Wherein we discuss Image.

What are your favorite completed series?

What happened to Top Cow?

What is your favorite current series?

What is the reason this is the only image ever used for Image threads?

Has anybody heard anything about The Dying and The Dead? I know it was going on hiatus but c'mon

>What is the reason this is the only image ever used for Image threads?
If you start with Island covers then your thread will be deleted.

As it should be.

Invincible by Robert Kirkman is probably the best series I've ever read

I like kill or be killed and glitterbomb currently

I just really hope Invincible can end on a high note. Then it can be the metric for good cape shit.

...

>kill or be killed
nice desu ne

Reading some Maxx, What do you guys think f this book

I like it so far, more engaging than The Fade Out and Fatale, imo. The social commentary lacks depth and feels kinda forced tho.

How does Sup Forums like Cannibal so far? Seems like a slow burner but I'm enjoying the premise a lot, especially how the so called Cannibals feel remorse for what they done and it's an interesting take on the zombie genre.

Is anyone else but me excited that Sun Bakery is coming to Image?

Dunno what it is.

What's the skinny? Some mango?

It's a one man anthology comic by the guy that made Sharknife. The first 4 issues were independently printed and image is going to reprint from #1 and then continue.

Ooh, this looks flashy in just the right ways.
Will keep an eye out. Thanks

Im excite
his art is tops.

My favorites right now are black science (im on vol 4) suffering the comic, deadly class suffering teen angst but also feels the comic.

Im still so damn disappointed about the manhattan projects being (possibly) death
it reached an interesting as fuck middle point and i wanted to know whats charon about
but its probably infinite oppenheimers... on flesh

Have you been reading 72E?

Am I the only person that liked Saints? I never see it mentioned anywhere.
And does anyone know when new Rumble is coming out?

Rumble seems like it's been delayed a lot lately.

Black Science
Wic+Div
72E
Jupiter's Legacy
Reborn

I'm excited to see the end of this arc of Jupiter's Legacy and then suffer for eternity until the concluding volume. As for the other pulls they're all pretty fantastic even though I didn't like the magazine issue of Wic+Div at all. I wanna start Deadly Class. Is it worth reading 23 back issues?

>all those random as fuck covers
>furries?

Should I even ask what the fuck this comic was about?

it's a magazine and a new artist gets to draw each one. A famous furfag doxy got to make a comic and instead of creating some cool art like everyone else he decided to draw characters from his gay furry porn

It's such a fucking blight on the series. Imagine being one of the poor bastards who was buying this comic and gets faced with that shit

Haha longboy

>What are your favorite completed series?
Godland, Body Bags (considering Pearson switched from DH to Image, I count it.), Aphrodite IX

>What happened to Top Cow?
No idea. I know I haven't liked any of their 2015 output, and don't know if they even had any 2016 output.

>What is your favorite current series?
Black Science, Jupiter's Legacy, Seven To Eternity, East Of West

>What happened to Top Cow?
It was the leading Image studio for much of the late 90's to 2000's, then SJWs, the TWD show, Skybound (among Image developments at the time), and Silvestri's injury happened. As a result, Top Cow becomes more and more like Image Central, and Pilot Season is replaced by Talent Hunt.

Pearson's latest comic is published by a literally who though.

You would be martyfied.

Favote completed Zero
Favorite ongoing east of west and saga

Stuff I missed out on but would like to collect
Island (minus the fur fag issue, fuck that noise)
Monstress at least for the art, no clue if the story is good
Tokyo Ghosts
Stuff I'm looking forward to
Sun bakery
Motor Crush

>Sun bakery
The first three issues are on comiXology.

Storytime?

Oh and frontier might be rad and I'll probably pick up descended when it's complete as well

>What is your favorite current series?
I read East of West, Saga, Copperhead and Manifest Destiny. Hard to say which one is my fav, probably East of West.

Best of early Image.

See, unlike most of Image's early contributors, Sam Kieth is extremely self-deprecating instead of an egomaniac. Combine this with ML's treatment of his writing, and you get a comic that actually explores interesting ideas and uses the independence Image grants to create a unique aesthetic.

I know the original run wasn't published by Image initially, but my answer would be Stray Bullets for both.

Too bad his compositional skills are trash.
Or, at the very least, they were last time I read his stuff.

Same

But Sunshine and Roses should have ended 6 issues ago.

Lol @ people embarrassed by the furry cover to island. Your already read comic books, do you really think this is any more embarrassing than that?

It's not that it's embarassing to read a book with an animal person on the cover, you retard. It's that the cover is disgustingly low effort.

Everyone else poured their hearts out and tried their best to be imaginative and striking. They all tie to the title either through concept, isolation or imagery.

And this fucker just draws four furries in a straight-on angle with a "watery" background. It's disgusting.

Would you read a comic with a pro ISIS cover?

How is Island compared to anthologies from other companies like Vertigo, Avatar Press and Dark Horse, who manage to get trusted names on their books?

The worst thing is that it wasn't just a 4 page story either. It took up the cover and like 80% of the interiors

I really liked what I read of Autumnlands. I only got a little past what was collected in the first trade though. It got a little bit of hype from this board but it's well under the radar especially since it's written by Kurt Busiek. Looking forward to more Wytches from Snyder.

As far as finished stuff I liked Glory, Rising Stars, and Astounding Wolf-Man. I'm waiting on the HCs to finish reading up Prophet.

Anyone here reading paper girls?

You wouldn't?

Yes, clearly. Stupid.

Quality is all over the place, good and bad, but it feels more daring and it doesn't take itself seriously.

>trusted names
This feels like arbitrary gatekeeping.

>Dark Horse
DHP always feels like paying for commercials. For more adventures of This Dude, check out "This Dude" #1, on sale next month!

>Vertigo
Remember that time when Vertigo put out the CMYK anthology, but it turned out the editors were changing the stories without the creators' knowledge or permission? Fuck Vertigo.

Kill or Be Killed has fucking awful faces, Jesus I don't remember Phillips being this bad before

I am continuously astonished by how jaw-droppingly amazing Paper Girls is.

Also Kurtis Wiebe needs to go back to Rat Queens stadt. On that book he wrote literally the best ensemble leading cast in american comics but his Bounty at Dark Horse doesn't even read like he wrote it. Just at that publisher the new Barb Wire beats it handily (and don't even get me started on Zodiac Starforce), while in its own genre Kim and Kim kicks its ass six ways to sunday.

By the way isn't Spawn #268 supposed to be out by now?

I don't think SJWs really had anything to do with it, things were already pretty toned down by the time Marz left.

Basically they just stopped having good art and scouting good new artists, which was their entire identity and their claim to fame. Sejic is all they have now.

Is there any outlet that lists Image's releases in chronological order? Just to see which series came ot when?

I honestly feel that Image is the only american publisher besides Vertigo who's back catalogue is worth reading through and it would be great to be able to pick a year to start with.

>trusted names
i.e. the same motherfuckers everytime. The problem with Vertigo is they don't push hard enough on new talent, contrasted with Island which is more or less a constant showcase of unfamiliar names

Favorite complete: Godland, Prophet.
I liked the first 100 issues of Savage Dragon, after that it just turns to shit.

When will Marvel buy Spawn?

So around when his son takes over?
