the king of the alt-right and he says that gays are an ancient volkish tradition and all true alt-righters must accept them

The alt-right is a meme

ALAN MOORE I'LL KILL YOU FOR TRYING TO RUIN SUPERMAN

GRANT MORRISON IS THE TRUE HERO AND PROTECTS US FROM YOUR FILTH

Geoff Johns too. He's the best. Cereal magic + Hypercrisis > Moore's chaos magic

More media bullshit, Milo has never called himself alt-right. He's part Jewish and likes sucking black dick. He wrote one article ABOUT the alt-right, not really promoting it but describing it. He sort of downplayed Sup Forums's racism as trolling, which it is for some but it's also serious for many. So, at worst you could say it was a bad journalistic article about the alt-right. Somehow in the mainstream media that got spun into 'Breitbart is a white nationalist alt-right website' when basically it's a run of the mill conservative site.

Bannon I guess was quoted as saying that which doesn't really make sense given that they only wrote one article about it which didn't even really promote it. If I had to interpret what he meant in that quote, assuming it's accurate: platform in this context means 'opportunity to voice one's views'. The people Milo identified as 'alt-right' did voice their views, in that article, through quotes. So it's a platform for them in that sense. But that doesn't mean they advocate it. If the New York Times interviews a Communist Party member that doesn't make NY Times commie propaganda.
