The Mummy (1932-2017) - general

Previously All mummies welcome. Brendanfags, Universal Monsters grandpas, Hammer film, Dark Universe... doesn't matter.
Discuss, speculate, share Your thoughts, worship Ahmanet, whatever. Lets go!

mummy panty?

What do You mean?

does mummy wear panty?

Brendan Fraser would be disappointed in you

The ending of Brendan's Mummy 2 is one of the most surprisingly sad scenes.

I guess, either very small under wraps costume... or maybe not.

this is some sad shilling desu

How is this shilling? Just some horn dog wanting to post about Sofa buttnutella
no one on Sup Forums buys blurays and the movie is probably not in cinemas anymore...

Would Tomb of the Dragon Emperor have been watchable if they got Rachel Weisz?

Stop making this threads, nobody cares about this shitty movie.

it's not about the movie itself but the cinematic universe, dcfags and godzilla people do it too

Brendanfags and dark universe shit shouldnt be welcomed. Only the old shit is any good.

Ye, probably best part of "The Mummy Returns" or at least only part I liked, as it was pretty surprising.

This thread is about all mummy movies. Previous threads had +/-20 people talking and they were also talking about more or less correlation between. There were guys tearing movie apart, explaining questions related to Egypt or analysing certain scenes. Pretty cool conversation between people who were intrested in, check if You want.
To sum up, things we learnt from these:
>Egyptians invented pra-predecessor of toothpaste.
>Mercury got so big density, that even cannonball floats to the surface, when submerged in.
>difference between hieroglyphs and hieratic scripting.
>various things about movie, behind the scenes and other things
>tattoos and makeup were not really accurate
>difference between egyptian gods of death, Anubis, Osiris and Set.
>information about cinema mummies history
Of course, these were just quick Q&A, and later could explore more on Your own.
If You want to know real shilling, take a look at dozens Star Trek Discovery threads that pop up in last 24 hours.

You should be buried alive with scarabs.

To be honest each have flaws.

1932 Mummy
>copy of Dracula, just set in Egypt. Nice concept but story is meeh. 7/10

1940 Mummy Hand
>this one is great, but 1st half is pointless mess, 7/10

1942 Mummy Tomb
1944 Mummy Ghost
1944 Mummy Curse
>all of these are so similar, so repetitive and even use same scenes cut from each previous one, all are almost same so 3/10

Hammer Films:
1959 Mummy
>cool one, but not really that great 5/10

1964 Curse of Mummy Tomb
1967 Mummy Shroud
1971 Blood from Mummy Tomb
>intresting ideas, but poor executed 3/10 each

Other:
1980 The Awaking
1981 Dawn of the Mummy
1993 Mummy Lives
>nothing good to say about these, 2/10

1998 Tale of Mummy
>terrible but retarded fun, objective 2/10, but liked it

2014 Pyramid
>not really mummy movie, but related, beginign and 'found footage' in Egyptian ruins is fun, rest is meeh 4/10

2014 Mummy Ressurected
>this one worst of them all AVOID IT! Cruise one is Oscar winning marerial compared to this 1/10

Universal (Brendan series and spinoffs)
1999 Mummy
>cool as adventure comedy, but isn't even trying to be serious 7/10

2001 Mummy Returns
>nearly same to previous, just changed details 4/10

Non-Egyptian mummy:
2008 Dragon Emperor
>suuucks 2/10

king scorpion spinoffs 1-4
>each of them was awful, 1/10

Universal Dark Universe
2017 Mummy
>I like how it tries to go back to gothic horror theme from 40s, but fails a bit. Maybe if Dark Universe estabilises, we may enjoy this more. Great set designs, scenes and actions, but messy scripting and editing 6/10

To be honest, each had issues. Half of them are just shit.

Jesus, Brendan, you really researched that role, huh?

thats nothing, one of previous thread got THIS LEVEL OF AUTISM

Forgot to factor in heat.
4/10

This faggot scared the shit out of me when I was younger

Would it make any change? She is in a box surrounded by liquid mercury, in an underground hole.
I think she would be the only heat source. Mercury would isolate anything else, and being underground should be cold enough.

Is the Dark Universe even still happening.

Seems like. Movie did 407 mil worldwide. They expected around 350. Bill Condon (Beauty and Beast - this year biggest boxoffice hit) is directing "Bride of Frankenstein" which is also kind of beauty&best story.
Saved this, just in case. Of course nothing Sup Forums said is 100% realible, but we may find out in future. Honestly I've been looking forward to this Dark Universe. MCU is too cheezy, they got no balls to kill villians or heroes. DC is bit too messy. Only time will tell.
