Halloween is almost upon us, what classic/modern horror movies do you recommend and why?

Kicking things off with this hit by John Carpenter.

watch it every year

I remember staying up all night a few days before Halloween with my mom who couldn't sleep and AMC I think was marathoning all the Halloween movies and we watched them all. One of the fondest memories.

It was fucking great when I first saw it a couple years ago on halloween
>comfy halloween kino

Will give it a shot
Ooooh sounds comfy user, good times :)

Everyday I watch a scary movie in october. It's fun!

The greatest anthology horror movie and one of the greatest anthology movies period.

Best horror movie ever. Great atmosphere, Great characters.

Which F13 would you say is the best? I'd go with either 2 or 6.

Part 4

>Halloween is almost upon us
IT'S STILL SEPTEMBER YOU ABSOLUTE MONG

6, 4 and 2 are the best.

>John Carpenter has a live show in Las Vegas on the 29th of October
Fuck my life if I won't make it, why did I have to be born in Finland

Get Out

I was shocked by how good it actually is.

Castle Freak is pretty good. Family moves into a castle that happens to also house the eponymous freak. Good spooks and some tense action.

It Follows was pretty good and pretty comfy.

Cabin Fever 2

if you want to shit your pants, watch it at night, alone.

(it's the original, 'the grudge', but is much better than the american version(s))

Cherry Falls
House on Sorority Row

The original is a better movie, but the American version is scarier.
The American version is pretty cheesy in everything except the horror scenes, which are 10/10.
Both are worth seeing.

October is only a few days away, user

...

Donnie Darko isn't horror but Halloween kino

Halloween>Halloween III>Halloween II>Halloween IV>Halloween H2O>>>>Halloween V>Halloween VI=Rob Zombies Halloween>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Halloween Resurrection

>Reddit Darko
>Kino

No

Starry Eyes.

Good old-fashioned Rosemary's Baby style cultist horror, with some added body horror, and a great performance from the unknown lead. Memorable soundtrack too. It's like a version of The Neon Demon that isn't boring style-over-substance shit.

Mania Cop - Because I remember it being awesome when I was a kid.

>mad because he didn't understand the kino

>can't even come up with a good pun

Anyone have that "not well known horror list" image?

personally i am going to be enjoying Stranger Things season two :)

...

I highly recommend Ginger Snaps. It's a very good movie.

Not the greatest but still underrated. Good throwback to 80's slashers from 2001.

Agreed but also gotta throw in X for the cheese.

day of the dead.

the best romero film
