Every Simpsons Ever: Thread #19

Previous thread: The marathon has ended, but you NEETs are fickle and thirst for a semblance of community and people to talk to, so retrospect on the 600 episodes of The Simpsons you just wasted two weeks watching and the series in general here. Also pay respects for Doug.

CLOSING NUMBER TIME

Reposting dumb speculation about dead actors vs. dead show

It just got renewed up to Season 30 and so I think that might finally be it. Al Jean gets to break some dumbass TV records, show ends on an even number for all the autists, and since there are always some holdover episodes from each production line that carry over to the next season, a finale could air in December 2019, about 30 years after the first episode.

So I'm cautiously hoping that's what they'll do. A finale... as long as everyone in the godforsaken cast can hold out that long. Otherwise someone might die, but it'd still last till 30 because that's already been approved.

I can't believe I a̶t̶e̶ watched the whole thing

And I didn't watch any of it, because they aired the good parts during Thanksgiving week like a bunch of fucking idiots.

>Futurama

>all those shows they outlived

Bad

Reposting as a grim reminder that all good things must come to an end.

I work in a hospital and while I deliver all the medications to the nurse's stations I watched people on Friday watching all the way through the weekend. By Sunday there were significantly fewer people watching the episodes, but then it struck me. There were people who were dying who were subjected to both the golden age of The Simpsons and died as they were subjected to the modern day Simpsons. Laying there... dying... unable to change the channel while they are half dead only able to see a show they watched over 10 years ago dying and withering away just like them.

lol

THIRSTY

a horrible HD remake of the Christmas pilot here we come!

I CAN FINALLY

CHANGE

THE

CHANNEL

...

This.

BYE EVERYBODY

If they ever do this again thry should either start in reverse and work their way back to S1, or do some kind of shrinking thing were they play an Ep from S1 then S30 until they meet in the center.
But then the drop in quality would be entirely obvious

I've watched all those episodes before, and I'm glad that some of you were able to share in the joys and pains that come when sticking with a show this long at its best and worst.

Now what?

>It just got renewed up to Season 30 and so I think that might finally be it. Plus if it ends in the fall of 2019, there will be exactly 31 Halloween episodes (counting the canon one from last year).

I saw Bob's Burgers first, I can never watch Archer.

Doug was overhyped. Bad. End.

It's going to be weird to not have the Simpsons to fall asleep to now

>I'll say it again

Welp, there it goes.

600 episodes.

And I just don't care anymore. Mock me, call me stupid, say I have shit taste, whatever. I still love this show to fucking death.

>no thank you cut for watching all 600
>just straight to Archer

They should have done it in the summer like last time, not when everybody would be too damn busy to watch.

We go back to whatever else we do. Then reconvene for the Simpsons 700 marathon.

>no movie

EVERY

FAMILY GUY

EVER

Boco, you're stupid and you have shit taste.

That did leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I love The Simpsons.

I probably like fewer Simpsons episodes than most people who like the show but somehow I appreciate that it's lasted this long. People always wonder what it'd be like if certain shows got more seasons, and this is an example of just what can happen.

It's interesting.

No regrets, my friend. No regrets.

Welp, back to watching random episodes on the "5 days on, 2 days off" FXX schedule

You don't have any friends.

And I'm sure you have a ton of regrets.

>I still want to watch more Simpsons

REST

No Simpsons Movie?

For all my fellow survivors who made it through the whole marathon:
youtube.com/watch?v=p_wm17FnMmE

I do too. It feels weird watching something else.

KotH marathon when?

when they get the rights back from Adult Swim (which is never going to happen after the whole Futurama debacle)

Elaborate on debacle

I've got every old simpsons episode available on my cables on demand service, I think I'm gonna watch them all over again

>After attending the Springfield Elementary School Christmas pageant, the Simpsons prepare for the holiday season. Bart and Lisa prepare their letters to Santa, however, Bart's letter enrages Homer and Marge and they forbid Bart from getting a tattoo. The next day, Marge takes the kids to the mall to go Christmas shopping. Bart slips away to the tattoo parlor and attempts to get a tattoo that reads "Mother". With the tattoo practically completed, Marge bursts in and drags Bart two doors down to the dermatologist to have it removed; counting on Homer's Christmas bonus, Marge spends all of the family's holiday money on the procedure. Meanwhile, at the power plant, Homer's very mean-spirited boss, Mr. Burns, announces that there will be no Christmas bonus this year. Whilst discovering there is no money for Christmas presents and not wanting to worry the family, Homer takes a job as a shopping mall Santa at the suggestion of his friend Barney Gumble. On Christmas Eve, Bart goes to the mall and harasses Santa, exposing Homer's secret. Bart is apologetic for the prank and actually supportive of Homer's moonlighting, remarking, "You must really love us to sink so low". After Homer is paid less than expected for his department store work, he and Bart receive a greyhound racing tip from Barney.

>At Springfield Downs, Homer, inspired by an announcement about a last-minute entry named Santa's Little Helper, bets all his money on the 99:1 long shot. The greyhound finishes last. As Homer and Bart leave the track, they watch the dog's owner angrily disowning him for losing the race. Bart pleads with Homer to keep the dog as a pet, and he reluctantly agrees. When Bart and Homer return home, Homer finally comes clean to the family that he did not get his bonus, however the family assumes Santa's Little Helper is their present and are overjoyed by Homer's gesture. The Simpsons family then celebrate by singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"
Who writes this tripe?

Adult Swim lost the rights to Futurama to Comedy Central and lost a lot of money (and viewership) as a result

And then CC doesn't even show it as often as they should, instead we have south park marathons on sundays

Whoo-wee that sure was one fun mary-thon! Let's all enjoy some nice ribs now!

>mfw they'll never stop the Simpsons
> they've got stories for years

You gotta wait for them right before they played their long commercial blocks.

Lets all go out for frosty chocolate milkshakes!

How long did it take you to watch the entire thing?

Simpsons is more interesting because it basically chronicles the passage of time in America to some degree

I remember in some episode in 2011 it turned out that their ancestor got cucked by a black guy and they like 2% black or something and bart said something like "that must be why I'm so cool". It's amusing that liberal writers equate coolness with blackness, but I digress.

In another episode in 1995 I remember Homer watching a black comedian on television ripping on white people with weird stereotypes that don't make sense to anyone but black people and the writers had Homer go "ahaha we're so lame" in a kind of meta way of mocking that kind of stupid comedy

It also gives you insight I guess into how the attitudes of writers changed as time passed and they replaced baby boomers with gen xers and then millennials as each generation got older.

>that their ancestor got cucked by a black guy

it's funny because it was probably a white dude raping his slaves

LOL

I don't have cable, so I didn't watch any part of the marathon this time around and only stuck to monitoring the threads. It was fun posting without knowing what was happening at the moment.

Also, who's Doug and why was he dying

The guy that was forced to eat a donut for every episode of the Simpsons and was required to watch every episode.

I don't want any damn vegetables

...

youtube.com/watch?v=Q4kA9PFHb-Y

How many donuts did he consume?

600. He made it but he is near death.

POST SONGS

how did this last 19 threads? the last 20 seasons aren't worth talking about

>first marathon lasted 50+ threads

>dat Lias

It makes you wonder how many threads the next marathon will have?

Honestly my favorite song in the series.

May God have mercy on his soul and wallet, I'm guessing he nearly died of a heart attack?

Do the Bart Man!

We're not sure but his vitals were in critical condition. He was in some sort of coma.

Here the music video (if it works)
Bart Simpson - Do The Bartman (Official Video HQ) by charlieanthonyholton2

I agree. Not a funny or very complex song, but it's memorable and represents one of Lisa's best moments.

fuck dailymotion

>tfw dailymotion purged all their porn

>Gregory
>not bad

If Doug dies then it's pretty apt they can use Homer's yearbook quote for the newspaper headlines or be engraved on his tombstone.

Simpsons sing the FUCKING blues

youtube.com/watch?v=ZwqA_OMaUes

Best shit you never heard (on the show)

Well hears a shitty recording of it from someone Ipad on youtube.
youtu.be/FdUBjreSHs4

The actual funny part is that Family Guy had already done that plot years earlier

>Simpsons- so bone dry of ideas that they're copying from le gay baby and talking dog show

youtube.com/watch?v=oHHz6AykvqA

DENTAL PLAN

>He brings a ray of sunshine in my dreary life

>We went from the age of Homer and Marge singing 'I Love to see you Smile' to Marge exploding at Homer for having a female friend

>got so used to the Simpsons pacing that all other television seems awkward to watch now

There were some real, real solid tracks off that album.

This just came to me, but if Phil Hartman were still alive, would he still be doing the show? Would he have a fallout with Fox like Maggie Roswell did, or be resentful like Shearer?

UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT
I liked most of the episodes I saw no matter what season

Sure there was some tone change to a more Family Guy plot switching, but I didn't see this huge drop in quality that everyone is always talking about.

This so much, I loved having Simpsons on in the background.

Is there anywhere I can easily download all the good simpsons series?

Ideally via DDL, i'm on a uni connection that's blazing fast but will probably castrate me for torrenting. i don't have a televison.

Probably be like Shearer.

>27/28 years
>600 episodes
>19 threads
>marathon finally ends
>still not cancelled
i would be mad but this is just sad.

Not even just boring, its some of the dumbest segments I've seen for THOG

THOH*

these are great
